Applications are invited by Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu for admission to the five year integrated courses offered by the university for the academic year 2015-2016.

Courses & Eligibility

1) Five Year Integrated BTech-MTech (Film and Electronic Media Studies):

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) / Intermediate Examination or its Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

2) Five Year Integrated BBA-MBA (Tourism and Hotel Management):

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) / Intermediate Examination or its Equivalent.

The upper age limit for admission will be 21 years as on 1st July 2015.

However,

i) a relaxation of 5 years is permitted for Physically Handicapped and

ii) a relaxation of 3 years is permitted for SC / ST / BC / MBC / DNC candidates and female candidates beyond 21 years for the admission.

d) Payment shall be made in the form of the demand draft drawn in favour of The Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University payable at Madurai.

Enclosures to be sent along with the filled-in application. The candidates have to submit the Photo copies of the following certificates duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the application form. Original certificates should not be sent.

i) SSLC (10th), +2 (HSC) / Intermediate Bonafide Student Certificate obtained from the Head of Institution shall be enclosed.

ii) Community Certificate obtained from Tahsildar / Deputy Tahsildar concerned. Otherwise it will not be taken into account.

iii) Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only) from the competent issuing authority.

iv) Certificate of Physically Handicapped / Leprosy cured; Candidates who want them to be considered under the Physically Handicapped category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with Photography showing the nature of handicap.

v) Ex- service man Certificate: Certificates to be produced.

vi) Sports category should produce the relevant certificate for having represented the State / Nation.

vii) Two self-addressed, stamped envelopes, each for Rs.10/- should be enclosed.

3. M.Sc., Biology

A pass in B.Sc., Degree with Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Triple major with Biology and allied subjects with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.

4. M.Sc., Chemistry

A pass in B. Sc. Chemistry / Special Chemistry / Applied Chemistry degree with Physics as one of the ancillaries and other any one of the ancillaries viz. Maths, Botany or Zoology with 55% of aggregate marks

5. M.Sc., Physics

A pass in any B.Sc. Physics /Applied Physics with 55% of aggregate marks in Part III

For SC/ST candidates a pass is required minimum.

Mode of payment:

The Registration fee should be paid only by a demand draft obtained after the date of advertisement and on or before the last date specified for receipt of filled in application drawn in favour of The Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai payable at Madurai.

SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for any one course only. For additional courses applied, prescribed Registration Fees should be paid. However, they have to send the xerox copy of the Community Certificate along with the application.

Students from professional courses such as MBBS, B.VSc, BDS, BPharm, BSc(Agriculture) and related subjects from a recognized Indian or Foreign University are also eligible.

3) MSc (Biochemical Technology-BCT)
A pass in BSc degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Genetics / Nutrition and Dietetics / Microbiology / Biology / Botany / Zoology/ Chemistry / Medical Laboratory Technology / Triple major with Biochemistry and allied subjects.

4) MSc (Sub-Aqua Marine Ecology & Toxicogenomics-SAM & TG)
Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in any branch of Life Sciences (Biology / Biochemistry / Botany / Zoology / Marine Biology / Microbiology / Bio-technology) or equivalent of a recognized Indian or Foreign University are eligible. Since the study involves underwater ecology, candidates need to have basic swimming skills.

III. TUITION FEES: (The fees for the courses are as follows)

IV. EXAMINATION FEES:

The prescribed examination fee for all the Certificate/Diploma/Higher Diploma/ Post-Graduate Diploma courses will have to be paid by the candidates at the time of submitting their examination application form.

V. DURATION OF THE COURSE:

The duration of all Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma and P.G. Diploma courses shall extend over a period of one full academic year (part-time). The number of working days will be 150 days.
