The Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test 2009 (EAMCET-2009), conducted by JNT University, Hyderabad, on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), for admission to various Professional courses offered in Government/Private Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, will be held on 14.5.2009 (Thursday). The Examination for Engineering stream (E) will be from 10 am to 1 pm and that for the Medicine Stream (AM) from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

The Courses included in different categories is as follows:

Agriculture and Medical Category: B.V.Sc. & A.H, B.Sc. (Ag.), B.Sc.(Hort.), B.Sc(CA&BM), B.F.Sc, B.Tech (Food Science and Tech) (Bi.P.C), B.Sc (Commercial Agri. & Business Mgt) (Bi.P.C), MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, B.Pharm (Bi.P.C.), B.Tech. (Bio-Technology), Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy)
Engineering Category: B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharm(M.P.C), B.Tech (Ag.Engg.), B.Tech. (Dairy), B.Tech (FS & T), B.Sc (CA & BM), Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy)

For admission to Medical courses, applicant should be Indian National and should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh satisfying local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

For B.VSc & A.H. / B.Sc(Ag) / B.Sc(Hort) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech(FS&T) / B.Sc (CA&BM) courses, applicant should have passed/appeared for the final year of Intermediate examination (10+2) or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education A.P., with any two/three of the subjects indicated against each course noted below
(a) B.Sc (Ag.): (i) Physical Sciences (ii) Biological or Natural Sciences (iii) Agriculture (iv) Vocational Course in Agriculture
(b) B.Sc.(Hort): (i) Physical Sciences (ii) Biological or Natural Sciences (iii) Agriculture (iv) Vocational Course in Agriculture
(c) B.V.Sc. &A.H: (i) Physical Sciences (ii) Biological or Natural Sciences (iii) Vocational Courses in Veterinary Sciences
(d) B.F.Sc: (i) Physical Sciences (ii) Biological or Natural Sciences (iii) Vocational Courses in Fishery Sciences
(e) B.Tech(FS&T): (i) Mathematics (ii) Physical Sciences OR (i) Physical Sciences (ii) Biological or Natural sciences
(f) B.Sc(CA &BM): (i)Mathematics (ii) Physical Sciences OR (i) Physical Sciences (ii) Biological or Natural Sciences
Irrespective of the subjects taken at the qualifying examination, candidates seeking admission to the above courses should appear for Biology, Physics and Chemistry in EAMCET -2009(AM Category)

Candidates should complete 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009. Upper age limit is 22 years for all the candidates. It is 25 years in respect of SC/ST candidates as on 31.12.2009.

For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BNYS Courses, applicant should have passed/appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional including practical test in these subjects OR any examination (10+2) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry including practical test in each of these subjects, recognized as equivalent to Intermediate by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad.  Applicant should complete 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009. There is no upper age limit.

For B. Pharm Course, applicant should have passed/appeared for the final year of the Intermediate examination (10+2) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education as equivalent thereto. Candidates should complete 16 years of age by the date of commencement of admission or on such other date as may be notified by the CET committee. There is no upper age limit.

For B.Tech (Bio-Technology) Course, applicant should have passed/appeared for the final year of the Intermediate examination (10+2) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optionals, along with the bridge course examination in Mathematics conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education; Govt. of A.P.

For Pharm-D Course, applicant should have passed/appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto or should have passed/appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Pharmacy course conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical  Education and training or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should have completed 17 years of age on 31.12.2009.

Engineering:
Applicant should be of Indian Nationality. He/She should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order, 1974 as subsequently amended.

For Engineering, B.Pharmacy (M.P.C), B.Tech (Dairying), B.Tech (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology (FS&T)), B.Sc (Commercial Agriculture & Business Management- CA&BM) courses, applicant should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidates enrolled during 2000-2002 and subsequent batches, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh OR should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, A.P.

In the case of Engineering, Pharmacy courses, applicant should have completed 16 years of age by the date of commencement of   admissions or on such other date as may be notified by the Common Entrance Test committee. There is no upper age limit.

In the case of B.Tech (Dairying), B.Tech (Ag Engineering), B.Tech (FS&T) and B.Sc (CA & BM) offered in Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009. Upper age limit will be 22 years for all applicants and 25 years in respect of SC/ST applicants as on 31.12.2009.

