The Academic Programmes of XLRI 2010

XAT REGISTRATION:

1: Registration for Admission Test - XAT 2010

Candidate interested in taking XAT has to first register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. After completing the registration,download the XAT Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount of Rs.800/ - is to be tendered along with the Pay-in-slip to obtain XAT Bulletin 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given inside the bulletin is to be filled-up and sent to XAT Office alongwith the XLRI's copy of XAT Pay-in-slip (that was signed and sealed by
Axis Bank at the time of buying the bulletin).
Alternatively, one can register for XAT after obtaining a demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs.850/ - drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. He/she then has to send the XAT PP Form (that is to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001. The XAT Office will dispatch the bulletin to the candidate on receiving
the form and demand draft.

2: Registration for Academic Programmes offered at XLRI

Two Year Post Graduate Programme in (i) Business Management (ii) Personnel Mngt & Industrial Relations

Eligibility: Candidate who has completed three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2010 may also apply.

One Year General Management Programme:

Eligibility: Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad. He/She should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least
five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2010 after completion of graduation.

Four Year Fellow Programme in Management:
Eligibility: Candidate should have a Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad with three years of work experience Or CA/ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and three years of work experience Or a BE/BTech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks
(50% for SC/ST candidates) and four years of work experience.

XLRI REGISTRATION:

After registering for XAT, a candidate should register for XLRI' s programme(s) at www.xlri.edu . After successfully registering for XLRI, the candidate has to download the XLRI Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount (refer table below for the amount) is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XLRI Prospectus 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given in the prospectus has to be filled-up and sent to Admission Office along with the XLRI's copy of
XLRI Pay-in-slip (that was signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of buying the prospectus).

CAT Eligibility:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates, belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)1 categories), awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at the website www.catiim.in.

Sale of CAT 2009 Vouchers:
The CAT 2009 Vouchers can be obtained from branches of Axis Bank and their associated outlets during the period from Wednesday, 9 September 2009 to Thursday, 1 October 2009 for Rs.1400/- (Rs.700/- for SC/ST candidates). Please note that a candidate needs to buy only one CAT 2009 Voucher irrespective of the number of. Institutes, he/she is applying to. Note that the Voucher must be bought only in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must show the relevant document such as a marriage certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of the test, interview and at the time of joining a programme. SC and ST candidates must show a copy of their SC/ST Certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT 2009 Voucher from the Axis Bank branches.
Voucher once sold cannot be refunded under any circumstance including but not limited to loss of voucher, inability to read voucher number due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, candidate being ineligible for taking CAT, CAT not being a pre-requisite for a programme, and rejection of candidate registration due to incomplete and/or wrong information. If the voucher is lost, voucher number is not readable due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, and/or candidate thinks
he/she has made mistake(s) in filling-out information during the online registration, then the candidate can purchase
a new voucher and re-register online.

Registration for CAT:
On purchasing the CAT 2009 Voucher, prospective candidates must log onto the website www.catiim.in to register for CAT 2009. The registration window starts on Wednesday, 9 September 2009 and will close on Thursday, 1 October 2009. Details of the registration process are provided at the website www.catiim.in.


TEST Centres:
The test will be conducted in venues across many centres. These centres are Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Durgapur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Siliguri, and Varanasi. IIMs reserve the right to change or cancel any test venue/centre and/or change the test window time and
dates at their own discretion.

CAT Score:
A candidate's CAT score card will be available to the candidate at the website www.catiim.in from 22 January 2010.
Candidates must retain a print-out of their score card.

Eligibility : Applicants should have (a) at least a three-years bachelor’s degree in any discipline obtained through the 10+2+3 system or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PD) or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates appearing for the final year graduation examination are also eligible to apply provided they complete it before June 30, 2010 and fulfill the eligibility criteria as set by IIFM.

Admission Procedure :
STEP-1: Common Admission Test (CAT)

All applicants desirous of seeking admission in PGDFM at IIFM, Bhopal have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) between 28th November to 07th December 2009 by responding to their notification published in leading national dailies dated 30th August 2009. The CAT bulletin can be obtained from selected branches of Axis Bank on payment before 1st October 2009. IIFM will use the CAT score only for short-listing the candidates for two year full time post graduate programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

STEP-2: IIFM Application Form :
In addition to CAT, the candidates should fill up a separate application form for admission to PGDFM. This form can be obtained either personally or by post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs 900/- (Rs 450/- for SC / ST) drawn in favour of "Director, Indian Institute of Forest Management" payable at Bhopal. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from the website and the filled in hardcopy of the form along with the Draft for the specified amount should be sent to IIFM. Alternatively the information bulletin and the application form can be purchased by paying cash at the various centres of the following coaching institutes (Photocopy of the cash receipt issued by the coaching institute should be attached) :

2. PT Education
3. Career Launcher
Filled in application form, complete in all respect including the CAT registration number (which will be available on CAT admit card, issued by IIM) should reach IIFM Bhopal on or before 10th December 2009. Applicant should attach the photocopy of CAT admit card along with IIFM application form.

