Commissioner For Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala, has invited applications for the Entrance Examination for Admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Nursing (MSc Nursing) for 2009-10 in the Nursing Colleges at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode in (i) Medical Surgical Nursing (ii) Community Health Nursing (iii) Child Health Nursing (iv) Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing (v) Mental Health Nursing Specialties.

Applicant should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin and should have Bachelors Degree in Nursing of Kerala/Calicut/Kannur/Mahatma Gandhi University or Degree recognized by them as equivalent from any other University. Candidates who have passed the Post Basic BSc Nursing (Regular Course) or equivalent after General Nursing and Midwifery Course are also eligible to apply. Applicant should have one year experience as on the last date of submission of application form, in any hospital with an average strength of 100 inpatients or in a School of Nursing or in a Community Health Nursing Programme or internment after Registration with the State Nursing Council. However, the students of BSc Nursing 2003 admission batch, who have undergone compulsory internship in Government Medical Colleges/other institutions approved by the Government, will be considered for admission to the MSc Nursing Course, even if they have not completed one year internship on the last date of submission of application. They should complete internship on or before 15th June 2009. Applicants shall have obtained registration with Kerala Nursing Council at the time of Counseling. The experience acquired by candidates after registration from Nursing Councils outside Kerala, after getting B Sc Nursing Degree will also be counted for experience. The period undergone by a candidate for completing the Post Basic Nursing Course will not be reckoned as work experience.

Selection of Candidates except for 'Service Quota' will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the CEE, at Thiruvananthapuram on 19.07.2009 (Sunday). The Entrance examination will be of 3 hours duration with 200 Multiple Choice Questions.

Application forms are different for General/Service candidates and for candidates belonging to SC/ST. The format of the Application and Prospectus will be available at www.cee-kerala.org. Those seeking admission to the course through the entrance examination, can apply in the specific format along with the documents prescribed in the prospectus and a fee of Rs.800/- (General) / Rs.400/- (SC/ST), remitted in favour of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Thiruvananthapuram in any branch of SBT using the chalan provided along with the down loaded application form. The original chalan receipt should be attached with the application form. Applicants of Kerala origin who reside outside the state can apply in the downloaded application form along with the Demand Draft for Rs. 800/- (General) and Rs. 400/- (SC/ST) drawn on a Nationalised Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Service candidates who wish to be considered for the General merit quota seats can appear for the Entrance Examination. They should forward the application to the CEE as in the case of general candidates, but through their Controlling Officer/Head of the Department on or before 25.06.2009 (Thursday). However they should send a copy of the application form to the controlling officer concerned, if they are to be considered for service quota also along with necessary fee, as applicable in both the applications as specified. Service candidates claiming lecturer quota seats need not appear for the Entrance Examination. They should submit the application in the format available at www.cee-kerala.org to the Director of Medical Education/Director of Health Services before the stipulated date. They should remit the application fee of Rs.800/- (General) and Rs.400/- (SC/ST) by chalan in the Treasury under the Head of Account `0210–03–105–29' and the chalan receipt should be attached with the application form.

Completed application with all documents specified in the Prospectus and experience certificate, should reach Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram-695 001, either by Registered post/Speed post/hand delivery before 5 pm on 25.06.2009 (Thursday). Candidates applying under Service quota should send their applications and all required documents specified in the Prospectus to the Director of Medical Education/ Director of Health Services, Thiruvananthapuram, so as to reach him/her before 5 pm on 25.06.2009. Candidates applying for admission under Service quota seats only, need not submit their applications to the CEE.

The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, publish the Rank list of all candidates admitted for the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education. The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Lecturer Quota will be made by the Director of Medical Education, based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus.

Eligibility criteria

However, they will be issued Roll numbers only if they furnish the certificates of their having passed the examination (15 days by Post/5 days by hand) before the date of entrance test. B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Basic): Applicant must have passed 10+2 or any other examination or its equivalent thereto and should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife qualified from a recognized institute and registered with respective State Nursing Council as approved by I.N.C or substitute registration in case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children. In case, the candidate is in service, the application should be routed through the employer.

