Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University which is in its 53rd year of existence is the premier medical institution of this country. Over the last decade, it has been consistently ranked amongst the top 20 Medical Colleges of the country and in 2012 was rated as the 6th best Medical Colleges. The Institute is a unique amalgamation of Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Ayurveda, Faculty of Dental Sciences and the College of Nursing all under one roof. If offers MBBS, MD/MS and DM/MCh courses in the Faculty of Medicine and BDS and MDS courses in the Faculty of Dental Sciences. The 1200 bedded attached Sir Sunderlal Hospital is a tertiary care referral hospital providing clinical services to a huge 20 crore population residing in 5 adjoining States and Nepal. A new State of the art 324 bedded Trauma Centre is also likely to be commissioned in the near future augmenting the patient care facilities. Admission to Undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) courses - 2013
The candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS course – 2013 in the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU must register themselves by applying directly to the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences in the prescribed application form downloaded from the BHU & IMS website (www.bhu.ac.in / www.imsbhu.nic.in ) along with the prescribed fee. However, the admission will be done strictly on the basis of their merit in the NEET – UG 2013 examination.
The fee for registration for UG Courses will be Rs.1000/- for General and OBC and Rs.600/- for SC & ST candidates.
All candidates eligible for NEET – UG 2013 are eligible for registering themselves irrespective of their State of domicile.
The downloaded application form along with the draft in favour of “Director, IMS, BHU
payable at Varanasi must reach the office of the IMS Directorate latest by 15th April 2013 by registered/speed post only.
The applications received after the last date on any account including postal delays will not be registered.
The candidates who have registered for admission to MBBS/BDS course 2013 must submit their score card of NEET - UG 2013 within 15 days after declaration of their results to the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Tentative counseling for admission of UG courses (MBBS/BDS) will be held on 4th July 2013.
Individual letters to the successful candidates based on their rank in the 4EET - UG exam.2013 will be sent by Registered Post/Speed Post giving the exact date of counseling. The candidates are advised to check the BHU/IMS websites from time to time for up-dates.
For 15% seats of total 84 MBBS seats i.e. 13 seats, candidates would be admitted through All India quota (for central counseling) and the remaining 85% i.e. 71 seats will be filled up through IMS, BHU counseling. The distribution of the 71 seats amongst the different categories is as follows:
General - 36, OBC- 19, SC - 11 & ST - 05 Total - 71 seats.
2 seats- 3% reservation of PC candidates will be given horizontally as per Government of India norms.
Of total 50 BDS seats to be filled up through IMS, BHU counseling, the distribution of  the seats amongst the different categories is as follows:
General - 25, OBC - 13, SC - 08 & ST - 04 Total - 50 seats.
1 seat - 3% reservation of PC candidates will be given horizontally as per Government of India norms.
Those students who have not registered with the Director, IMS, BHU will not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS courses 2013 through IMS, BHU, counseling. However, mere registration does not guarantee admission to MBBS/BDS courses 2013.

Admission to Postgraduate (MD/MS) courses – 2013
The candidates interested in seeking admission to MD/MS courses in the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU should register themselves by applying in the prescribed application form downloaded from the BHU & IMS website (www.bhu.ac.in / www.imsbhu.nic.in ) along with the prescribed fee by demand draft in favour of Director, IMS payable at Varanasi and a copy of NEET - PG 2013 score card by 15th April 2013.
The applications received after the last date on any account including postal delays will not be registered.
The prescribed fee is Rs.1500/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs.1000/- for SC& ST candidates.
In case the results of NEET - PG 2013 are not declared before submission of the application form, a copy of the score card should be sent to the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi within 15 days of the declaration of the result.
Tentative counseling date for admission of PG courses will be in the last week of May. The exact date will be displayed on our IMS website within 15 days after declaration of the NEET - PG 2013 result.
Total number of MD/MS seats - 134
50% of total seats i.e. 67 are to be filled up through All India and the remaining 50% seats i.e. 67 to be filled through IMS, BHU counseling.
Of these 67 seats, 42 seats will be allotted preferentially to Institutional candidates in accordance with the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. The remaining 25 seats will be distributed amongst all other eligible candidates who have registered.
All seats will be allocated strictly according to the merit in NEET – PG 2013. All candidates eligible for NEET – PG 2013 are eligible for registering themselves irrespective of their State of domicile. The number of seats and the subjects may vary.

