Online registration for next year's ISAT will begin on November 1st. ISAT is conducted for admissions to the undergraduate programmes (B.Tech.) at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandrum. This highly demanded course has no tuition fee and the the pass outs have the chance to get absorbed by ISRO.

B.Tech. Programmes

1. B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: It is similar to programmes of the same title available in many reputed Institutions in India and abroad. The programme in IIST is oriented towards the needs of space technology, and has significant overlap with Mechanical Engineering including Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Science and Space Dynamics. People with B.Tech. degree in Aerospace Engineering can further specialize in Flight Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Thermal and Propulsion, Structure and Design, and Manufacturing Science.

2. B.Tech. in Avionics: The programme covers what is typically covered in Electronics and Communications programmes and in addition, provides exposure to Advanced Electronics in digital and communication, control systems and computer systems used in aerospace systems. People with B.Tech. degree in Avionics can later specialize in areas like DSP, RF & Communication, Antenna, Power Electronics, Micro Electronics, Control System etc.

3. B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: This programme is oriented towards application of basic sciences in Space Science, Space Technology and Space Application. The programme lays a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and gives exposure to important applications of space technology such as Remote Sensing and GIS, Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Earth System Sciences. People with B.Tech. degree in Physical Science can later specialize in areas like Atmospheric and Ocean sciences, Solid Earth Science, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Remote Sensing & GIS, and Chemical Systems. The curriculum will have the best blend of basic science and engineering.

Intake

The total number of seats for the undergraduate programmes in IIST for the year 2011 is 156. The branch-wise distribution of seats is as follows:

B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: 59 seats , B.Tech. in Avionics: 58 seats , B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: 39 seats

Schedule of ISAT-2011

The examination will be held on Saturday, 16th April, 2011 between 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM (IST)
(The schedule will remain unaltered even if the above date is declared a public holiday).

Type of Examination

The question paper will be of objective type and will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The detailed syllabi based on which ISAT-2011 will be conducted, for the three subjects, namely, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics will be included in the ISAT – 2011 Brochure which will be available in ISAT-2011 webpage from 1st November, 2010.

How to Apply

Candidates can apply on-line only. The online application form will be available from 10:00 AM on 1st November 2010 to 11:30 PM on 31st December 2010 at the IIST website. Candidates will be guided at this stage about how to complete the application process, remit examination fee etc.

ISAT-2011 Centres

ISAT-2010 is planned to be conducted in the following twenty two cities of India:

Thiruvananthapuram, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Hyderabad,Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Nagpur,Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Delhi, Ahmedabad,Dehradun, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna,Kolkata, Dispur, Vishakapatnam, Ranchi.

Examination Fee

Student desirous of taking entrance test ISAT-2011 shall have to pay examination fee as under:

GEN/OBC male candidates: Rs.600, SC/ST/PD and all female candidates: Rs.300 .

ELIGIBILITY FOR ISAT-2011

Candidates must make sure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing in ISAT-2011:

1. Only Indian citizens are eligible to write ISAT-2011.

2. The date of birth of candidates belonging to GEN, OBC categories should be on or after October 1, 1986, while the date of birth of those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should be on or after October 1, 1981.

(The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/ Pre-University certificate/or its equivalent will be accepted).

3. A candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination (QE) for the first time, in the calendar year 2010 or 2011. Those who are going to appear in the QE after July 1, 2011 or expecting the results of QE later than July 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for ISAT-2011.

4. Minimum Percentage of Marks in Class X or equivalent examination: Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination, while, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination.

5. Minimum Percentage of Marks in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination: Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in the aggregate in their Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers in their QE, while, those belonging to SC,ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in the aggregate in their PCM papers in their QE.

6. RESERVATION OF SEATS

As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are: * Scheduled Castes (SC),
* Scheduled Tribes (ST), * Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy layer (NCL),
* Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.

Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) with specialization in the areas of Communication, Finance and Accounting, Financial Economics, Information Systems, Marketing Management, Operations Management & Quantitative Techniques, Organisational Behaviour & HRM, Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship

Eligibility
Candidates should have:

a Master's degree* in any discipline, with at lease 55 per cent marks (High second class) and at least 50% marks at Bachelor's degree level
OR
a Bachelor's degree** with complete professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 55 percent marks and with minimum of two years post-qualification work experience
OR
a B.E./B.Tech. Degree with at least 60 per cent marks with a minimum of two years' post-qualification work experience.

