MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS ADMISSIONS OPEN

IGNOU invites application for the following Degree/ Diploma Programme in Management:

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The MBA Programme consists of 21 courses in all. These comprise of:
1.      All the courses in PGDIM (Eleven Courses) ie MS-1 to MS-11
2.      Five courses from any one of the specialization streams
3.      Compulsory Courses (MS-91, MS-95) and one elective course (MS-92/93/94/96/97)
4.      Project Course (MS-100) equivalent to 2 courses.

 

All the above programmes have multi-media design, using technology aided delivery systems. These are offered through countrywide network of study centres. The University will be admitting the students for the above degree/diplomas in Management starting from July 2009 through an entrance test 'OPENMAT' to be held as per schedule given below.
 
Eligibility:
The following eligibility criteria has been approved by the Academic Council at its 46th meeting held on 13.01.2009 (AC 46.39.3).
Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for General Category and 45% marks for reserved category;
OR
Bachelor's degree with 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience.
 Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU. The candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into Management Programme conducted by institutions like CAT, MAT and State level tests need not appear in OPENMAT.

 

For Foreign Students

Foreign students residing in India are eligible to seek admission in IGNOU programmes that have valid student visa for the minimum duration of the programme. Such students are required to remit the fee at par with foreign students (fee structure of foreign students could be downloaded from the  www.ignou.ac.in). Admission of foreign students residing in India will be processed by the International Division of the University after ensuring their antecedents from the Ministry of External Affairs/Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Programmes with fixed number of seats are not opened for foreign students.

Admission to MBA (Management Programme) From Dim and PGSDM

Those who are Non-graduates and who have successfully completed DIM would be allowed to get admission into Management Programme (MBA), without re-appearing in Entrance Test (OPENMAT), after completing Bachelor's degree, if they so desire. In such a case they should send the re-registration form along with the mark sheet and copy of the Bachelor's Degree to the concerned Regional Director for getting admission to MBA, within the dates prescribed by the University for re-registration. Normally the dates are 1st February to 31st March and 1st August to 1st October for respective semesters.

The students qualifying any of PG Specialization Diplomas, if desirous of pursuing MBA, may do so by registering for other courses. However those who have done PG Specialization Diplomas under Direct Entry stream prior to 1997 will have to qualify OPENMAT test and apply for credit transfer by paying requisite fee on prescribed form to the Registrar (SR&E), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 as per credit transfer rules.
 

Entrance Test (OPENMAT XXVI, OPENMAT XXVII and IGNOU OPENMAT XXVIII)
DATES TO REMEMEBR

Admission to Management Programmes of IGNOU is done through OPENMAT Entrance Examinations, held twice a year.

For appearing in the entrance test (OPENMAT) a student has to fill up Application Form for OPENMAT ENTRANCE TEST– Form 1 which is provided separately in an envelope along with this STUDENT HANDBOOK AND PROSPECTUS. Please see the instructions for filling up the ENTRANCE TEST Form.

You need to send the form in the same envelope attached in the Prospectus by Registered/Speed Post so as to reach on or before the last date printed on the application form. No other document is required to be submitted along with this form. The Entrance Test will be held on the following dates:

A student can appear in anyone of the above OPENMAT Examinations. If a student wants to appear in more than one OPENMAT Examinations s/he is required to apply separately.
 

Admission:
Admission to the MBA, Diploma in Management, PGDIM and Post Graduate Diplomas in HRM, FM, OM, and MM, will be done on the basis of the score obtained in the OPENMAT, conducted all over India twice a year as per above schedule. (Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU. The candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into Management Programme conducted by institutions like CAT, MAT and State level tests need not appear in OPENMAT).
A result card will be sent to all the candidates appearing in the OPENMAT examination. It will indicate whether the candidate has qualified or not qualified for admission on the basis of cut-off score as decided by the University.

For admission a learner will have to apply on the specified APPLICATION FORM – Form 2 which is given
in the Prospectus along with required documents to the Regional Director concerned. You are advised to retain a Photo Copy of the Application Form submitted to IGNOU. Admission will be offered to all those attaining the cut off score and above, subject to their fulfilling other eligibility criteria as mentioned in Appendix 1.