M.Sc. Nursing: B.Sc. Nursing/B.Sc (Hons) Nursing/B.Sc Nursing (Post-Basic) or any other Degree from Institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the Punjab University as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
Applicant should have at least 1 year of work experience by 15th July, 2009 in Bedside Nursing or Public Health Nursing or in nursing educational institutions recognized by the Indian Nursing Council after Basic B.Sc. Nursing or before and after Post- Basic B.Sc. Nursing. Applicant should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife as approved by I.N.C or substitute registration in the case of male candidates fully qualified for nursing of men, women and children. In case, the candidate is in service, the application should be routed through the employer.

The Online Registration of applicants for admission to the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram-695022, will commence on 4th June, 2009 at http://www.iist.ac.in/ and www.isac.gov.in/iist.
IIST offers admission to the 4-year B.Tech Programmes in Avionics (65 seats), Aerospace Engineering (52 seats) and Physical Sciences (39 seats).

Those placed in the Regular and Extended Merit List of IIT-JEE 2009 are eligible to register their names online during 4th June to 26th June 2009.

A combined list of students from the Regular Merit List and Extended List will be generated in the order of merit, based on the online registration. The publication of Merit list for counseling will be done in the website on 29th June, 2009. Those who have opted for any programme in any of the IITs or the affiliated institutions like IT BHU Varanasi, ISMU Dhanbad etc will not be included in the IIST Merit List.

Allocation of seats and issue of Admit Cards will be based on Personal Counselling to be held on 20th & 21st July 2009 at Thiruvananthapuram. Reservation Policy of the Govt. as applicable to Institutions of Higher Learning will be followed.

Admission formalities will be completed at Thiruvananthapuram on 24th & 25th August 2009. First Semester Classes begin on 26th August 2009.

Students graduating from IIST with minimum specified academic performance will be absorbed in the Indian Space Research Organization as Scientists/Engineers. Financial assistance will be available to all students to meet complete cost of education, boarding and lodging. All students will get a book grant of Rs.3000/- per semester.

Central Counseling Board (CCB)-2009 has announced the schedule for admissions to the Participating Institutions of AIEEE 2009. The allotment process this year is fully online. The first stage of allotment process involves the filling of choices of Courses and Colleges by those candidates who have been declared eligible for counseling on the basis of AIEEE-2009 results and the second stage is going to  one of the notified centres for remote reporting.

The filling of choices of Courses and Colleges involves the following steps
(i) Entering the website
www.ccb.nic.in
(ii) Registering
(iii) Creating a Password
(iv) Verification of personal data and making permitted corrections if any
(v) Choice filling and logging out of the website
(vi) Examining Mock allotments
(vii) Altering Choices if needed
(viii) Locking choices within the scheduled time

Entering the website: During the period from June 8, 2009 to June 28, 2009, all candidates who are permitted to fill choices on the basis of AIEEE-2009 results are required to log on to the website www.ccb.nic.in from any computer having Internet facility from any place of their convenience to register ONLINE.

Registering: The candidate after logging on to www.ccb.nic.in should click on 'Registration' link. Engineering and Architecture streams will appear on the computer screen. The candidate has to click on the desired stream. The candidate will have to register as a new candidate by clicking on 'New candidate!! Register here' link. The candidate should read the instructions given on the screen and then click on 'Register'. The registration process involves the entering of (a) Name (b) Roll number (c) Application number (d) Date of Birth of the candidate as in the Admit card. The data entered by the candidate will be verified with the AIEEE-2009 data base of CBSE. The candidate will be permitted to proceed further only if it matches.

