Applications have been invited by Regional Cancer Center, Thiruvananthapuram for admission to 3 years Postgraduate Degree (MD) course in Anaesthesiology for the Academic Year 2012-13.

Eligibility for admission:
Admission to the Institute Seats will be done purely on academic merit based on the All India rank list of the NEET PG Medical Entrance Examination 2013 conducted by the National Board of Examinations

(a) Academic:
1. Applicants should have passed the MBBS Degree from any of the Medical Colleges in India recognized by the Medical Council of India. Candidates who have completed Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship (CRRI) on or before 31.03.2013 are eligible to apply, but admission to the candidates will be given only after obtaining permanent registration from Indian / State Medical Council. No condonation of Compulsory Internship period will be accepted.

2. All candidates who seek admission to Institute Seats should have qualified in the NEET PG Medical Entrance Examination 2013 conducted by the National Board of Examinations

b) Nativity: Should be an Indian Citizen
c) Age: Upper age limit for candidates will be 35 years as on 31.03.2013
d) Candidates from outside Kerala should obtain Travancore-Cochin Medical Council registration within one month of admission, failing which their admission will be cancelled.
e) Candidates with visual handicap, hearing disability and loco-motor disability involving upper limb are not eligible for admission.

Application procedure:
a. Application procedure is common for all candidates seeking admission to the Institute seats.

b. Candidate seeking admission shall download Prospectus, Application Form and Annexures from the website www.rcctvm.org

c. Application forms are to be downloaded and printed in colour using ink jet / laser printer on A4 size paper (print on one side only).

d. Forms must be filled up clearly using Blue/Black Ballpoint Pen.

e. Paste recent passport size photograph (taken within the last three months) in the space provided. Photographs must be snapped with front profile, showing full head, face, shoulder and with both ears and taken without wearing any Cap / Hat / Sun glasses.
Polaroid photos are not accepted.

f. Please do not alter the form in any way.

g. Application fees should be paid by Demand Draft for Rs.1500/-(Rs.750/- for SC / ST candidates) drawn in favour of 'The Director, Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram payable at State Bank of Travancore, Medical College Branch, Thiruvananthapuram or any of its service branches at Thiruvananthapuram.

h. Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.

i. The completed and signed Application form, Demand Draft and all supporting documents should reach the Director, Regional Cancer Centre, Medical College Post Office, Thiruvananthapuram-695 011 by Registered / Speed post only not later than 3.30 pm on 30.06.2013.

j. The envelope containing the application should be super scribed "Application For Md Anaesthesiology Course 2013-14".

Certificates / Documents to be attached along with the application form:
Self-attested photo-copies of the following:
1. MBBS Degree certificate.
2. Compulsory Rotating Internship completion certificate.
3. Candidates who have just completed Internship / House surgeoncy on or before 31.03.2013 should enclose Certificate from the Principal of respective Medical College certifying the same.
4. Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate. Provisional Registration Certificates will be accepted from candidates who have just completed Internship on or after 31.03.2013.
5. Statement of All India Qualifying rank in the NEET PG Entrance Examination 2013 issued by the NBE
6. Proof of Nationality (Passport / Voters ID / PAN Card / Tahsildar’s certificate).
7. Proof of age. (Passport / Secondary School Leaving certificate showing date of birth / Tahsildar’s certificate).
8. Character / conduct certificate issued by competent authority (head of institute / gazetted officer).
9. Community certificate in original issued by Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar for SC / ST candidates applying for fee concession/waiver if admitted under merit seat.

Eligibility
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline with at least 50% (45% for SC / ST) marks or equivalent from a University or Institution. The Jammu & Kashmir SET Agency has announced holding of the State Eligibility Test (SET) on 18th August 2013 (SUNDAY) for determining the eligibility of J & K State subjects for the Eligibility for Lectureship in universities and colleges of Jammu & Kashmir. The Agency will conduct SET in 36 subjects listed under at 2 (two) Centers of Srinagar and Jammu:

Conditions of Eligibility:
i) Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities / institutions recognized by UGC in Sciences, Humanities (including languages) and Social Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master's degree or equivalent examinations are eligible for this Test.

ii) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of Lectureship eligibility only after they have passed their Master’s degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC / ST / PWD (Persons with disability) category candidates). Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.

iii) The PhD degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.

Age Limit & Relaxation:
There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility

Exemption (Eligibility for Lectureship):
i) NET / SLET / SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities / Colleges / Institutions. Provided however, that candidates, who are or have been awarded a PhD Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of PhD Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges / Institutions.

ii) The candidates who have passed the UGC / CSIR JRF examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in SET.

iii) For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET / SET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in the universities / colleges situated in the state from where they have cleared their SET.

Examination Fee and Mode of Payment
For General candidates: Rs. 800/-
For OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates: Rs. 500/-
For SC / ST / PWD candidates: Rs. 400/-.

The candidate is to fill the Bank Receipt in triplicate (Bank Copy, SET Copy & Candidate’s Copy). All the three copies of the receipt have to be submitted in any branch of Jammu & Kashmir Bank along with the bank charges of Rs. 10/-. The bank will retain its copy and return the other two copies of the receipt to the candidate. The candidate has to attach the SET copy of the receipt with the printout of online Application Form which he / she has to submit at the SET coordination center of University of Kashmir / Jammu opted by the candidate.

Each year, there are five Scholarships available for India to enable outstanding students - chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service - to study at the University of Oxford.

The first Indian Rhodes Scholars took up residence in Oxford in 1947, and since that time nearly two hundred Indians have been awarded this prestigious scholarship.  They have pursued a variety of careers in public service, academia, business, law, and medicine, amongst others.

Many have achieved notable distinction, including:

Montek Singh Ahluwalia (India & Magdalen 1964), prominent economic policy-maker. He is Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of India and has previously served as the first Director of the Independent Evaluation Office, International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Girish Karnad (India & Magdalen 1960), contemporary writer, playwright, actor and film director. He is a recipient of the Jnanpith Award, the highest literary honour conferred in India, for his contributions to Kannada literature and theatre.
Lavanya Rajamani (India & Hertford 1996), advisor and writer on international environmental law, in particular international climate change law and policy. She is  a professor at the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi.
Mahesh Rangarajan (India & Balliol 1986), researcher, author and historian with a special interest in environmental history and colonial history of British India. He is also a political commentator and a psephologist.