Validity of Openmat Score: Candidates who have qualified for admission on the basis of the score obtained in the Entrance Test (OPENMAT) will be eligible to take admission into Management Programme in any of the subsequent semesters. For example, a student who has qualified for admission in August 2009 test, may take admission in any of the following two semesters i.e. either in January 2010 or July 2010 semester, one who qualifies in February 2010 test may take admission in July 20010 or January 2011 semester and one who qualifies in August 2010 test may take admission in January 2011 or July 2011 semester. The last dates for submission of the Application Form for Admission to these semesters are as follows:

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Eligibility:     

The candidate must attain 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. The Candidate must have passed 12th standard examination under 10+2 system of Maharashtra State Higher Secondary Education Board or equivalent examination of any recognised Board or any Indian University with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology individually in each subject in one and the same attempt. The candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ ST/ VJ/ NT/ OBC) taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The fee structure in MGIMS is as applicable to the Govt. Medical Colleges in Maharashtra State. The Institute does not have any paid seats.

In the entrance examination the paper of Physics, Chemistry and Biology will have multiple choice questions, while that on Gandhian Thought will be of essay and / or short answer type.

The Prospectus and Application Form with syllabus, question papers of Gandhian thought for the last 5 years, with model question papers of Physics Chemistry and Biology can be had from the office of the Dean by remitting a sum of Rs.1050/- (Rs.1000 + Rs.50 as postal charges) only by Money order in favour of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram, District Wardha - 442102 or by paying Rs.1000/- in cash at the college counter. Only those candidates who satisfy or likely to satisfy the following relevant eligibility requirements for admission to Post Graduate courses will be considered eligible to appear for the BLDEU-PGET-2010 and subsequently for admission to the course.

Eligibility requirements to appear for BLDEU-PGET-2010 and admission to the medical PostGraduate Diploma and Degree Courses are:-

1.      The candidates seeking admission to these courses should have passed MBBS from the college recognized by Medical Council of India.

2.      As specified by Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate courses shall be:

a)     General category…………………… 50 percent

b)     SC/ ST/ OBC (OBC as declared by Government of Karnataka from time to time) Category 40 percent

c)      Candidates with 40 to 70% locomotor disability of lower limbs (as certified by competent issuing authority) category 45 percent.

3.      The candidate should have completed the compulsory rotating internship / would be completing by 30th April 2010.

4.      Foreign / PIO / NRI students need not appear for BLDEU-PGET-2010. Their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks.

Test Admission Ticket (TAT)

Issue of TAT Cards:

1.      TAT Cards for BLDEU-PGET-2010 will be dispatched by speed post to Candidates. The TAT Card will indicate the Roll Number & Examination Centre allotted to the candidate with its address.

2.      The candidate must not mutilate this TAT Card or change any entry, made therein after the university authorities have authenticated it.

3.      In case a candidate does not receive the TAT Card (Hall Ticket) by 11th January 2010, he/she should contact University office (08352-262770-Extn-2328) immediately. Arrangement will be made for the issue of duplicate TAT Cards at the 'Help Desk' established on previous day (i.e. 16th January 2010) at respective examination centres. In such a situation, candidate should bring two identical photographs similar to the one affixed on application form along with his / her proof of submission / identity proof / acknowledgement of application sent or school / college identity card. In case no proof is submitted, duplicate TAT card will not be issued. BLDEU-PGET-2010

Test Scheme

BLDEU-PGET-2010 will have the following pattern.

There will be only one test which will have 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQ).
The time allotted for the test shall be 180 minutes. The test will begin at 10:00am and end at 1:00pm
Candidates are required to mark their answers in an OMR (Optical Mark Reader) Answer Sheet.
Each correct answer is awarded with one mark.
There will be no negative marking.
No mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking (marking multiple responses) for any question.
Instructions to the Candidates for taking Test
Report 60 minutes before the commencement of the test (at 9:00am)
Use ball point pen with black ink to mark on the OMR sheet.
Test commences at 10:00am
Candidates reporting after 10.15 am will not permitted to appear for the test.

