MBA ADMISSION 2010-2012

Amrita School of Business entered its second phase in 2009, with the launch of the MBA programme in three new campuses at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi. Our Bengaluru campus also launched the Executive MBA programme. Both the MBA as well as the Executive MBA programme at Bengaluru are being offered in collaboration with the State University of New York. University at Buffalo (SUNY - UB). In addition, ASB sent the first batch of its students to visit Sweden, Germany and Bulgaria as EURECA exchange scholars.

All these expansions and international links are happening in a broader global economic context. The business community is increasingly feeling the need for managers with stronger ethical and moral values.

Concerns with the global climate change are also receiving increasing attention from leaders in business and government. India as a nation and Indian managers are expected to play a much stronger role in the global business arena.

Amrita School of Business has been emphasizing the role of managers towards the larger society as well as the environment, right from its inception. Our focus on value based management education derives strength and justification from the recent developments. We are confident to be able to respond to these global needs, develop young managers ready to meet the emerging challenges, and contribute towards creating a more equitable and more harmonious world. Our vision and mission, our leadership, coupled with our excellent faculty as well as state – of – the – art infrastructure are well geared towards fulfillment of this objective.

Eligibility for MBA Admission:
The minimum qualification to apply for admission to the MBA Program is a Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 years of education) in any discipline which is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or any degree equivalent to the Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the Secondary / Higher Secondary / Pre-degree Examinations (or equivalent) conducted by a Board / University.

Those appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examinations may also apply subject to completing their examinations or viva-voce, if any, before June 30, 2010. Such candidates will however have to fulfil the above eligibility requirements in respect of minimum academic qualifications for admission and furnish evidence to that effect latest by October 31, 2010. At the time of interview and/or admissions, they will be required to produce a letter from their College Principal / Head of Institution stating the exam dates.

Candidates with appropriate industry experience will be given preference for admissions. Their work experience will be given due weightage in terms of the organization, position held and duration.
Admission Test

All candidates seeking admission to Amrita's MBA Programs should appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Nov 2009.

NRIs and Foreign Nationals are required to take the GMAT test.

The last date for receiving completed application forms is February 5, 2010.

How to Apply
Option 1: Direct
ASB prospectus & application form can be obtained from any of the following admissions offices (see Contact Information below) by sending a crossed DD of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favor of 'Amrita School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham' payable at Coimbatore.
Option 2: Download from their Website
ASB prospectus & application form can be downloaded from the website and printed. Please fill in all the details affix your photograph, enclose the above-mentioned DD and mail it to the above-mentioned address. The admissions brochure will be couriered to you on receipt of your completed application form.
Option 3: Axis Bank Branches
Brochure and application form can be purchased from the select branches of Axis Bank by paying the required fees.
Option 4: Through Select Training Centers
ASB prospectus & application form can be procured from select centers of IMS and T.I.M.E.
Selection

ASB StudentThe closing date for submitting completed application forms is 31st January 2010. By early February 2010, candidates who are short-listed based on their CAT scores will be called for a Personal Interview.Interviews will be held at Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The interview dates would be between the 20th of February 2010 and 27th of February 2010. The names of the short listed candidates for interviews will be posted on www.amrita.edu/asb. Short listed candidates will also be intimated of their dates and venue based on the choice of interview location that they give in the application form. After the Personal Interview, the candidates will be intimated of their final selection. Selected students will be expected to pay the first installment of fees within fifteen days from the date of intimation of their final selection.

Through GMAT, a maximum of 15% seats are available for NRI and/or foreign candidates. A minimum GMAT score of 550 is necessary for consideration for interview.
Batch Size

The number of seats available for the fully residential two year MBA programme starting on June 2010 is 300. (120 seats in Coimbatore and 60 seats each in Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Kochi).
