The Association of Managements of Unaided Private Medical and Dental Colleges (AMUMDC), Maharashtra will hold the All India Common Entrance Test (Asso CET 2009) for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BPTh/BOTh/B.Sc Nursing courses, on 24th May, 2009 (Sunday) at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Dhule, Jalgon, Ahmednagar, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Aurangabad, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Akola, Amravati and Nagpur, Delhi, Nioda, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kota, Indore, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Hyderabd, Bangalore and  Kolkata.
Availability of seats (provisional) are as follows: MBBS: 1070 in 11 colleges; BDS: 1780 (21 Colleges); BAMS: 1675 (34); B.PTh: 855 (24); B.O.Th: 60 (2); B.Sc Nursing: 1935 (44).

Applicant must have been born on or before 31.12.1992 and must have passed the HSC (10+2/Equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 50% for Open category & 40% for reserved categories. Those appearing for the qualifying examinations in March 2009 are also eligible subject to their fulfilling the eligibility conditions later.

The CET will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions from Physics (5) Chemistry (50) and Biology (100). Correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. There is no negative marking.

Application forms and Information Brochure will be available at all Private Medical and Dental Colleges and other notified centres (to be displayed at www.amupmdc.org) from 1st March 2009 to 10th April, 2009 on payment of Rs.500/- by way of DD. It will be available at selected branches of Punjab National Bank on payment of Rs.500/- by cash. It can be obtained by Post from AMUPMDC office at Shreeji House, 75 Mint Road, Fort, Mumbai-400 001, by submitting an additional DD for Rs.200/- towards postal charges. Examination Fee is Rs.1500/- to be paid by way of DD. All DDs are to be taken in favour of 'AMUPMDC', payable at Mumbai.

The last date for submission of filled up applications is 10th April, 2009. It can be submitted with a late fee of Rs.500/- till 15th April, 2009.

Applications have been invited by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi for admission to the various academic programmes for the year 2009-10.

Admissions are based on Common Admission Test (CAT)/ Test for Lateral Entry (LET)/Departmental Admission Test (DAT), depending on the course applied for.
CAT for admission to B.Tech and Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics will be conducted on 24th May 2009 (Sunday) at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Allahabad, Jamshedpur, Kota and all district head quarters of Kerala.

CAT for all PG Programmes (except M.A. Hindi & M.A. Applied Economics) will be held on 23rd May 2009 (Saturday). CAT for M. A. Hindi, L.L.B. (Hons.) and M. A. Applied Economics will be held on 24th May, 2009.

CAT for PG Programmes/LL.B will be conducted only in District head quarters of Kerala.

LET for B. Tech Lateral Entry will be on 30th May 2009 (Saturday) at Kochi only.
The B.Tech Programmes offered by the University with the academic eligibility etc are as follows: 

B.Tech: (Civil/Computer Science & Engg/Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Information Technology/Mechanical/Safety & Fire/Polymer Science & Engineering) & 5-Year Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics: Pass in Plus Two Examination, Kerala/equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry together.

B.Tech in Instrumentation Technology: Pass in Plus Two/Equivalent examination of any State/National Board with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry together, with at least 55% in Mathematics separately.

B.Tech in Marine Engg: Pass in Plus Two/equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for Mathematics (ii) 50% marks in English at 10th/12th standards. There is no relaxation in qualification For SC/ST candidates. Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply. The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September 2009. Eligibility for admission will be based on directions from the DG Shipping (India).

B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building: Pass in Plus Two, Kerala / equivalent with First Class securing 50% marks in Mathematics and in Mathematics , Physics and Chemistry together.

5 Year LL.B. (Hons) : Pass in Plus Two examination with 60% marks in Science/ Commerce or with 55% marks in Arts/ Humanities. Applicants should not have completed 21 years of age on 1.1.2009. SC/ST candidates need only pass marks in the qualifying examination except for B.Tech Marine Engineering.

The maximum age prescribed is 25 years as on 1st July 2009.

On-line applications will be considered from Non – Keralites for all B.Tech Programmes including Lateral Entry Programmes, 5 Year Integrated M.Sc in Photonics, 5 year LL.B (Hons.), Post Graduate Programmes, M.Tech Programmes (except M.Tech. Marine Bio-Technology), M.A Translation in German & Russian.

For M.Phil, Ph.D, Diploma and Certificate programmes, applications can be had from the concerned Departments/Schools/Centres either directly or by Post. Application fee for M.Phil & Ph.D. Programmes is Rs.750/- for General category and Rs. 375/- for SC/ST category. For Diploma & Certificate Programmes, application fee is Rs.100/- for General category and Rs.50/- for SC/ST category.

For B.Tech Lateral Entry, fee is Rs.750/- + Bank charges for General Category and Rs.375/- + Bank charges for SC/ST Category.

Last Date for online submission with late submission fee of Rs.500 is 25.03.2009 and with late submission fee of Rs.1000 is 31.03.2009.

If submitting application through APOnline, applicant should pay Rs.250/- in cash in any APOnline center (www.aponline.gov.in) and obtain a receipt. Application can be submitted at the same center through http://www.apeamcet.org without paying any additional charges towards internet facility, printing and postage for sending application except for A4 size cover. When details are provided, a registration number for future reference is generated.

The applicant has to take printout of filled in application and paste a colour photo graph of size 3.5cm x 4.5 cm at appropriate place in the application. After signing the application at the bottom of the photograph (not on the photograph) and also on the declaration, arrange it along with requisite enclosures as mentioned above along with APOnline receipt in A4 size cover and submit the same in APOnline center where payment of Rs.250/- has been made, latest by 5 pm on 18.03.2009 without late fee.

The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% (40 out of 160). However, for SC/ST applicants, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. Further, for admission into MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of EAMCET entrance examination, candidate must  have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC).

The candidates who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry of the qualifying examination.