Answer sheet: All answers need to be registered on an Optical Mark Reader (OMR) sheet, which is machine read and evaluated. Candidates must use only black ballpoint pen for marking their answers on the OMR sheet. Use of erasers or whiteners is not permitted.

OMR answer sheets will be supplied only at the examination hall. After the test is over, the answer sheet should be submitted back to the invigilator, before leaving the room.

Please note that the candidates must sign on attendance sheet and OMR answer sheets in the presence of the invigilator, after the invigilator has verified their TAT.

Candidates are also required to write their name, question booklet number, Version Code, TAT number only in the space provided in their OMR answer sheet. The OMR answer sheet is machine assessed and therefore it should be handled with care. If there is any doubt, please contact the test invigilator immediately.

The BLDEU-PGET-2010 test administration is timed. The test session is designed to be completed within 180 minutes as indicated in this brochure and no compromise will be made on the set time limit. The Chief Superintendent of the test centre is the official timekeeper. Candidates (Test takers) will not be permitted to continue the test beyond the established time limit.

Photography, Video shooting and finger print scanning(biometrics)shall be done during the test and counseling.

Candidates are not allowed to go out of the room temporarily for any reason during the test duration.

Note: provision for online submission of application is not available.

Instructions to candidates for filling the application form.
1.      Ensure that a)The Demand Draft for Rs 3,000/- is drawn in favour of The Registrar, BLDE University, Bijapur-586103 b) Ensure that the DD is payable at Bijapur, Karnataka- PIN-586103 State. Please note that this fee is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected for any reasons (because of incomplete information or ineligibility of the candidate) or if the candidate does not appear for the Entrance Test.
2.      Data Entry to generate the application form has to be made properly and completely, as this data in the application form will be the University data base and record.
3.      The completed application form must have the signature of the candidate, left thumb impression, signature of candidate's parent/guardian and authentication by the Gazetted Officer / Head of the Institute where the candidate has completed his/her MBBS degree/               

4.      Do not send any ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS along with the application form.

5.      1. Affix your recent (not older than six months) color photograph in the space provided. 2. Photographs should be of passport size, sharp and clear. 3. Person should not wear Goggle, Cap etc which will mask identity. Application with smudged / tampered or hazy photograph will be rejected 4. Photograph should not be stapled or pinned on the application form. 5. Signature and attestation is not required on the photograph. Incomplete / incorrect applications are liable to be rejected without prior notice to the candidate.

6.      Any application received after the last date shall not be accepted; whatever may be the cause.

7.      The application form is said to be complete only if it is enclosed with all the documents mentioned below and after verification of the same submitted in person / speed post /courier. The completed forms should be sent to

Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) has major research programs in Disease Biology & Molecular Medicine as well as Plant Biotechnology & Discovery. Applications are invited from Postgraduates in Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Biotechnology, Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences for our PhD program, currently affiliated to University of Kerala.


General category applicants must have First Class or above throughout and a valid Research Fellowship from UGC/CSIR/ICMR/KSCSTE or Category A of DBT and should be less than 28 years of age as on June 1 of 2010.

SC/ST candidates with a valid fellowship need to have only 50% marks, will be eligible for age relaxation as per rules, and are exempt from processing fees.

    Scheme of Examination
    Entrance examination would consist of two papers ie 1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weight age with objective type questions for BE / BTech courses and 2nd paper – consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for BArchitecture and BPlanning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate's perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.

    Scoring and Negative Marking

    There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets. Answers are to be marked using ball point pen (black/blue) only. For the purpose of evaluation, Test Booklet Code as printed in the Answer Sheet on Side-2 will be accepted as final.

    For those unable to appear in AIEEE on scheduled date of examination for any reason, including loss of application form/admit card in transit, no re-examination shall be held under any circumstances. The schedule will remain unaltered even if the date is declared as a public holiday.  