Students who have completed their 3rd Year B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc(Engineering) in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering.

The Summer School Program of the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) will be held from 3rd June 2013 to 12th July 2013. If you are interested in pursuing a research career in Physics and Technology after your M. Sc / B.E. / B.Tech, here is an opportunity to spend a six weeks of your summer vacation at IPR. In this program you can learn about Plasma (matter in an ionized state) and its applications in nuclear fusion and industries. The course comprises of lectures on plasma science, fusion and industrial technologies, and a short project related to Plasma Science/Technology. The participants will have to work on a specific project in association with a faculty member of the institute. This will present them a huge opportunity of interacting with the scientists at IPR.
If selected, you will be paid a stipend of Rs.10,500/- for the entire period and a to and fro train fare (3rd AC) by the shortest route. You will also be provided with a free hostel accommodation (limited seats are available) during this period.

Step-1: Visit http://www.kashmiruniversity.net  or www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in  and click on Link Admissions 2013.
Step-2: Enter Prospectus Serial No., Receipt No. & Registration No. and Click Search (if already registered with University of Kashmir your particulars/examinations passed will appear from database automatically). Otherwise enter all details yourself.
Step-3: Select the desired Programmes and Campus/College Preferences and Upload your latest passport size photograph with specimen signature at the bottom of the photograph.
Step-4: Preview the Form displayed on the screen. If details are correct, click on Submit to submit the Form. If there is any variation go to Edit, make corrections and then Submit. Get a printout of the Form and note the ID for future reference.
Step-5: Deposit the Entrance Test Fee of Rs. 245/- per course (plus Rs. 10/- Bank charges) against the Pay-in-Slip generated with the Application Form in any of the branches of the J&K Bank Ltd. across the Country. Then Submit the Hard Copy of the Form.

V) Submission of Application Forms (Hard copy):
 The candidates after submitting their On-Line Application Forms must submit the downloaded Form (hard copy) at any of the following places and obtain a receipt for record:
 PG Departments on the University Campus;
 South Campus of the University at Anantnag;
 North Campus of the University at Baramulla;
 IT Centres of the University at the Degree Colleges mentioned at Para III.
 However, the candidates applying under any Reserved Category shall submit hard copy of the Application Form at any of the following places only;

VI) Additional information:
 Candidates are advised to check status of their Application Forms after three days of deposition of hard copy of Form. In case acceptance of Application has not been confirmed/or any discrepancy is reflected, the candidates must approach the concerned Branch of J&K Bank where he/she has deposited the Entrance test Fee or Department/IT Centre where hard copy of the Form has been deposited, alongwith Form Receipt, Fee Receipt & other documents.
 A candidate whose result has been declared but marks certificate has not been issued, can apply On-line and attach copy of web result attested by the concerned Asstt. Controller of Examinations, University of Kashmir, with the hard copy of the Form.

Medical/Engg/Pharmacy UG Admissions 2013-2014

Applications can be submitted for the Manipal University Online Entrance Test for admission to the MBBS, BDS, BTech, BPharm, PharmD courses at Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka, for 2013-14 till 11th March, 2013. The Computer based online test will be held between 15.04.2013 and 15.05.2013 as per the time slot and centre chosen by the applicants through the Online Test Booking System.

The eligibility for the different Courses offered is as follows.
MBBS/BDS: Applicant should have been born on or after 31.12.1996. Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. Only those candidates who get at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test, 2013, for MBBS/BDS will be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.

B.Tech: Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology or any technical vocational subject as optional subject with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subject.

B.Arch: A pass in 10+2 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects or three year Diploma after 10 years schooling (any stream) recognized by the Central/State Government with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects. Applicant should have secured 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. Applicant should also have secured 40% marks in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

B Pharm: Applicant should have been born on or after 31.12.1996. Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2 Examination with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics/ Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology as optional subjects. Those who have passed 10+2 from National Open School are not eligible for admission to B.Pharm Course.

Pharm. D: Applicant should have been born on or after 31.12.1996. Applicant should have a Pass in 10+2 Examination with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects/DPharm or any other equivalent qualification approved by Pharmacy Council of India. Those who have passed 10+2 from National Open School are not eligible for admission to Pharm. D Course.

