Essential qualification:

MSc in Physics However, candidates who are studying in the final semester of the qualifying examination and have cleared all the papers in all previous semesters may also apply. The syllabus of this examination is the Physics MSc syllabus of this University excluding Elective and Advanced Papers. The successful candidates will be called for an interview on August 11 and 12, 2015. The final selection for joining this Department as a PhD student will be on the basis of this interview.

Advertisement for Admission to Ph.D Program in Archaeology, 2015

1. The total number of seats for admission is 5.

2. The last date for submission of forms for admission to Ph. D program in Archaeology is 12th June 2015.

3. The Ph.D Entrance Examination (RET) will be held on 15^th June 2015 from 12.00 Noon to 3 pm.

4. The Entrance examination will be of 75 marks (written) with 25 marks allotted for interview.

5. An interview will be held on 22^nd June, 2015 at 12.00 Noon.

6. The students who have already cleared U.G.C. examinations (NET/SLET) will not be required to appear for the Ph. D Entrance (written) test. They will have to appear for the interview only.

7. Questions will be set on the basis of regular M.A. /.V1.SC syllabus of Department of Archaeology, Calcutta University.

8. A list of successful candidates qualifying in the Ph. D entrance test will be published in the last week of June 2015.

9. Reservation of seats will be maintained in accordance with the West Bengal Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2013.

10.Students applying for reserved seats must submit their caste certificates from the competent authority. OBC (A) and OBC (B) students must submit their family income certificates along with the caste certificates.

Applications are invited by Department of Languages (Evening), University of Calcutta, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata‐700073 from graduate candidates for admission to the following courses:

01. Certificate and Diploma* Courses in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Korean (only certificate), Pali, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Tibetan and Urdu Languages.

Candidates who have obtained one year certificate in a language from C.U. or an equivalent certificate from other Institutes are eligible to apply for ‘Diploma Course’ in that language.

02. Pre-M.A. Course in Russian Language.

Graduation and a two year Diploma in Russian is the eligibility for Pre M.A.

Candidates are to qualify an entrance test for admission to Pre M.A. Course.

Admission Test :

Admission to Certificate course will be made on the basis of objective‐type written test of 100 marks followed by a counseling. The written test will be held on 03.07.15