    Students may move to the venue of examination for refreshment etc. if they have applied for BE / BTech and B. Arch/B. Planning together.

    Syllabus
    The question papers for the Examination shall be based on a common minimum syllabus drawn from syllabi taught in different State Boards. This is given at Appendix III.  

    Language of the Question Papers 
    Candidates can opt for question papers either in English or in Hindi. The option has to be exercised while filling Application Form. It cannot be changed later.
     

    Eligibility Criteria:
    Candidates are, however, required to appear in the papers as per Scheme of Examination for AIEEE specified in Bulletin.

    The minimum academic qualification for admission through AIEEE 2010 is a pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination (see Appendix –VIII). Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE 2010 for consideration of provisional admission. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class 12) in 2011 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2010.

    The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03(three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. The candidates passed +2 to exam in 2008, 2009 or appearing in +2 in 2010 are only eligible to appear in AIEEE-2010. Candidates passed +2 in 2007 or before or appearing in 2011 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2010.

    Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1985 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1980 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic.
    Examination Centres Cities
    List of cities where the examination will be conducted is given in Appendix VI. Candidates are required to give four options convenient to them. While every effort will be made to allot a Centre in one of the places opted by the candidate, the Board reserves its discretion to allot a Centre other than that of candidate's choice any where in India. Under no circumstances, the Centre once allotted shall be changed by the Board.  

    Admit Card
    The Admit Card will be sent by post "Under Certificate of Posting (UPC)" to the candidates (including those who made application online) about four weeks before the conduct of the examination, however, the Board will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to loss of admit card in transit. It will be the responsiblity of the candidate to contact/write to the Board in case he/she is not in receipt of the Admit Cards by 6th April 2010. Such requests be sent to Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110 092  with 2 photographs (as pasted on the Application Form), one should be attested by Principal of the institution where candidate is studying/passed XII or by the gazetted officer. Photocopy of the Application Form, proof regarding remittance of fee (photocopy of the Demand Draft/Challan) in respect of those candidates who have made application online, and the original postal receipt issued by the Post Office for having dispatched the Application Form by Registered/Speed Post in order to get a duplicate Admit Card. Such request for issue of duplicate admit card should accompany with a Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/New Delhi amounting Rs.50/- as fee and additional Rs.30/- as postal charges for outstation candidates. Request for the issue of admit card after the examination will not be entertained.

    In no case the duplicate Admit Card would be issued at the Examination Centres.

    Procedure for Conduct of Examination and Use of Answer Sheet  
    Procedure for conduct of examination and instructions for use of the Test Booklet and Answer Sheet are given in Appendix VII. Candidates are advised to go through carefully before going for the Examination.

    Evaluation and Declaration of Results

    On the basis of performance in AIEEE, separate rank lists will be prepared for BE / BTech and BArch / BPlanning. Score Card indicating All India Rank and State Rank with total marks and marks in each subject shall be sent to all candidates appearing in AIEEE.

    Candidates scoring above a certain cut off percentage of marks (being different for General, OBC, SC/ST/PH category candidates) to be called for counselling shall be determined at the time of declaration of AIEEE results.All India/State Rank and marks shall also be released on AIEEE website. The results of AIEEE-2010 is likely to be declared on or before 7th June, 2010.The All India/State Rank to be called for Central counselling will be decided by Central Counselling Board which will be constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and decision of seat matrix etc. will be taken by Central Counselling Board. The required information will be displayed at apropriate time on www.ccb.nic.in .

    The score cards will be dispatched to the candidates from 12.06.2010 to 27.06.2010 under Certificate of Posting (UPC). The Board will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to loss of score card in transit. In case of non-receipt of the score card within the stipulated period candidate may apply for duplicate score card on payment of Rs. 50/- (plus postal charges of Rs. 30/- for outstation candidates) in the form of Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi/New Delhi between 09.07.2010 to 31.08.2010. No request for issue of duplicate score card will be entertained thereafter.  

    As per the notified cut off score and the candidates declared eligible up to the notified Rank shall be called to appear for counseling.

