School of Archival Studies invites applications for admission to One Year Diploma Course in Archives and Records Management 2010 – 2011 Session.

Duration : 1st November, 2010 to 31st October, 2011.

Objective : To train the candidates in various disciplines of Archival Studies viz. Records Management, Conservation, Reprography and Information Sciences and to produce highly competent professionals in the field of Archives.

Eligibility :

•M.A (History) second class with minimum 50% marks in aggregate with one optional paper in Modern Indian History (Post 1750 period) from a recognized university. (or)
•M.A in other streams of Social Sciences i.e. Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Linguistics, etc. with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university. (or)
•M.Sc. in Applied / Physical Sciences with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university.
•Out of total 30 seats, 10 seats are reserved for Master Degree in History and 10 seats for other streams, i.e. M.A. in Social Sciences, M.Sc. in Applied / Physical Sciences etc. and 10 seats are reserved for sponsored candidates.

Reservation : Reservation of seats as per Government of India norms for SC / ST / OBC / person with disability.

Age : Below 30 years for private candidates and below 50 years for sponsored candidates.

Selection : For 20 seats meant for Private Candidates, admission would be made through a written test followed by an interview. Admission is made purely on merit basis.

For sponsored candidate there is no entrance test and they are admitted purely on the basis of sponsorship of the employer / department and recommendation of the Selection Committee.

Scholarship : Ten scholarships of the value of Rs. 1500/- p.m. are awarded purely on the basis of merit. Six Stipends of Rs. 1000/- p.m. are awarded to sponsored candidates.

Registration Fee : Application along with attested copies of educational qualification and Rs. 100/- (Rs. One hundred only) and US $ 40 (for foreign candidates) through crossed Indian Postal Orders / Bank Draft in favour of "Administrative Officer, National Archives of India, Janpath, New Delhi", as Registration fee for both private and sponsored candidates be sent to :

The B.Ed. Distance Education Programme aims at enabling the in-service teachers to acquire appropriate knowledge, understanding and skills relating to modern methods of teaching/learning processes and develop a role-perception to play the role of a teacher effectively and efficiently as an agent of social change in the 21st century.
Eligibility : In-service teachers with a Bachelor's degree in Tamil/ English/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/Zoology/Botany/History /Geography/ Computer Science or a Post- Graduate degree in Economics/Commerce/Home Science.

At least 2 years of teaching experience serving in Schools in Tamil Nadu (Nursery/ Primary/ Secondary/ Higher Secondary/ Matriculation Schools) recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu / Government of India alone are eligible to apply. AND, admission will be done based on the score obtained by the candidate in the Entrance Examination conducted by the TNOU all over Tamil Nadu.
Programme Fee : The total programme fee of Rs.10,000/- for first year should be paid only by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'Tamil Nadu Open University' payable at Chennai at the time of counselling for admission. The total programme fee of Rs.10,000/- for the second year should be remitted by Demand Draft in favour of 'Tamil Nadu Open University' payable at Chennai after receiving the intimation from the University.

Evaluation Procedure : The scheme of evaluation of the performance of student-teachers will consist of two main components:
§ Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA)
§ Term-End Examinations (TEE)

Scheme of Entrance Examination : The following is the scheme of entrance examination:
i) The Entrance Examination will be for a duration of 2 hours and for a maximum of 100 marks with 100 questions.
ii) Questions will be of multiple-choice type. Optical Mark Reader (OMR) coding answer sheets will be supplied to the candidates.
iii) The Question paper will be divided into two parts A & B. Part A will test General English Comprehension, Logical and Analytical Reasoning , Educational and General Awareness and Teaching-Learning Practices in the School.

Date and Venue of Entrance Examinations : The Entrance Examination will be held in important cities and at 5 B.Ed Programme Study Centres in Tamil Nadu from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, 09.01.2005. The names and address of the Entrance Examination Centres are given in the Annexure II. The Admit Cards/Hall-tickets will be sent to the eligible candidates by the University directly. The decision of the University on eligibility to appear for Entrance Examination will be final.

Executive MBA (IPMX), the fourth, full time, one-year residential executive programme would be launched in April 2011 at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow-NOIDA Campus. The objective of The Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Operations (PGDBO) program is to build a pool of banking professionals in India, who can sustain the growing momentum of the sector and help it achieve new levels of profitability and customer responsiveness.

To that end, expert faculty have designed a comprehensive portfolio of training program and developed relevant course content that hones the soft and hard skills needed by new-age banks. Additionally, they "re-skill" existing professionals through a continual learning process, thus creating first-day-first hour industry-ready.

The PGDBO is a six month program with three months of full time class work followed by three months of internship session. The program is unique in both its content as well as its methodology. It is distilled from the real-life experience of banking professionals from our partner organization who have been part of content development team.

Placement Facility : Select set of candidates who are shortlisted for admission, are granted admission with placement assurance (subject to fulfillment of specific academic and non-academic criteria). Before commencing internship, the allotted partner organization will offer provisional appointment letter to the candidate. Program Schedule : During classwork session, the PGDBO program consists of 4-5 hours of classroom contact and three hours of supervised self-study per day. Supervised self-study takes place after the classwork. In addition to the formal classroom sessions, students may be required to participate in collaborative projects and assignments, e-learning and other reference work. To expedite the program, students may have to study on some local holidays.

Evaluation & Certification : Both the classroom learning and the internship sessions of the program are evaluated. During classroom training, performance is evaluated via tests, quizzes, assignments and project-work, while during internship; the candidates are evaluated based on the performance at work and on their professional personality. To qualify for the award of the program title, candidates should score >50% aggregate and fulfill all academic and performance guidelines.
