Criteria of Eligibility for Admission

Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India.
Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2012.

Eligibility for Admission

Admissions are regulated as per the regulations of M.G. University and the Government of Kerala.
The candidates shall be Indian Nationals.
The candidate shall have completed the prescribed qualification from an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities.
The candidate shall possess a Bachelors degree in the appropriate branch of engineering with a minimum of 60% aggregate or equivalent and thereto as approved by the M.G University.
For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the Engineering Degree Course is sufficient.
Those who are appearing for qualifying examination may also apply.
Candidates who have passed AMIE Examination and satisfying the following Conditions are eligible for admission.
(i) They must have a valid GATE Score.
(ii) A minimum marks of 55% for the section B in AMIE examination.
(iii) Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the field of specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.
Non- GATE candidates can also apply.
Candidates from universities other than M.G.University, Kottayam are directed to submit an Eligibility Certificate of M.G.University, Kottayam at the time of admission.

Downloaded applications are to be submitted with a DD of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) drawn in favour of Principal – Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, payable at Kanjirapally. The University was established at Faridkot under an Act of Punjab State Legislature (Punjab Act No. 18 of 1998) in the name of great Sufi Saint Sheikh Farid Ganj-E-Shakar, (1173 1265 A.D.) in 1998 for purposes of affiliating, teaching and ensuring proper and systematic instruction, training and research in Modern Systems of Medicine and Indian Systems of Medicine. It is not only affiliating and examining body but also a teaching and research centre in health sciences. It is expected to play a vital role in improving the standards of medical and health education in the state and in conducting relevant research in all aspects of health sciences, basic as well as applied, which ultimately will satisfy the  health standards of the people of Punjab. It is believed that the university will be  a trend setter in developing appropriate modes and models of health care to ensure quality health care to the people.  
The University has been recognized by MCI vide letter no. V/11015/3/2000-ME (UG) dated 9th June, 2000. The UGC has also included the University in the list of recognized universities maintained by the University Grants Commission, under section 2(f) of the UGC Act. 1956 vide letter no. F.9-3/97 (CPP-I) dated 4 July. 2002 and 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Letter No. 9-3/97(CPP/I) dated 11.4.2011. The Regional Director. World Health Organization, Regional Office for South-East Asia, World Health House, New Delhi has also forwarded the name of the University for inclusion in the World Directory of Medical Schools vide letter No. M12/6212 dated 6 May 2002. The University is also included in the list of Commonwealth Universities and their yearbook 2001 at page No. 692 (Vol. l).

The admission to B.Pharmacy course shall be made on the basis of merit of qualifying examination 
The candidates passing qualifying examination from National Open School shall not be eligible

Eligibility (M. Pharmacy): Passed B.Pharmacy examination with at least 55% marks
The admission will be made exclusively on merit of GPAT qualified examination
The leftover seats shall be filled on the basis of merit of B.Pharmacy examination

Reservation: The reservation will be made as per Reservation Policy of Govt of Punjab

Admission Procedure: Before applying, candidate should carefully read prospectus for eligibility conditions and other important instructions

Before applying, candidate should have to deposit requisite fee in the University account through any branch of the Oriental Bank of Commerce by using specified Bank Challan form, which is available at university website www.bfuhs.ac.in and at the end of this prospectus
After depositing requisite fee in the bank account of the University, a unique Transaction ID will be issued by the concerned bank, which is required to be entered in the application form
Fee shall not be accepted in any other mode; cash, cheque, demand draft etc
Merely deposition of fee will not entitle the candidate for admission
The required application form should required to be submitted in the University by the stipulated date and time, failing which no claim of the candidate will be considered

Entrance Test: 

There will be entrance test for all the candidates seeking admission in Biotechnology, Computer Science/Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Technology, Environmental Science, Instrumentation, Library and Information Science, Linguistics and ELT, Mass Communication, Psychology and Sociology respectively

The students of other universities inclusive of both the general and reserve categories will have to appear in an entrance test of 100 marks for 2 (two) hours duration for all the courses in respective subject

The syllabus for the entrance test will be the same as the major course in the subject in Gauhati University

An amount of Rs 200/- (Rs two hundred) only as fee for the entrance test for each subject in the form of demand draft in favour of the Registrar, Gauhati University payable at SBI, GU Branch will have to be deposited in the respective department at the time of submission of application form

Centre for Social Medicine (CSM) was a culmination of efforts of PMT & PIMS since 1972 to address the multi-disciplinary & multi-dimensional nature of health and developmental needs of the underprivileged rural, tribal and urban slums population, in a holistic way through education, research and service delivery.The CSM, as a constituent unit of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences University (PIMS) since 2001, aims to facilitate &  enrich the faculty-student-community interactions  and  collaborates with various  academic & research  programs  : medicine,  dentistry,  nursing,  physiotherapy,  biotechnology,  bioscience management, ayurveda within and outside PIMS University.  The Center also encourages international, national, regional, 
and community partnerships to foster a culture of interdisciplinary team work and a community of scholars at the cross roads of health and social sciences. 

The CSM was recognized by Govt. of India (UGC) as a constituent unit of PIMS for offering academic courses in Public/Rural Health, Social Medicine etc in 2005.

Operational/Field Practice Area
The Centre has been directly engaged in serving about half-a-million people living in 250 remote, droughtprone, hilly & tribal villages  and 10 urban slums in Ahmednagar, Nashik, Pune districts of Maharashtra through various community health and developmental projects and programs. 

Target population for community health developmental services 

The Centre focuses their activities on vulnerable sections of the society like women (widowed, disserted, female sex workers), children (orphans, differently abled, school drop-outs, child labour, malnourished etc), rural & tribal, farmers (migratory labour), unorganized labour etc.  

As part of Community Health Activities, the CSM runs 9 Rural Health Centres, 5 Mobile Medical/Dental 
Clinics, 30 e-health /First Aid Centres & regular health check-up camps. The CSM has been involved in a number of field action and research projects in the field of RCH, HIV/AIDS, School Health, and Woman's empowerment  in collaboration  with government organizations, non-governmental and  academicorganizations in India and abroad.

Application Procedure :
How to obtain the Applications Form
Those who are intersted to take admission into the aforementioned courses should obtain the Prospectus and 
Application form which can be obtained through the following ways :
1) By Sending a request letter to the Director, Centre for Social Medicine along with D.D. for Rs. 300  in favour 
of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences- Deemed University, 
2) By Downloading from the Website www.pravara.com and submitting the downloaded Application Form 
along with a D.D. for Rs. 300/-
3) From the Counter of Center for Social Medicine on cash payment of Rs. 300/- on working days from 9.00 am 
to 5.00 pm.
4) The Application Form should be attached with the xerox copy of the following certificates.
1. Date of Birth Certificate (SSC Passing)
2. Year wise Statement of Marks of Course Passed
3. Degree / Passing Certificate

Selection Procedure :
Those  satisfying  the  eligibility  requirements  will  be  included  in  the  selection  process.  Selection  for Admissions in the course will be done purely on merit basis (marks obtained) at the qualifying examinations. 
AfterSelection Formalities :
Acceptance Letter : An acceptance letter should be obtained, signed and returned to the Director, Social for 
Social Medicine on or before 20th July 2012, if admission is accepted.
Verification of Original Documents of the following certificates will be carried out at the time of Admission