    In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, inter-se merit of such candidates shall be determined as follows:
    BE / BTech - By marks obtained in Mathematics and then in Physics in the AIEEE and then by age (preference to older candidates).
    BArch / BPlanning - By marks obtained in Aptitude Test and then in Mathematics in the AIEEE and then by age (preference to older candidates).
     

    Rules for Rechecking/Re-Evaluation of Answer Sheets 

    Since the AIEEE answer sheets are machine graded with extreme care and repeatedly scrutinized, there is no provision for rechecking/re-evaluation of answer sheets. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

    Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped candidates will be applicable as per Govt. of India/State concerned existing rules or amended from time to time.

    Photograph:
    Firmly affix two recent high contrast passport size preferably black & white photograph (taken on or after 1.9.2009) with gum/fevicol (not to be pinned or stapled) in the space provided for it in the Application Form one duly attested by the head of the institution where the candidate is studying/passed class XII or the Gazatted officer. The photograph must indicate clearly the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph. It should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. The photograph of the candidate should be attested by the Principal/Head of the Institution or Gazetted Officer in such a way that part of the signature is on the photograph and remaining part of the signature is on the application form. Attestation should be done on the bottom part of the photograph so that the photograph is not defaced. Candidates not complying with these instructions or with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected. Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination/Counselling/Admission.

    Date of Birth:
    Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1985 are eligible.     Duration of Course
    For Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS): Three years from the date of admission. However, exemption of one year shall be granted to students having a recognized two years postgraduate diploma in the same subject.
    For Diploma: Two years from the date of admission.
     
    Eligibility:
    1.      A candidate, who holds MBBS degree from a recognized medical college or a foreign medical degree included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or from any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination.
    2.      However, a candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing 12 month compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2010 can take up this examination. The candidate must produce a certificate from the head of institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2010. But he/she will not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained full registration on or before 31st March, 2010.
    3.      The cut off dates for the recognition of the Medical Colleges for the year 2010 will be 31st October 2009. The colleges recognized after this date will not be considered.

    Course Fee
    The tuition fee for MD/MS/Diploma courses will be:
    i.      For Anatomy, Physiology, and Community Medicine Rs. 6, 00,000/- per annum with a progressive increase of 10% every year.
    ii.      For Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Biochemistry Rs. 7, 00,000/- per annum with a progressive increase of 10% every year.
    iii.      For remaining subjects Rs. 8, 00,000/- per annum with a progressive increase of 10% every year.

    This fee does not include hostel and mess charges and the same will be charged separately. In case candidate is not able to complete the course in stipulated period of time extra fees shall be charged.

    Once candidate join the course, and he/ she wants to discontinue the course in between, he/ she has to deposit fees for entire course.

    If any candidate discontinues his/her studies after 31st May of admission year or in subsequent years or does not join the courses by the stipulated date, he is liable to pay the tuition fees for the full course.
     
    How To Apply:
    Method of Submission of Application
    1.      A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to send his/her application in the prescribed format which can be downloaded from our www.hihtuniversity.org.
    2.      The candidate should fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting (in capital letters) clearly and legibly.
    3.      Furnishing of false information or suppression of material information in the application form will entail disqualification and shall render the candidate unfit for admission. If ineligibility is detected at any stage, the candidature/admission will be treated as cancelled and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Further, the intimation in this regard will be sent to MCI and concerned medical college for necessary action.
    4.      Incomplete application form will be rejected and no correspondence will be entertained by the University in this regard.
    5.      It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the correct address is filled in the Application Forms. The University shall not be responsible for any loss in transit or for incorrect address given by the applicant in the Application Form.
    6.      No candidate should submit more than one application. However, if submission of another application becomes necessary for any reason, the word "Duplicate" be clearly mentioned in red ink on top of the second application. Failure to do so may entail rejection of both applications.
    7.      Since allotment of seats is made through personal appearance, candidates are not required to give their choice of subject at the time of submission of application form.
    8.      Candidate is required to go through the check list before sending his/her application form.

