Eligibility
Criteria:
i) Candidates having 1° class or equivalent
grade in Post B.Sc- B.Tech/ B. Tech/
BE or equivalent
degree, u) Candidates with 1"
class M.Tech/ME degree from any A1CTE recognized
Institute.
iii) Candidates having I4 class M.Sc
degree.

Entrance
Test (Applicable to candidates as mentioned in C.U. Ph.D. rule
2009):
• The
Ph.D. entrance test will be of Multiple Choice Question type and Short answer
question type. The examination will be of I (one) hour duration.
• The
questions of the Entrance Test will, in general, cover topics of Electrical
Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, basics of Physics, Electronics,
Communication Systems and Computer Science.
• The successful candidates will have to appear for an interview for
final selection.
• Declaration
of names of selected candidates to be notified later through Departmental
Notice Board (Subject to approval of the Honorable Vice Chancellor).
• No
TA/DA shall be paid to the candidate for appearing the Entrance Test or called
for the Interview.

* Filled in application forms, accompanied by the
counterpart of a challan (obtainable from the Cash Counter of the University at
the College Street campus) of Rs.100/- should be submitted to the office of the
Department of Applied Physics, 92, A. P.C.Road, Kolkata 700009 on all working
days between 12 Noon to 4 PM. The challan should necessarily be endorsed by the
HOD before deposition of fees at any Cash Counter of the University. **
Original documents may be asked for as and when required by the appropriate
authority *** Employed candidates are required to submit a no-objection
certificate from their present employer as and when required.
