Kerala MBBS Community Quota 2011



Candidates desirous of being considered for the Minority/Community quota seats of MBBS in Private Self Financing Medical Colleges that have entered into agreement with the Government of Kerala, have to submit the documents necessary for considering their claim, to reach the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram-695001, by hand or by Speed Post, latest by 5 pm on 7th September, 2011(Wednesday).

Such candidates submitting the documents and claiming these seats will also have to register their options for allotment to these colleges through the site www.cee.kerala.gov.in, as and when the facility is activated.

As per the agreement reached between the Government and the Association of these colleges, 30% seats out of the 50% seats to be allotted by the CEE, will be the Minoriyt/Community quota seats which will be filled by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations from among those belonging to the Community which established the college in case of minority colleges as well as other colleges.

For 2011-12, candidates belonging to the community mentioned against the name of the college will be considered for allotment to these Minority/Community quota seats.

Candidates claiming such seats in Dr Somerwell Memorial CSI Medical Colleges, Karakonam, have to submit the necessary Certificate from Bishop, South Kerala Diocese, in addition to the two documents mentioned.

Candidates included in the Category list of MBBS under EZ, BH, KU, SC will be considered for allotment under the ‘Hindu’ quota in SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, Trivandrum, if they register options for this college. However, those candidates belonging to the ‘Hindu’ category who are not included in the category list of MBBS in the categories mentioned here, should submit the duly filled Proforma and Community Certificate and also register options to this college, to be considered for allotment to the Community seats in this College.

Candidates included in the MU/EZ category lists of MBBS for 2011, need not submit the Community Certificate again to be considered for allotment to the Community seats available for these categories. However, candidates eligible and desirous of being considered for allotment to the Community/Minority seats in those colleges where the eligible candidates are decided based on the district to which the candidate belongs; have to submit the certificates to the CEE.

The Community Certificate should specify the district to which the candidate belongs. These colleges include the following.

In the areas of:

ADMISSION
The FPM seeks high quality candidates with strong academic background, preferably with professional experience, and intellectual curiosity needed for scholarship in management.

Eligibility
Candidates should have:
a Master’s degree* in any discipline, with at lease 55 per cent marks (High second class) and at least 50% marks at Bachelor’s degree level
OR
a Bachelor’s degree** with complete professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent marks and with minimum of two years post-qualification work experience
OR
a B.E./B.Tech. Degree with at least 60 per cent marks with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification work experience.

Those appearing for the final year Master’s degree* examination or its equivalent may also apply, subject to completion of all the requirements before the registration date, i.e. end- June of the current year.

*Candidates who are in the final year of their Master’s Programme are eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected will be permitted to join the programme provisionally subject to the submission of a certificate, issued on or before June 30 of the current year, from the head of the institution implicitly emphasizing that they have completed all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30 of the current year.

**The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

FELLOWSHIP:
The fellowship covers all academic and living expenses. In addition the FPM participants get a monthly stipend of Rs.15000/- both in the first year and second year and Rs.20000/- in the third year and the fourth year.

Procedure
Applications for admission to the FPM are invited at the same time when the advertisement of Common Admission Test [CAT] is released. Applicants can choose upto three areas of specialization while applying. Application should be submitted on a prescribed application form available from FPM office by a specified date along with a demand draft of Rs 300/ -

Following categories of candidates are considered for admission:

Candidates having a CAT/GMAT score (valid for all areas)
Candidates having GRE/GATE score (valid for selected areas like OM & QT, Information System)
Candidates having qualified UGC/CSIR JRF Research test (valid for all areas)
Candidates not having any score may appear for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by the institute on a pre announced date.
Lecturers working in AICTE/UGC recognized university and colleges on a full time basis for a minimum period of three years in management related areas.

Short-listed candidates are called for interview and further evaluation in Indore.


