ABOUT NIFTEM: National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship
and Management (NIFTEM) was conceptualized by Government of India on persistent
demand of the food industry to have an Apex Organisation as a One Stop Solution
Provider for the various problems of the sector. Ministry of Food Processing Industries
(MoFPI). Government of India, has set up this institute with an initial
investment of about ^500 crore (US$125 million). The Institute is spread over
an area of 100 acres at a prime location in close proximity of Delhi-Haryana
border on NH-1 only 35 km from New Delhi Railway Station. NIFTEM has been
recognized as a Deemed to be University under De-novo Category by Ministry of
Human Resource Development under University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
Courses offered at NIFTEM are duly approved by All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE).

UNDER GRADUATE PROGRAMME
Four
years regular B. Tech. degree in Food Technology and Management leading to the
development of Techno-Manager for the food industries.
Eligibility:
Candidates who passed Class 12 Exam with Physics,
Mathematics and one of the subjects from Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer
Science, Biology.
Candidates
must be appearing in JEE (Main) -2015.
Selection
Process: Based on JEE (Main) All India Overall Rank.
Number

FIVE POST GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Two
years regular M. Tech. degree in
1. Food
Supply Chain Management
2. Food
Safety and Quality Management

Food Process Engineering and Management

Eligibility:
Four Years Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in relevant
discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
Selection
Process: Based on valid GATE score/ NIFTEM Entrance Test for Non GATE
candidates followed by Interview at NIFTEM.
Number
of seats: 18 in each M. Tech. programme. Due reservation is given to OBC
(NCL)/ SC/ ST/ Physically Challenged and Kashmiri migrants candidates as per
Government of India norms, provided they clearly mention their category in
application forms.
Ph. D. PROGRAMME
NIFTEM
offers Ph.D. programmes in following areas:

Eligibility:
Master's Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks.
Preference is given to NET qualified candidates.
Number
of seats: A total of 20 seats for Indian Nationals in five areas as above.
In each department, 2 additional seats for candidates holding JRF/ SRF/ Inspire
fellowships have been created.
Selection
Process: Through Research Entrance Test organized by NIFTEM at NIFTEM
campus, Kundli.
SCHOLARSHIP/FELLOWSHIP/ FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
B. Tech.
/ M.Tech.: Meritorious students of NIFTEM are provided with Tuition fee
waiver and fixed monthly stipend in the form of NIFTEM Merit Scholarship and
NIFTEM Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship.
M.
Tech.: AICTE scholarship for GATE qualified candidate.
Ph.
D.: The NET qualified candidates shall be provided with NIFTEM Ph.
D. Fellowship (? 16000, 18000 and 20000 per month in the first, second and
third year, respectively). Those without NET shall be provided with NIFTEM
Ph.D. scholarship (^ 12000 per month).

Applicants
are required to apply online and send duly signed printed copy of the
application form. Applicant can also send printed application along with fee in
DD to, "Head, Admission Cell."
