Criteria of Eligibility for Admission:

Nationality: Candidates must be Citizens of India/children or dependents of Non-Resident Indians.

(1) M.Sc. Nursing:

Academic:

Candidates should have passed the regular Degree Course in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing) with 55% aggregate marks from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities other than from the Government Universities in the State of Kerala should produce Eligibility / Equivalence Certificate for the qualifying examination from Kerala University of Health Sciences.

Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the Institution a Certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer certifying that the candidate is fit to undergo the course.

Rounding off of the percentage of marks to the nearest whole number is not permitted.

Any further norms of eligibility that may be prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council / Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council / KUHS shall also apply.

Professional Registration:

Candidates should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council.

Employment Experience:

1. As on the date of joining for the course, the candidates should have minimum one year of experience after basic B. Sc. Nursing

OR minimum one year of experience prior or after regular Post Basic B. Sc. Nursing, in any hospital having minimum bed strength of 100 or in a School/College of Nursing with Community Health Program.

2. One year compulsory nursing service/internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc. Nursing can be considered as experience.

3. Experience acquired after registration with the nursing council only will be counted.

Medical Fitness: 

Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the Institution a Certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer certifying that the candidate is fit to undergo the course.

(2) Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing:

Academic:

The candidate should have passed 3 or 3½ years General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course with 50% marks in aggregate from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Candidates should have passed their Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), Or Senior School Certificate Examination(10+2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2), Or An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) subjects. 

Professional Registration: 

Candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RN RM) with the Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council.

(3) B.Sc. Nursing:

Academic:

As per Indian Nursing Council norms, the candidates should have passed +2 class with 12 years of school-ship with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English. As per norms of Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) for admission for B.Sc. Nursing, the minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of: Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), Or Senior School

Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2), Or An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Age: Applicants should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2014. 

How to Apply:

The Application can only be submitted online on the website www.amsfnck.com

Before applying online, candidates should have:

a. A valid Email ID (If you do not have an email address, we recommend Gmail)

b. Scanned copy of recent (taken after 1 st January 2014) passport size color photograph. Photograph should be taken in a white/light colored background. The image should be in JPEG format. Maximum size for photograph 50 KB and image dimension

is 120x150 px (4.23x5.29 cm).

c. Details of the Demand Draft, that is to be filled in as part of the online Application form. 

Application Fee:

Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) for M.Sc. Nursing

Rs.   500/- (Rupees five hundred only) for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing & B.Sc. Nursing

The Demand draft, in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam, has to be kept ready before filling the online form. The online application will prompt you to fill in (1) DD No, (2) Bank Name. (3) Branch. (4) Amount and (5) Date.

The candidate can complete application process in three steps:

a. Register into AMSFNCK admission portal on the website using a valid email - id .

b. Access the portal using the password provided to you in your e-mail, complete the online application form and SUBMIT the application online.

c. Take a print out of the completed application form after FINAL SUBMISSION and submit along with the required documents and application fee to: Association of Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMSFNCK). Lisie Hospital Campus, Ernakulam, Kochi-682018 through Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier. 

The application fee is Rs.1.000/- (Rupees one thousand only) and shall be submitted along with the hardcopy of online application form as D.D. in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam.

The last date for receipt of duly signed print out of online application at the AMSFNCK OFFICE is 12-06-2014.

Relaxation of marks :-
Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (as per G.O (P) No. 208/66/Edn dated 02/05/1966, G.O (MS) No. 95/08/SCSTDD dated 06/10/2008 and amendments thereof, with total annual family income not exceeding Rs.4.5 lakhs, will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. They need only 45% marks in the case of Biology and 45 % marks in the case of Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. The relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination extended to SEBC candidates only will be applicable to OEC candidates.

Age

How to apply:
Merit seats are filled up by LBS list .There will be separate application forms for (i) Management seats (35%), (ii) NRI quota seats (5%) and (iii) Foreign students quota(10%). The candidates applying for Management quota /NRI quota/ Foreign students quota should apply to SI-MET, in the prescribed application form issued by the SI-MET. Separate application fee should be remitted for the application forms, for Management quota seats and for NRI seats.