Those appearing for the final year Master's degree* examination or its equivalent may also apply, subject to completion of all the requirements before the registration date, i.e. end- June of the current year.
*Candidates who are in the final year of their Master's Programme are eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected will be permitted to join the programme provisionally subject to the submission of a certificate, issued on or before June 30 of the current year, from the head of the institution implicitly emphasizing that they have completed all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30 of the current year.
**The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.


Procedure
Applications for admission to the FPM are invited at the same time when the advertisement of Common Admission Test [CAT] is released. Applicants can choose upto three areas of specialization while applying. Application should be submitted on a prescribed application form available from FPM office by a specified date along with a demand draft of Rs 300/ -

Following categories of candidates are considered for admission:
Candidates having a CAT/GMAT score (valid for all areas)
Candidates having GRE/GATE score (valid for selected areas)
Candidates having qualified UGC/CSIR JRF Research test
Candidates not having any score may appear for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) to be conducted by the institute on a pre announced date.
Lecturers working in AICTE/UGC recognized university and colleges on a full time basis for a minimum period of three years in management related areas.

Short-listed candidates are called for interview and further evaluation in Indore. 
 

Waiver

     i. Alumni of IIMs (PGP, PGP-ABM, PGP-PMP, PGPX) are eligible to apply for exemption of first year PGP courses, provided the candidate has obtained in the first year of the above degree/diploma a minimum grade point equivalent to 2.55, with no Fs and not more than two Ds.
     ii. Similar program of other universities/Business Schools are eligible to apply for exemption of first year PGP courses, provided they satisfy the following conditions:

     a) The candidate should have completed a full-time, two year MBA degree, two year PG Diploma in Management or one year PGPX, one year PGP-PMP (or equivalent) in Management from any recognised University / Business School / Institution.
     b) The candidate should have obtained in the first year of the above degree/diploma a minimum average grade point equivalent to IIMI's 2.55, with no Fs and not more than two Ds.
     c) The candidates should have obtained the qualifying degree or diploma, not more than five years ago, with respect to the beginning of the first term of the FPM programme into which she/he is seeking admission.

The granting of the waiver is not automatic. The final decision related to the waiver is made by the FPM EC by taking into account all relevant factors, including:
     • The quality and content of the program (MBA/PGDM/PGP-ABM etc.) undergone by the candidate. The FPM Executive committee will come up with a list of such institutions in order to have transparency.
     • The performance of the candidate in the program.
     • The FPM EC, on applying its criteria, can grant full, partial, or no waiver to the candidate.
 
Validity of Score: Two years from the date of the standard test and should be valid on the deadline of submission of the application form

Selection to the programme is based on performance in:
1. CAT/GMAT or other standard tests as specified
2. Personal Interview
3. Academic Work
4. Relevant Work Experience [teaching, research, management etc.]
5. Any other, as decided by FPMC.

Admission under 50% seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/ Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

 
Eligibility:
(1)    Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply
(2)    The candidate must posses MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized Medical/Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and full registration either from the Medical/ Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship.
(3)    Candidates who have obtained MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus.
(4)    The candidates should complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized Hospital on or before 31st March, 2011.
 
How To Apply:
The prospectus is available on the website www.aiimsexams.org and must be read by the applicants before applying. The cost of Application-cum-Examination fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ ST candidates)

On-line Application: A candidate can submit application On-Line through Internet. Visit www.aiimsexams.org read the prospectus and other details carefully and follow the instructions given therein. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (down loaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of State Bank of India. Transaction Processing Fee (as applicable) will be payable to the Bank.

Off-line Application: Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained BY POST by sending a crossed Bank Draft for Rs.1 050/- for General / OBC and Rs.850/- for SC / ST category, drawn in favour of the "ACCOUNTS OFFICER (EXAMS) AIPGMEE-2011". The Bank Draft should be payable at New Delhi and should be valid for six months (up to March/April, 2011).

The request should reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110 608 on or before 9th Nov 2011. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN code.