Creating a Password:  On successful submission of Personal data, candidate is required to give his/her own password, the length of which must be 8 characters and which must be a combination of alphabets (small or capital), numerals and special characters. Password will be case sensitive. Candidates should record/remember their password for all future Logins. Confidentiality of the password is the sole responsibility of the candidate and all care must be taken to protect its security. Candidates should not disclose or share their password with anybody. If a candidate forgets his/her password, the additional information provided by the candidate at the time of registration will be used to get the new password. Hence, every candidate has to enter the required additional information as indicated in the registration form at the time of registration. A candidate can change his/her password after login, if desired.

Verification of personal data: After login, the personal data of the candidate will automatically appear on the screen as per AIEEE-2009 data base, which must be verified by the candidate. If there is any discrepancy, the candidate will be allowed only once to change his/her personal data of category, sub-category, etc. in the following ways:

Category can be changed from SC/ST/OBC to 'Open' but not vice versa. Sub Category can be changed from SCPH to SC, STPH to ST, OBCPH to OBC and OPPH to OP, but not vice versa. State of eligibility as per the qualifying examination can be changed. Change of gender is permitted if it is wrongly mentioned.

Candidates must enter their address for correspondence. Candidates may also enter their phone number, mobile number, email, etc. In case a candidate desires to get his/her provisional seat allotment result through SMS, candidate must enter mobile number.

The following changes are not permissible under any circumstances (i) Candidate's name (ii) Mother's name (iii) Father's name and (iv) Date of birth

Candidate can take a printout of the registration form with the above personal data. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to verify his/her personal data, including category, subcategory, state of eligibility and gender as per documentary evidence. If the personal data verified and submitted by the candidate is found to be wrong at the time of verification of certificates during remote reporting or at a later stage, the provisional allotment of seat is liable to be cancelled. Once this personal data is verified and submitted, the candidate will not be allowed to change the personal data under any circumstances.

Choice filling and logging out of the website: Online choice filling and locking of choices of Institutions and Courses can be carried out from June 08, 2009 to June 28, 2009. During this stage, all registered candidates are required to exercise their choices of their branches and institutions in their order of preference. The procedure for exercising choices and seeking pertinent information is guided through appropriate messages and tabs on the computer screen. As per the eligibility of the candidate, available seat information relating to institutions, disciplines (Engineering/Technology and Architecture/Planning), branches (e.g., Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) will be displayed. The candidate can give as much number of choices in the order of preference as he/she wishes from the list of available seats. The candidates are permitted, if they so desire, to change or re-order their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their choices latest by 11.55 pm on June 28, 2009. After registration, candidate can login any time directly, with Roll number as login ID and the chosen password as Password. Whenever candidates log in, they have to LOGOUT at the end.

Mock allotments: Indicative seat allotment will be done between June 08, 2009 and June 24, 2009, based on the number of registered candidates who have submitted their choices at that time and will be put on the website at frequent intervals. This indicative seat allotment (Mock counselling) will facilitate the selection of the most appropriate discipline, institution and branch at the candidate's rank, state of eligibility and in their categories for finalization of their choices for locking. The dates of update of indicative seat allocation will be displayed on the website during this period. All the candidates are strongly advised to register and fill their choices during June 8, 2009 to June 24, 2009 to know the indicative seat allotment.

Altering Choices: Changing/Re-ordering/Deleting earlier choices /adding new choices if needed may be carried out any number of times until the choices are locked latest by 11.55 pm on June 28, 2009. The indicative seat allotment (Mock counselling) will facilitate the selection of the most appropriate discipline, institution and branch at the candidate's rank, state of eligibility and in their categories for finalization of their choices for locking.

Locking the Choices:  After filling the choices in the order of preference, the candidate must lock his/her choices before 11.55 pm on June 28, 2009. Without locking, the choices will not be processed for seat allotment. However, candidates may lock their choices well in advance instead of waiting till the dead line. If a candidate fails to lock his/her choices by 11.55 pm on June 28, 2009, the choices filled by the candidate will not be considered for seat allotment, and the candidate shall forego his/her right for consideration of his/her candidature for seat allotment. After locking of the choices, a printable version of the choices will be displayed.

