Fellowship:

Applications are invited for admission to the 3-year LLB course of studies to be imparted at The University of Burdwan, The Law Section of Hooghly Mohsin College and self-financing private Law Colleges affiliated to the University of Burdwan for the academic session 2012-2014.

Eligibility:
A candidate is eligible to apply for admission into the course if he/she secures not below 45% of the total marks in case of General category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST category at the Bachelor’s Degree examination in 10+ 2 + 3 pattern.

Age:
The maximum age of the candidate seeking admission into the course is limited to 30 years in case of General Category and 35 years in case of SC, ST and Other Backward Communities as on 1st January 2012.

Selection:
The selection for admission to the course shall be strictly in order of merit on the basis of performance of the eligible candidates at the written admission test to be conducted at Burdwan University, Hooghly Mohsin College and Kolkata Centre on 18.12.2011.

Applications in prescribed form, obtainable till 07.12.2011 between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on all working days, at University Sales Counter, Rajbati, Burdwan (and not by post) on payment of Rs. 100/- in cash and on production of original / attested Xerox copy of mark-sheet of the relevant last degree examination and age proof certificate.

Applications have been invited by Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal for admission to the PhD Programme 2011.

Eligibility:
A person who has obtained master’s Degree or a degree deemed equivalent from any university or institution recognized by this university or such other degree as may be considered sufficient for this purpose shall also be eligible for admission, if obtained fifty per cent marks at least. Provided that:

(i) a candidate who has completed at least a total 5 years of UG and PG study in a recognized institution or university;

(ii) the candidate is not currently admitted as a student in any course of studies or registered for doing PhD in any university;

(iii) a candidate who have MPhil / MTech / or a degree deemed to be equivalent by the Board of Research Studies (on the recommendation of the Ph.D. Committee concerned) shall be exempted from appearing at the written Admission Test for this purpose and will have to appear only at an interview to be conducted by the PhD Committee;

(iv) Candidates qualified at the NET / GATE / SET / UGC (JRF) / CSIR (JRF) or any other examinations that considered equivalent by the BRS shall also be exempted from appearing at the Written Admission Test and will have to appear at an interview.

(v) In all other cases, the candidates will have to appear at the Written Admission Test and if qualified, have to appear at an interview to be conducted by the respective PhD Committee. Provided that the candidates obtaining fifty percent marks at the Written Test shall be eligible to appear at the Interview.

Registration:
The selected candidate shall apply to the Registrar in the prescribed proforma tendering an amount of non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 2000.00 only within one year.

(i) Every such application must include
(a) a proposal for Ph.D. work (Plan of work) consisting of around 1000 words;
(b) Supervisor's consent
(c) bio-data of the candidate along with supporting documents and
(d) bio-data and research experience of the supervisor, if from outside of the university. Provided that a candidate eligible to work independently need not enclose supervisor's consent letter.

(ii) Any whole-time teacher of Vidyasagar University or any scholar having three years’ teaching experience in PG Courses and adequate research publications may apply for PhD registration for working independently

Admission Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary, schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for the final bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal / Head of Department / Registrar / Director of the University / Institution certifying that the candidate has obtained 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2012 (from the Principal / Registrar of their college/institute issued on or before June 30, 2012) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.

Admission Procedure:
STEP -1 Admission Test
All candidates seeking admission to LBSIM will be required to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs between October 22 to November 18, 2011. STEP -2 Registration at LBSIM

Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion (GD), Extempore and Personal Interview (PI) for final selection at one of the following places as selected by the candidate at the time of applying for registration with LBSIM.