STEP-3: Group Discussion/Interview:
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT score, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview at IIFM, Bhopal during February/March 2010.

Reservation : 15%, 7.5% and 3% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PD respectively, provided they meet the minimum selection criteria as specified by IIFM. The Institute will also be implementing the OBC quota for non-creamy layer in a phased manner.

Other Important Information :
Providing inaccurate or incomplete information or malpractice of any kind or canvassing will result in disqualification of the candidate.

The minimum requirement for admission to the Programme is: A three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognized University. Candidates who expect to complete the final part of their degree examinations by June 15, 2010, may also apply. Offers of admission to such candidates, if made, will be provisional and will be automatically cancelled in the event of their failing to complete all the requirements for obtaining the degree before June 15.

Admission Test :
Applicants are required to take the Admission Test (XAT) to be conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, on 3rd January, 2010. For this, applicants have to log on to www.xlri.edu and apply online for XAT. Registering for XAT is a prerequisite for applying to XIMB.

XIMB Application :
Applicants have to also apply (online) separately for XIMB programme at: www.ximb.ac.in Upon successfully filling the online application form the payment advice form can be downloaded. The applicant must take a printout of the same payment advice form and mail it to the Admissions Office, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar-751013, accompanied by the application fee (non-refundable) in one of the following ways:

Selection Process :
The institute will decide the section wise as well as total cut-off marks, which will be used for shortlisting candidates to be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. GD & PI will held at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses for appearing in the GD & PI. The final selection will be on the candidate's performance in the XAT as well as Group Discussion and Personal Interview(which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience). The selected candidates will be informed by mail by around first week of April 2010.

Admission :
The programme will begin by the middle of June 2010 for the first year students. At this time the students will be given a Manual of Policies and Regulations which will be binding on them.

Eligibility :
The minimum requirement for admission to the Programme is: A three-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognized University. Candidates who expect to complete the final part of their degree examinations by June 15, 2010 may also apply. Offers of admission to such candidates, if made, will be provisional and will be automatically cancelled in the event of their failing to complete all the requirements for obtaining the degree before June 15.

Admission Test :
Applicants are required to take one of the Admission Tests:

1. The test to be conducted by Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), on 8th November 2009, or
2. XAT to be conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur on 3rd January 2010. Registering for IRMA Test or XAT is a prerequisite for applying to XIMB's PGDM-RM.

XIMB Application
Applicants have to also apply (online) separately for XIMB programme at: www.ximb.ac.in. Upon successfully filling the online application form the payment advice form can be downloaded. The applicant must take a printout of the same payment advice form and mail it to the Admissions Office, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar-751013, accompanied by the application fee (non-refundable) in one of the following ways:

* Original Bank remittance slip, after depositing Rs.1000/- (in cash) at any State Bank of India core branch in the Current A/c No. 30834687536 of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar; OR

* A Demand Draft for Rs.1000/- made out in favour of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

On receipt of the DD or Bank remittance slip/counterfoil for the required amount and the payment advice form, the Bulletin 2010 will be mailed to the applicant. The last date for applying online is December 5, 2009, and for despatching the application fee it is December 15, 2009.

It may be noted that besides registering for IRMA Test or XAT one has to apply (online) separately to XIM, Bhubaneswar.

Online registration will be accepted subject to receipt of the application fee and completed payment advice form by XIMB. Upon receipt of the application fee, the eligible applicants will be intimated by e-mail about the acceptance of their applications.

Selection Process :
The institute will decide the section wise as well as total cut-off marks, which will be used for shortlisting candidates to be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. GD & PI will held at Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta and Mumbai.Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses for appearing in the GD & PI. The final selection will be on the candidate's performance in the written test as well as Group Discussion and Personal Interview (which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience). The selected candidates will be informed through mail by first week of April 2010.

Admission :
The programme will begin by the middle of June, 2010 for the first year students. At this time the students will be given a Manual of Policies which will be binding on them.