1. 2. Eligibility for Admission: (a) Nativity
(i) The applicant should be an Indian citizen

(iii)Should have done at least one year compulsory rural service/senior residency / Government Service in any of the Government Medical Colleges/Government Hospitals in Kerala.

(iv)In case sufficient number of candidates fulfilling the condition as per (iii) above is not available, candidates who are otherwise qualified will also be considered, based on the merit in the entrance test.
(v)Only candidates who have passed out from the Medical Colleges in Kerala will be first considered for preparation of rank list. In case, sufficient number of candidates in the above category is not available for admission for any reason, candidates from other states will be considered for the balance seats, based on the merit in the entrance test.

(b) Academic qualifications:
(i) M.B.B.S. Degree

(ii) Appropriate Post Graduate Degree (MD/MS) or appropriate Diploma of National
Board. The M.D./M.S. Degree should be obtained from any University in Kerala or from Universities outside Kerala in which case they should be recognized as equivalent by Universities in Kerala. Service candidates who have appeared or appearing for MD / MS Examination can also apply. They should submit their P G Degree Certificate at the time of Counseling.

(iii)Registration: Candidates should have got their M B B S and P G Degrees registered permanently with State [T. C.] Medical Council and the proof should be submitted at the time of Counseling.

(iv)Age: Upper age limit for General Merit Candidates will be 45 years and it will be 47 years for Service Candidates, as on the last date of submission of Application (13.06.2009).

3. Selection and Entrance Examination:
Candidates desirous of being considered against General seats will have to appear for the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Thiruvananthapuram. All General Merit quota candidates shall have to qualify the Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala by securing minimum of 50% marks. For Service candidates the eligibility will be as per the provisions of Kerala Medical Officers Admission to Post Graduate Courses under service quota Act 2008.Accordingly the selection of service candidates will be based on the seniority in service and they do not have to appear for the Entrance Examinations. The Entrance Examination will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram on 27.06.2009 (Saturday) and 28.06.2009 (Sunday). It will consist of two Papers, each of one and half hours duration and the questions will be of objective type (Multiple Choice Questions). Appearance in Paper I and II of the Entrance Examination is compulsory for admission to the course. Details regarding the courses, eligibility are given in the Prospectus issued by the Director of Medical Education (DME).

4. Application forms: Prospectus and Application form will be available from 23.05.2009 onwards in the website "www.cee-kerala.org" (See Clause VII of the Prospectus). The Application procedure is common for General and Service candidates. Candidates seeking admission to this course can apply in the on line application form provided in the website www.cee-kerala.org  of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and then remit the required fee at any SBT Branch. Candidates residing outside Kerala state can remit the application fee by way of demand Draft drawn from any nationalized bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Application fee for General/Service candidates is Rs.1500/-. Service candidates who seek admission under General Quota also, should pay a total amount of Rs.3000/- [Please see Clause VII (a)]. Application forms will not be sold from the office of the CEE or office of the DME. Application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates, seeking admission should take a print out of the application form, affix passport size photograph duly attested by the candidates in the space provided, and forward their completed application with all the required documents, including original bank voucher, mentioned in clause VII (d) of the prospectus to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001, either by Registered Post, by Speed Post or Hand Delivery so as to reach him before 5 pm on 13.06.2009 [Saturday]. Applicants to Service quota seats should complete all the procedures mentioned in clause VII (a), (b) & (c). However, instead of forwarding the printout of the application form to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, the service quota candidates are required to forward the application along with copies of all required documents, to their Controlling Officer as stipulated in the Prospectus, on or before 13.06.2009. Service candidates seeking admission in General Merit quota will have to forward the application form both to the Controlling Officer and Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. Late, defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be undertaken in this regard. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal delay.


5. Candidates will not be allowed, either to include any information in the application form or to submit any certificates / documents claiming reservation or any benefits, after the submission of the application, under any circumstances. Candidates must note that, they have to obtain the required certificates in the body of the application form itself, wherever specified. The certificates that are attached separately along with the application form will not be considered under any circumstances.