    1.      In case a candidate does not receive the Admit Card by 25th January 2010, he/she should immediately get in touch with the Controller of Examination with duly attested passport size photograph and proof of sending application form so that Duplicate Admit Card can be issued.
    2.      The University bears no responsibility for non-receipt of Admit Card due to loss in transit or on any other ground. Efforts to procure the duplicate admit card from Examination Section is the sole responsibility of the candidate.
    3.      Candidates are advised to preserve the Admit Card till allotment of seat. Duplicate Admit Card will not be issued after the examination.
    4.      No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Hall / Venue of allotment of seats (by personal appearance) without valid Admit Card in original.

    Conduct of Examination 
    1.      Candidate should report at the Examination centre on Sunday, the 31st January,  2010 at 9:00 AM. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 9:45 AM.
    2.      The Examination will start sharp at 10:00 AM. No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall before the expiry of 3 (three) hours i.e. 1:00 PM.
    3.      Candidate must bring his own Pen, pencils and eraser.
    4.      No candidate should carry any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material except the Admit Card (without envelope) inside the hall. If a candidate is found to be copying/conversing with other candidates/ to have in his/her possession papers, notes or books, he/she shall be disqualified from taking this Examination and the next one or two such examinations according to the nature of offence and the matter be reported to MCI for necessary action.
    5.      Candidates shall maintain silence and attend to their papers only. Any disturbance in examination hall shall be deemed as misconduct and the candidate shall forfeit the right to continue to write in the examination. The decision of the Centre superintendent shall be final and binding on candidate.
    6.      Cellular phones, pagers, calculators etc. are strictly prohibited in the Examination hall.

    Declaration of Results

    Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2010 to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of ANDHRA PRADESH AND JAMMU & KASHMIR :-

    PATTERN OF EXAMINATION: BOTH PRELIMINARY AND FINAL EXAMINATION WOULD BE OBJECTIVE TYPE.

    Eligibility for CBSE AIPMT 2010
    (i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

    (ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

    (iii) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre- Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

    (iv) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2010 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

    (v) 15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates, 27% seats for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Institutions only and 3% seats on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates are reserved in 15% All India Quota for MBBS/BDS courses.

    Applications are invited on prescribed form for admission to MBBS course starting from 1st July 2010.

    The candidates shall be selected as per their merit in the Entrance Examination to be held on 18th April 2010 at Nagpur, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

    The Programme is targeted at individuals with high potential for success in business and industry. Such individuals must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (under 10+2+3 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline from a University recognized by Association of Indian Universities / AICTE.

    Candidates appearing in the final year of their bachelor's degree are also eligible, provided they complete all formalities of their examination before June 30 for the academic session beginning from July. Such candidates, on selection, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only. The deadline for submission of mark sheet and the certificate is October 1 of that academic year. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in cancellation of the provisional admission.

    Group Discussion and Interview: The Group Discussion and personal interview are integral components of the admission process. The objective is to identify and assess interpersonal skills in addition to the overall knowledge of the student. The assessment for personal interview is based on subject knowledge and personality. The merit list is prepared for candidates who have qualified in the GD and Personal Interview.  The rank of the student in the admission merit list is obtained by giving weights of 70%, 10% and 20% to the CAT/MAT/XAT, GD and Personal Interview scores respectively.     CDS invites applications for admission to its full - time residential program, leading to PhD in Economics of the Jawaharlal Nehru University or the University of Kerala.

    The Program has a strong orientation towards Development Studies with a core economics component and encourages cross - disciplinary inputs. Core areas of research at CDS and the current themes of PhD studies are listed elsewhere.

     

    Master's with ≥ 55% marks and MPhil with FGPA of at least 6.0 (high second class) in Economics or related disciplines in Development Studies.

    Those awaiting award of the MPhil Degree can also apply.
    SC, ST & PH candidates eligible irrespective of percentage of marks.
    Those who do not have an MPhil may be considered in exceptional cases of merit, if having at least two years research experience in a University / Research Institution and research publications in refereed academic journals.
    Foreign nationals and those who have undergone the qualifying Programs abroad will be eligible subject to clarification on equivalence of their Degrees by the University.
    Financial Assistance:

    All the selected candidates will be offered Fellowships, available under various schemes.