Waiver
i. Alumni of IIMs (PGP, PGP-ABM, PGP-PMP, PGPX) are eligible to apply for exemption of first year PGP courses, provided the candidate has obtained in the first year of the above degree/diploma a minimum grade point equivalent to 2.55, with no Fs and not more than two Ds.

ii. Similar program of other universities/Business Schools are eligible to apply for exemption of first year PGP courses, provided they satisfy the following conditions:

a) The candidate should have completed a full-time, two year MBA degree, two year PG Diploma in Management or one year PGPX, one year PGP-PMP (or equivalent) in Management from any recognised University / Business School / Institution.

b) The candidate should have obtained in the first year of the above degree/diploma a minimum average grade point equivalent to IIMI’s 2.55, with no Fs and not more than two Ds.

c) The candidates should have obtained the qualifying degree or diploma, not more than five years ago, with respect to the beginning of the first term of the FPM programme into which she/he is seeking admission.

The granting of the waiver is not automatic. The final decision related to the waiver is made by the FPM EC by taking into account all relevant factors, including:

• The quality and content of the program (MBA/PGDM/PGP-ABM etc.) undergone by the candidate. The FPM Executive committee will come up with a list of such institutions in order to have transparency.

• The performance of the candidate in the program.

• The FPM EC, on applying its criteria, can grant full, partial, or no waiver to the candidate.


Validity of Score: Two years from the date of the standard test and should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form

Selection to the programme is based on performance in:
1. CAT/GMAT or other standard tests as specified
2. Personal Interview
3. Academic Work
4. Relevant Work Experience [teaching, research, management etc.]
5. Any other, as decided by FPMC.

Applications are invited by Kerala University for registration as Private Candidates for B.A./B.Com. Degree (Annual) Examinations to be held in 2012- 2014.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION:
a. Eligibility conditions for B.A/B.Com. Degree Examinations:
A pass in Higher Secondary Examination/Vocational Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Kerala/Pre-Degree Examination of this University or an examination recognized by the Academic Council as equivalent thereto.
b. Candidates should choose only those combinations of subjects, involving no practicals, offered in the colleges affiliated to the University of Kerala.
c. Candidates who have passed the Sahithyacharya Examination conducted by the Kerala Hindi Prachar Sabha and Pre-Degree Examination of Kerala University or any other examination recognized as equivalent, thereto, by the University can register as Private candidates for B.A Hindi – Part I and Part II in two sittings. They can choose only Hindi as Part II. Such candidates should have completed 3 years after passing the Pre-Degree examination or an examination recognized as equivalent by the University, prior to the II Year B.A Part I and Part II examination.
d. Regular/Private Registered candidates who have registered/appeared for First/Second Year examination of B.A/B.Com. and have discontinued shall be permitted to register for II & III Year/III Year only respectively.
e. Candidates who have passed the B.A/B.Sc. Degree Examinations of Kerala University can register for Optional change to B.A. with a different set of optional subjects and to B.Com. Part III.
f. Candidates who have passed part I & II of B.A. /B.Sc. Examinations, but failed in Part III shall be permitted to register for Optional change to B.A. with a different set of Optional Subjects. B.A. students should have registered/appeared for Final Year Examination.
g. Candidates who are not matriculates of this University should apply for matriculation in the prescribed form remitting the fee.
h. Candidates who have passed an examination other than the Pre-Degree Examination of Kerala University should apply for recognition in the prescribed form with fee. They should also forward the Migration Certificate from the University/Board from where they have passed the qualifying examination. Candidates from Calicut University need not apply for recognition. ELIGIBILITY
(a) FULL-TIME - Candidate with Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with not less than 55% of marks or 5.51 in 10.00 Grade point average scale under CBCS. Eligibility for Admission
Academic Eligibility: a. Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examination recognized equivalent there to, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible for admission.
b. Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (3 year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, or Biochemistry as Main, and
any one of the two of the above subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent there to with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to BSc Nursing.

Age : Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2011. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.