6. The CEE will conduct the Entrance Examination, prepare and publish the rank list of Candidates who qualify in the Entrance Examination and forward the same to the Director of Medical Education. The rank list will be made available in the website "cee-kerala.org".


7. The selection, admission and allotment of seats including those under Service Quota will be made by the DME through a Centralized Allotment Process [CAP] and will be based on various provisions laid down in the Prospectus, approved by the Government of Kerala.

8. Candidates may go through the various provisions of the Prospectus available in the Official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at "www.cee-kerala.org", before filling up the "On-line application forms".

Master of Business Administration (MBA) is offered in General Management, Technology Management, Financial Services Management, Retail Management, Health Services Management and Human Resources Management.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme lays emphasis on areas like Call Centre Management, E-Learning, Trading and Equity Management, Health Care Management and Banking Technology.

Master of Science (MSc) course is offered in Information Technology.

Selection to the Programmes is through an Entrance Test. Written Entrance Examinations will be held within Tamil Nadu state only. Outside Tamil Nadu, the entrance test will be in Online Mode at selected centres, subject to availability of minimum number of candidates. The dates for online entrance test at those centres shall be fixed in coordination with the respective centres and the same will be intimated to candidates.  Candidates desiring to change their option from written entrance test mode to online test mode or vice versa have to pay an additional fee of Rs.500/- in the form of a Demand Draft.

Candidates for admission to the first semester of the Master's Degree Programmes shall be required to have passed an appropriate Bachelor Degree Examination of a recognized University as specified or any other examination of any recognized University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University Chennai as equivalent thereto.

For MBA, eligibility is any Bachelor Degree (10+2+3 pattern) and a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai.

For admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (6 semesters), applicant should have any Bachelor Degree (10+2+3 pattern) and should have studied Core Mathematics either at +2 level or Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Oriented subject as one of the subjects at the Degree level and should have passed in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai.

For admission to M.Sc (Information Technology), applicant should have passed B.Sc Mathematics/ Computer Science /Information Technology /Software Engineering/Electronics or B.Sc (Physics/Statistics/Chemistry)/B.E.S with Mathematics or Computer Science as allied subject Or B.Sc Applied Sciences (Computer Technology/Information Technology/Computer Systems Maintenance and Networking) or B.C.A or B.E/ B.Tech (any branch) and should have passed the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai.

TANCET score is also valid for admission to MBA/MCA of distance education. However candidates have to send application and admission is subject to validity of TANCET score. Candidates with AMIE or similar qualification awarded by Professional Institutes approved by MHDR are also eligible for admission to MBA/MCA Degree programme, if they have 2 years experience after obtaining AMIE or similar certificates and a valid appropriate score in TANCET or entrance test conducted by the Centre for Distance Education.

Candidates selected through entrance test are eligible for admission in any one of the programmes MBA/MCA/MSc in any one of immediate two successive batches of admission.  (Calendar Year batch or Academic Year batch). Candidates need to submit only one application form indicating the choice of programme(s).

The Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology has invited applications upto 20th June  2009 for admission to the BSc Nursing, BSc MLT, Bachelor of Physiotherapy  (BPT) and B.Pharm courses being conducted at the Government Medical, Nursing Colleges; Government Controlled Self  Financing Colleges etc.  There  is no  entrance examination. Selection is based on  marks  obtained  in the qualifying examination. Government seats and Management seats are available for these four year courses.

Eligibility : Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent examinations with 50% marks in biology separately and 50% marks in  Physics, Chemistry and Biology  put together  are eligible for admission to BSc Nursing, BPT, BSc MLT and BPT courses. For admission to B.Pharm course, those who have passed 50%  marks in Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science  separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and  Biology / Mathematics / Biotechnology / Computer Science  put together  are eligible.

SEBC applicants whose annual income is not exceeding Rs. 4.5 lakhs are eligible to get relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. SC / ST applicants need only have  pass mark.  Should be completed 17 years of age as on 31.12.2009.