    ICSSR Institutional Doctoral Fellowships Six:

    Presently @ Rs. 6,000 per month for those who have cleared NET for lectureship and @ Rs. 5,000 for those who have not cleared the NET. The Fellowships carry an annual contingency Grant of Rs. 12,000 and have a tenure 3 Years.

    ICSSR is considering revision of the tenure and emoluments; pending such revision, CDS has augmented this scheme to provide stipend @ Rs. 6,000 for all and an additional fourth year.

    Further, ICSSR has earmarked one fellowship for University / College Teachers which will have a tenure of two years and with salary protection.

    CDS Endowment Fellowships:

    Two fellowships under the National Research Program on Plantation Development, funded by the Government of India Ministry of Commerce, are available to selected scholars who plan to work on aspects of Plantation Development.

    These Fellowships have a maximum tenure of four years; emoluments are presently at ICSSR rates, but are likely to be revised.

    Selected scholars can avail of the UGC's JRF and the RGNF for SC / ST candidates, if awarded such fellowships by the UGC. The schemes provide fellowship @ Rs. 12,000 for the first two years and @ Rs. 14,000 for the final three years.

    Selected scholars from SC / ST communities of Kerala can seek assistance under the Government of Kerala Fellowship Scheme which is of UGC Fellowship tenure and 75% of UGC rates.

    Selection Process:

    The selection process has two phases:

    First, candidates will be short - listed for Interview on the basis of their scores for Academic Record and Study Proposal.

    1. Evaluation of the Research Proposal by a faculty panel.

    2. Score for the Academic Record on a weighted scheme:

    (2 x % of marks for the +2 course) + (3 x % marks for Bachelor's) + (5 x % of Marks for Master's) + (5 x % of marks for MPhil). Coursework grades will be reckoned for those awaiting award of MPhil Degree.

    Final selection will be based on a personal Interview by the Admission Committee, comprising of CDS faculty as well as an ICSSR nominee.

    The Committee shall base its recommendations on an assessment of the viability of the proposed study, whether it can be undertaken at CDS and the candidate's aptitude and capability to undertake the study.

    Applicants are encouraged to take note of the current areas of research and research interests of the faculty at CDS.

    The Personal Interviews are scheduled at CDS on 07 Januaey 2010.

    Applications have been invited for the award of the Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships launched by St John's College; the University of Cambridge in honour of Dr Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India, a graduate and Honorary Fellow of St John's College, to enable academically outstanding Indian students to go to St. John's College, University of Cambridge to study for Doctoral Degrees in subjects like Science & Technology, Economics and Social Sciences.

    Applications in Aerospace Engineering and Energy Studies will be of particular interest.

    The applicant should be an Indian national below 35 years of age as on 15th December 2009, holding a Master's (Postgraduate) Degree from a reputed/recognised Indian University/Institution with a First Class award (UG and PG) in the relevant subject/field, with a valid Indian Passport and currently based in India. Applicant should not have already had significant exposure to UK education or received UK government funding.

    Applicant should show evidence of leadership qualities (to be assessed from personal statements on extracurricular activities and/or evidence of having made a difference to the country/ society/ participation in symposia in the relevant subject, or peer reviewed publication in the area), should be keen to pursue and should have identified a full time Doctoral Research Degree from the University of Cambridge commencing by  September/ October 2010, fluent in spoken and written English and should be able to fulfil any other admission criteria laid down by the University.

    The Scholarships are fully funded and will include Academic fees, International airfare, Monthly stipend to cover living expenses and UK Visa . It is the responsibility of the applicants to identify a suitable Doctoral Programme and Supervisor at the University of Cambridge, apply for a place for September/ October 2010 and secure admission.

    Only those applicants who get an offer of admission at St John's College will be eligible for the award of the Scholarship. Candidates should not approach St John's College directly at this stage. Subsequent to the interviews, the selection committee will identify the required number of candidates for the awards. Selection results will be communicated within a month following the interview.