Three-year part-time programme (PGDM-PT) for Working Executives

Eligibility :
The minimum requirements for admission to the three-year part-time PGDM programme are:

1. A three-year Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognised University.
2. At least three years of experience in executive capacity in an organisation of repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector. Self-employed persons with minimum five years experience after obtaining qualifying degree can also be considered.
3. Age limit: Completed 24 years as on 01.07.2010.
4. Sponsorship or No Objection certificate from the employer for pursuing this course at XIMB.

Application Procedure
Applicants have to apply online for the XIMB programme, by logging on to www.ximb.ac.in . Upon successfully filling the online application form the payment advice form can be downloaded. Screening for interview will be based on the candidate's past academic performance and relevant work experience. Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses. Selected candidates will be informed by mail before 15th April 2010.

Programme Design
This three-year part-time programme is designed for executives, working anywhere in the country. The curriculum is as rigorous as our two-year full-time PGDM programme. The participants will reside in the campus for about 15 days at a time, thrice a year (45 days in a year). In the intervening period, they are expected to complete the assigned readings and projects.

Admission

Who can apply
Candidates should have a bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern/ a degree in Agriculture, Technology, Medicine, Education or law/ a post graduate degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from any University/Institution recognized by AIU/AICTE. The FMS, BHU uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time Post-Graduate Programmes in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

XAT REGISTRATION:
Step 1: Registration for Admission Test - XAT 2010
Candidate interested in taking XAT has to first register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. After successfully completing the registration, the candidate has to download the XAT Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount of Rs.800/ - is to be tendered along with the Pay-in-slip to obtain XAT Bulletin 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given inside the bulletin is to be filled-up and sent to XAT Office alongwith the XLRI's copy of XAT Pay-in-slip (that was signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of buying the bulletin).
Alternatively, one can register for XAT after obtaining a demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs.850/ - drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. He/she then has to send the XAT PP Form (that is to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001. The XAT Office will dispatch the bulletin to the candidate on receiving the form and demand draft.

Step 2: Registration for Academic Programmes offered at XLRI
Two Year Post Graduate Programme in (i) Business Management (ii) Personnel Mngt & Industrial Relations

Eligibility:
Candidate who has completed three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2010 may also apply.

One Year General Management Programme:
Eligibility: Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad. He/She should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2010 after completion of graduation.

Four Year Fellow Programme in Management:
Eligibility: Candidate should have a Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad with three years of work experience Or CA/ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and three years of work experience Or a BE/BTech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and four years of work experience.

XLRI REGISTRATION:
After registering for XAT, a candidate should register for XLRI' s programme(s) at www.xlri.edu . After successfully registering for XLRI, the candidate has to download the XLRI Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount (refer table below for the amount) is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XLRI Prospectus 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given in the prospectus has to be filled-up and sent to Admission Office along with the XLRI's copy of
XLRI Pay-in-slip (that was signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of buying the prospectus).

Eligibility:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates, belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)1 categories), awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at the website www.catiim.in.

Prospective candidates must maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process.

Sale of CAT 2009 Vouchers:
The CAT 2009 Vouchers can be obtained from branches of Axis Bank and their associated outlets during the period from Wednesday, 9 September 2009 to Thursday, 1 October 2009 for Rs.1400/- (Rs.700/- for SC/ST candidates). Please note that a candidate needs to buy only one CAT 2009 Voucher irrespective of the number of. Institutes, he/she is applying to. Note that the Voucher must be bought only in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must show the relevant document such as a marriage certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of the test, interview and at the time of joining a programme. SC and ST candidates must show a copy of their SC/ST Certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT 2009 Voucher from the Axis Bank branches.
Voucher once sold cannot be refunded under any circumstance including but not limited to loss of voucher, inability to read voucher number due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, candidate being ineligible for taking CAT, CAT not being a pre-requisite for a programme, and rejection of candidate registration due to incomplete and/or wrong information. If the voucher is lost, voucher number is not readable due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, and/or candidate thinks he/she has made mistake(s) in filling-out information during the online registration, then the candidate can purchase a new voucher and re-register online.

Registration for CAT:
On purchasing the CAT 2009 Voucher, prospective candidates must log onto the website www.catiim.in to register for CAT 2009. The registration window starts on Wednesday, 9 September 2009 and will close on Thursday, 1 October 2009. Details of the registration process are provided at the website www.catiim.in.

The test will be conducted in venues across many centres. A candidate's CAT score card will be available to the candidate at the website www.catiim.in from 22 January 2010.

Candidates must retain a print-out of their score card.

Instances of incorrect information and process violation detected at any stage of the selection process will lead to disqualification of the candidate from the selection process and he/she will not be allowed to appear for CAT in future. If such instances go undetected during the current selection process but are detected in subsequent years, such disqualification will take placewith retrospective effect.