For Pharm-D course candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh as equivalent thereto or should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Pharmacy course conducted by the Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical  Education and Training. Applicant should have completed 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009.

Application:
Application can be submitted through the 'Offline' mode or the 'Online' mode. Attested copies of the following documents must be submitted either in online or offline submission. (a) Hall ticket of qualifying examination (b) Marks memos of qualifying examination if already passed the qualifying examination (c) Caste certificate in case of SC/ST/BC candidates (d) Study or Residence or Relevant certificate for proof of local status (e) Certificate of Proof of Age.

Offline Submission:
The filled in application form for the entrance test, along with requisite enclosures should be submitted preferably in person at the venue of the Regional Centre (See http://www.apeamcet.org/rcenters.html) opted by the candidate and the Acknowledgement Card with Registration No. obtained. It may also be send by Registered Post to the Convener, EAMCET-2009, SIT Building, Cellar portion, J.N.T. University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad - 500 085 so as to reach latest by 5 pm on 18.3.2009 without late fee. Candidates sending their application by Post should indicate the Name of the Regional Centre on the envelope. Those who are submitting the application after 18.03.2009 must attach a D.D. in favour of the Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) towards late fee.

The Last date for submission of application at Convener's Office, Hyderabad only, with late fees of (i) Rs. 500/- is 25.3.2009 (ii) Rs. 1000/- is 31.03.2009 (iii) Rs. 5,000/- (in person only) is 7.5.2009 and (iv) Rs. 10,000/-, in person only, is 12.05.2009.

The details of D.D. should be mentioned in the space provided on the top of envelope. For applications submitted with late fee of Rs.10,000/-, test center will be allotted at Hyderabad/ Secunderabad only. Last Date of Sale of Applications is 31.03.2009. Applications will be available only in Convener's office, Hyderabad after 31.03.2009.

Online Submission:
Online application for EAMCET-2009 can be submitted either after taking Demand Draft or through APOnline.  For online submission applicant has to purchase a DD for Rs. 250/- in favour of Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) payable at Hyderabad. By visiting the link http://www.apeamcet.org/onlineform.html, applicant can submit the details asked, following which a registration number for future reference will be generated. Applicant has to take the printout of filled in application and paste a colour photo graph of size 3.5cm x4.5 cm at appropriate place in the application. After signing the application at the bottom of the photograph (not on the photograph) and also on the declaration, it has to be arranged along with requisite enclosures and Demand Draft (with name and registration number written on the back side of DD) in A4 size cover and sent to the Convener, EAMCET-2009, SIT Building, Cellar portion, J.N.T. University Hyderabad, Kukatpally, Hyderabad-500085 by Regd. Post., so as to reach there latest by 5 pm on 18.03.2009 without late fee.

Those who are submitting the application 'online' after 18.03.2009 must send a D.D for late fee also, taken in favour of Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) payable at Hyderabad with the details of D.D mentioned on the top of envelope. Last Date for online submission with late submission fee of Rs.500 is 25.03.2009 and with late submission fee of Rs.1000 is 31.03.2009.

If submitting application through APOnline, applicant should pay Rs.250/- in cash in any APOnline center (www.aponline.gov.in) and obtain a receipt. Application can be submitted at the same center through http://www.apeamcet.org without paying any additional charges towards internet facility, printing and postage for sending application except for A4 size cover. When details are provided, a registration number for future reference is generated.

The applicant has to take printout of filled in application and paste a colour photo graph of size 3.5cm x 4.5 cm at appropriate place in the application. After signing the application at the bottom of the photograph (not on the photograph) and also on the declaration, arrange it along with requisite enclosures as mentioned above along with APOnline receipt in A4 size cover and submit the same in APOnline center where payment of Rs.250/- has been made, latest by 5 pm on 18.03.2009 without late fee.

The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% (40 out of 160). However, for SC/ST applicants, no minimum qualifying mark is prescribed. Further, for admission into MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of EAMCET entrance examination, candidate must  have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together both at qualifying and EAMCET examination (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC).

The candidates who have secured qualifying marks in EAMCET and candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST, for whom qualifying marks have not been prescribed, shall be assigned ranking in the order of merit on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75% weightage to the marks secured in EAMCET and 25% weightage to the marks secured in the relevant group subjects namely Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry of the qualifying examination.
