Application are invited by Pandit Deendayal Petroleum
University from the eligible candidates for Admission to Ph.D and M.Tech
courses of the Academic Year 2013-14.
Eligibility Crieteria: Ph.D
A student seeking an admission to Ph.D. Programme of the University is
required to have minimum educational qualification as mentioned hereunder:
For research in an area of Engg./Technology
First Class/CPI of 6.5/ aggregate 60% marks either at B. Tech. or at M.
Tech./M.E. equivalent level, & M. Tech./M.E. or equivalent in appropriate
area
For research in an area of Sciences
First Class/CPI of 6.5/ aggregate 60% marks in M.Sc. or equivalent
level equivalent in appropriate area
For research in an area of Management
First Class/CPI of 6.5/ aggregate 60% marks either at a Bachelor degree
or at M.B.A. / M.Tech./M.E./A.C.A./A.I.C.W.A./A.C.S. level equivalent level,
& M.B.A./ M.Tech./M.E./A.C.A./A.I.C.W.A./A.C.S.
For research in an area related to Liberal Studies (English Language
& Literature, Public Administration and Public Policy, Economics,
Psychology, Political Science, & International Relations)
M. A. with aggregate 55% or its equivalent in an appropriate area.
Eligibility Criteria for M.
Tech.:
(A) (i) For M. Tech. (Petroleum
Engineering):
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Refinery
Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemical,
Technology, Mining Engineering / M.Sc. or M.Sc. Tech. in Applied Geology,
Applied Geophysics, Petroleum Geology, with Mathematics as one of the courses
of study at the bachelors level, and with a minimum CPI of 6.5 on a 10 point
scale or equivalent (60% of aggregate marks).
(ii) M. Tech. (Nuclear
Engineering):
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/
Instrumentation & Control/Chemical / Civil / Metallurgical /
Production/Industrial Engineering OR M.Sc. in Electronics/Physics/Nuclear
Physics with a minimum CPI of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent (60% of
aggregate marks)
(iii) M. Tech. (Energy Systems
& Technology (Focused on Solar Energy)):
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation
& Control/Mech./ Semiconductor Technology/ Energy Science & Engg. OR
M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Physics/Applied Physics/ Electronics/
Optoelectronics; with a minimum CPI of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent
(60% of aggregate marks).
(iv) M. Tech. (Electrical Engg.
(Power Systems)):
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Electrical Engg. with a minimum CPI of
6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent (60% of aggregate marks).
(v) M. Tech. (Mechanical Engg.
(Thermal)):
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical / Energy Science & Engg.
with a minimum CPI of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent (60% of aggregate
marks).
(vi) M. Tech. (Civil Engg.
(Infrastructure Engg. & Management)):
B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Civil Engg. / Environmental Engg. /
Construction Technology/Planning with a minimum CPI of 6.5 on a 10 point scale
or equivalent (60% of aggregate marks).

Important Dates:

Date of Written Test for M. Tech. : 20 June 2013, 10 am to 12 noon
Date of Personal interview for M. Tech.: 20
June 2013 from 2.15 pm onwards for the candidates shortlisted from the test
result. The interview process may continue even on 21 June 2013.
Date of Written Test for Ph. D. : 25 June 2013, 9-30 am to 11-30 am
Date of Personal interview for Ph. D.: 25 June
2013 from 1.30 noon onwards. The interview process may continue even on 26 June 2013.