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), Fursatganj Airfield, Raebareli District, Uttar Pradesh-229302, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, has invited applications for admission to the Ab-initio to Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Course of 15 months duration commencing in December, 2009. The programme envisages ground and flying training for issue of CPL with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft. Of the 60 seats, 30 are under General category, 9 under SC, 5 under ST and 16 under OBC category.

Applicant should have passed 10+2/equivalent with Physics, Mathematics & English as main subjects. General category applicants should have passed English at 10+2 level and should have 55% marks in each of Mathematics and Physics. SC/ST/OBC applicants should have passed English at 10+2 level and should have 50% marks in each of Mathematics and Physics. For those General category applicants possessing higher qualification with Mathematics and Physics as subjects, the minimum qualifying marks in each of Physics and Mathematics will be 50%.

Minimum age limit is 17 years at the time of joining the course.

Training fee is Rs.24.60 Lakhs payable in four installments. Hostel accommodation within the campus and Messing is provided on monthly charges of approximately Rs. 5000/-.

Selection procedure consists of a Written Test, Pilot Aptitude Test (WOMBAT), Viva and Interview. The Written Test will be held on 2nd August, 2009 (Sunday) from 10:30 hrs at (i) Bangalore (ii) Delhi (iii) Kolkatta  (iv) Lucknow and (v) Mumbai. Applicants can opt for two centers in the application in the order of preference. The Written Test will have objective type questions only, from General English, Mathematics, Physics & Reasoning of 10+2 level. General category applicants need 60% marks and SC/ST/OBC applicants, 55% marks in Written Test to qualify for the next stage. The numbers of short listed candidates after written examination will not be more than three times of the total seats in respective category and the same will be selected in order of merit irrespective of the number of candidates who qualify in the written exam. Intimation regarding examination centre will be sent by Courier/ Post directly to the candidates. Result of Written Test and Schedule of Pilot Aptitude Test/Interviews will be available at http://www.igrua.gov.in/   after 12th August, 2009.

The Pilot Aptitude Test (WOMBAT) will be conducted at Delhi, for candidates from Delhi and neighboring states from 19th August, 2009. For other candidates, the test will be held at IGRUA, Raebareli from 7th September, 2009. Minimum qualifying marks for Pilot Aptitude Test is 70%.  There is no relaxation in marks for SC/ST/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude Test.

Interview and viva for all successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude Test will be conducted at IGRUA, Raebareli from 8th September, 2009.

Candidates will be required to produce following documents in original at the time of interview:
        (i)  Proof of Date of Birth ( such as 10th Class certificate )
        (ii) 10+2 Mark sheet
        (iii) Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
        (iv) Creamy Layer Certificate for OBC Candidates

Common Entrance Test 2009 - BA (Hons) Business Economics

Admission to the BA (Honours) Business Economics course shall be based on a merit list prepared through weightage given equally to the marks obtained in the 10+2 examination and performance in the Combined Entrance Test conducted by the University of Delhi.

 

Entrance Test will be conducted on Sunday, 21 June 2009 at 10:00 am

 

The intake capacity of each college is a maximum of 54 students.

Eligibility: General Category

The candidate must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) of the

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi with pass in 4 subjects (English,

Mathematics and two Elective Subjects) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto, with 55% or more marks in the aggregate of these four subjects. Rounding of fraction of a mark to determine eligibility is not permissible.

The four subjects considered are all from the academic stream. They are:

(1) English

(2) Mathematics or Business Mathematics

(3) and (4) any two from among the following:

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Commerce, Accountancy, Computer Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy and Biotechnology.

No subjects from the vocational stream or subjects from the academic stream not listed above, would be considered for calculating the aggregate of Class XII marks.

Candidates who do not fulfill the above eligibility conditions will neither be admitted to the course nor permitted to appear in the Combined Entrance Test.

