Master of Business Administration (MBA) is offered in General Management, Technology Management, Financial Services Management, Retail Management, Health Services Management and Human Resources Management.
Master of Computer Applications (MCA) Programme lays emphasis on areas like Call Centre Management, E-Learning, Trading and Equity Management, Health Care Management and Banking Technology.
Master of Science (MSc) course is offered in Information Technology.
Selection to the Programmes is through an Entrance Test. Written Entrance Examinations will be held within Tamil Nadu state only. Outside Tamil Nadu, the entrance test will be in Online Mode at selected centres, subject to availability of minimum number of candidates. The dates for online entrance test at those centres shall be fixed in coordination with the respective centres and the same will be intimated to candidates. Candidates desiring to change their option from written entrance test mode to online test mode or vice versa have to pay an additional fee of Rs.500/- in the form of a Demand Draft.
Candidates for admission to the first semester of the Master's Degree Programmes shall be required to have passed an appropriate Bachelor Degree Examination of a recognized University as specified or any other examination of any recognized University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University Chennai as equivalent thereto.
For MBA, eligibility is any Bachelor Degree (10+2+3 pattern) and a pass in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai.
For admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) (6 semesters), applicant should have any Bachelor Degree (10+2+3 pattern) and should have studied Core Mathematics either at +2 level or Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Oriented subject as one of the subjects at the Degree level and should have passed in the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai.
For admission to M.Sc (Information Technology), applicant should have passed B.Sc Mathematics/ Computer Science /Information Technology /Software Engineering/Electronics or B.Sc (Physics/Statistics/Chemistry)/B.E.S with Mathematics or Computer Science as allied subject Or B.Sc Applied Sciences (Computer Technology/Information Technology/Computer Systems Maintenance and Networking) or B.C.A or B.E/ B.Tech (any branch) and should have passed the entrance test conducted by Anna University Chennai.
TANCET score is also valid for admission to MBA/MCA of distance education. However candidates have to send application and admission is subject to validity of TANCET score. Candidates with AMIE or similar qualification awarded by Professional Institutes approved by MHDR are also eligible for admission to MBA/MCA Degree programme, if they have 2 years experience after obtaining AMIE or similar certificates and a valid appropriate score in TANCET or entrance test conducted by the Centre for Distance Education.
Candidates selected through entrance test are eligible for admission in any one of the programmes MBA/MCA/MSc in any one of immediate two successive batches of admission. (Calendar Year batch or Academic Year batch). Candidates need to submit only one application form indicating the choice of programme(s).
Application forms can be obtained in person from Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai, Chennai-600 025 on payment of Rs.650/- by a Demand Draft.

Application forms can also be obtained by Post from 'The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai, Chennai-600 025', by sending a DD for Rs.700/- Blank application form can be downloaded from www.annauniv.edu/cde and the filled in application form may be submitted as directed.
Application can also be submitted online at www.annauniv.edu/cde after obtaining the Demand Draft for the appropriate amount. A printout of Application form has to be taken after submitting the details from the same computer from which the Application was filled and submitted with the Demand Draft for appropriate value. Demand Draft for appropriate amount has to be submitted (if applicable) along with the filled up Application based on the mode of procurement of Application and the number of courses applied for.
If the Application has been obtained in person from the Centre for Distance Education or obtained by Post or obtained in person from notified Study Centres outside Chennai, no DD is to be enclosed if applying for any one programme only of MBA/MCA/MSc. DD for Rs.600/- or Rs.1250/- is to be enclosed along with the filled up application, if applying for any two or three programmes respectively of MBA/MCA/MSc.
If downloaded application is used or if application is submitted online, DD for Rs.650/- or Rs.1250/- or Rs.1850/- is to be enclosed with the filled up application, if applying for any one or two or three programmes respectively of MBA/MCA/MSc.
All Demand Drafts are to be obtained from Nationalized Bank and are to be drawn in favour of 'The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai', payable at Chennai. Name, Communication Address and Mobile Number of the applicant should be written on the back side of the Demand Draft.
Last Date for Request of Applications by post for Academic Year 2009-10 Batch 10.06.2009.
Last Date for issue of Applications for Academic Year 2009-10 Batch is 24.06.2009
Filled in application form should reach 'The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai, Chennai-600025', latest by 24.06.2009.
The Written Entrance Test for MSc will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on 11.07.09, that for MBA from 10 am to 12 noon on 12.07.09 and that for MCA from 2 pm to 4 pm on 12.07.09. D