 

Reserved Categories

The eligibility conditions are the same as in (a) above except in the following:

1.      Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories shall be allowed 5% relaxation of the marks in the minimum eligibility requirements. A separate merit list will be drawn for these students for the purpose of 15% and 7.5% reservation respectively.
2.      Candidates belonging to OBC category shall be provided at least 18% of the total seats as per norms set by the University of Delhi and a separate merit list will be drawn for the purpose.
3.      5% of the total seats will be offered to CW category i.e. Children/widows/wives of armed forces personnel killed / disabled / died in action or on duty. They shall be permitted 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility condition.
4.      Candidates belonging to the physically challenged (PC) category shall be allowed 5% concession in the minimum eligibility condition for the test and separate merit list will be drawn for such students for the purpose of 3% reservation.
5.      5% of the seats are offered to foreign students. They shall apply to the Foreign Students Advisior, FMS, University of Delhi, Delhi - 110007 and are exempted from written examination. Other eligibility conditions remain unaltered.
6.      The numbers admitted under (3), (4), (5) are supernumerary.
7.      Candidates must produce certificate from the competent authority to claim benefits under the reserved categories.

Note:
1.      Candidates who have appeared in the annual examination of the qualifying examination and placed in the compartment will not be eligible for admission for the current year.
2.      Candidates who have appeared at the annual examination of the qualifying examination and subsequently reappear for improvement to acquire eligibility will not be considered for admission for the current year.

 

Issue of Bulletin of Information
Admission to BA (Hons.) Business Economics is centralized. The Deputy Controller of Examinations, University of Delhi South Campus, will conduct the Entrance Test with the help of the Department of Business Economics. The Bulletin of Information with the Application Form for Entrance Test will be available from offices of the ten colleges running this course, on payment of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC, ST and CW categories, on submission of a copy of certificate from competent authority); in cash/crossed bank draft in favour of the Principal, Ram Lal Anand College (Evening) payable at New Delhi. The last date for the issue of Bulletin of Information and submission of duly filled-in application is Monday, 15 June 2009. The timings would be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for morning colleges and 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for evening colleges.
For out-station candidates, the Bulletin of Information is available on the internet on the website www.businesseconomics-du.org from where the application form and admit cards can be downloaded and sent by post to the Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi South Campus, Benito Juarez Marg, New Delhi - 110021 with a crossed bank draft of Rs. 400/- (or Rs. 200, as applicable) as mentioned above. The candidate's copy of the admit card along with the Bulletin of Information will be sent to the candidate by post.
The ten colleges will be the examination centres for the Combined Entrance Test. The College where the candidate deposits the duly filled-in-application form alongwith self attested copy of XIIth Class Mark Sheet shall normally be the centre of examination. In case, the full capacity of the examination centre is reached, candidates would be allotted another centre. Such additional examination centres would be provided in case of need, and the same would be communicated through notices at the colleges. However, the Department reserves the right to withdraw any centre and to allot an alternative centre to the candidates.
In case of any false attestation or falsified records, the candidate will be debarred from attending any course in the University or its colleges for next five years and a criminal case will be instituted.

Procedure for Counseling

1.      Candidates will be called in order of rank and asked their preference of college from among the colleges in which seats are available at that stage. They will be allotted the college chosen by them from the ones available.

2.      The students will be issued admission slips. They can approach their allotted college and seek admission within two days of counselling and get admission as per university rules.

3.      Candidates who do not take admission during the stipulated time lose the right of admission to the course. Candidates not present when called to the counselling will not be entertained later.

4.      At the second and third counselling, admitted candidates will be permitted a change of college subject to availability of seats. No change of college shall be permitted after 14 July 2009.

5.      On 25 July, 1 August and 8 August, 2009, a notice on vacant seats (if any) will be put up on the websites along with ranks of eligible candidates and the procedure of seeking admission.

Fees:
Course fee for BA (Hons.) Business Economics is Rs 10,000/- per annum excluding charges levied by the individual colleges.

 

 

Refund of Course Fee

On withdrawal of admission, the course fee will be refunded in the following manner:

Upto 16th July 2008 — 100% Refund

From 17th July to 14th August 2008  — 50% Refund

After 14th August 2008   — No Refund