Selection Procedure: For Admission to the MBBS/BDS/BTech/ BPharm/PharmD courses, admission will be based on the rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2013 as applicable for the courses concerned.

Only those candidates who get 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test, 2013, for MBBS/BDS will be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. Few MBBS seats are reserved for candidates selected by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Government of Karnataka.

For B.Arch, admissions will be based on the marks in the qualifying Examination and NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture considered with equal weightage. Those desirous of B Arch admission have to apply for NATA separately. For details of NATA, visit www.nata.in

Application and Prospectus can be downloaded from www.manipal.edu/Admissions/IndianAdmissions/Pages/HowtoApply.aspx.  Applicant should print the application form, complete it in all respects and send it to Admissions Office along with the Demand Draft for the amount  which should be inclusive of Application fee of Rs. 600/- and Entrance test fee (if applicable)  of Rs. 1000/-, drawn in favour of ‘Manipal University’ payable at Manipal or Udupi. Application forms can also be purchased from selected branches of State Bank of India as per the list given at http://www.manipal.edu/Admissions/IndianAdmissions/Banks/Pages/Welcome.aspx  by paying the required application fee.

Application material can also be obtained by Post from Director, Admissions, Manipal University, Manipal, Karnataka-576104, by sending a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- drawn in the name of Manipal University, payable at Manipal or Udupi. Applicants can apply for MBBS, BDS, B Pharm and Pharm D in the same application. Similarly, applicants can apply for B.Tech, B Pharm and Pharm D in the same application.

The last date for receipt of the completed application at Manipal University with necessary documents along with the DD/Cahllan for the applicable amount drawn on ‘Manipal University’ payable at Manipal or Udupi is 11.03.2013.

Slot Booking: Applicants will get the facility to select the Test Centre and Test Schedule of their choice through the Online Test Booking System between 21.03.2013 and 28.03.2013. Online Test booking system is a web based online scheduling system available at www.admissions.manipal.edu.

Applicants will have the facility to book the test schedule at the centre, date and time of their choice. The booking of schedule is done on first-come-first-served basis and is subject to availability. Applicants are required to book their slots in www.manipalotbs.com  during 21.03.2013 to 28.03.2013. The online test booking system will allow the candidate to book a slot only in this time frame.

The online test booking password is required for the purpose of booking a schedule using online test booking system & to download e-hall ticket from the website. The Online Test Booking Password will be sent to the candidate’s e-mail ID given in the application form, sufficiently in advance. The Password must be kept confidential.

The e-hall ticket will be generated 24 hours after the candidate has booked his/her schedule through the online test booking system. The e-hall ticket will be issued for only those candidates who book a slot using the online test booking system before the booking end date for respective courses as per the booking schedule. The e-hall ticket will indicate the e-hall ticket number, course/s applied, address of the test centre, test date & time selected by the candidate. Discrepancies, if any, must be brought to the notice of the University at the earliest.

The e-hall ticket will be made available on www.manipalotbs.com   . Candidate should provide the application form number and online test booking password to download the e-hall ticket. The copy of the e-hall ticket will also be emailed to the candidate. The e-hall ticket will not be dispatched to candidates via post or fax.

Candidates should take two print outs of the e-hall ticket using the print option on A4 size paper only. No candidate will be permitted to appear for the test without a valid e-hall ticket. It must be preserved and produced at the time of counselling/admission.

On the day of examination, applicant should report to the selected test centre with the two copies of the e-hall ticket, one photocopy of the application form and any one of Passport/Driving License/EC Voter ID card/IT PAN card or School/College photo-bearing ID card for photo identification.

Test Scheme for MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm & Pharm.D (Group I) (eligibility PCB): The test will of two and a half hours duration and will consist of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type.  The approximate number of questions from different subjects will be as follows. Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Biology - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.

B.Tech, B.Pharm & Pharm.D (Group II) (eligibility PCM): The test will of two and a half hours duration and will consist of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type. The approximate number of questions from different subjects will be as follows.  Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Mathematics - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.

Those desirous of writing the entrance Test with Biology as a subject should opt for Group I (MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm and Pharm D). Those desirous of writing Entrance Test with Mathematics as a subject should opt for Group II (B.tech, B Pharm and Pharm D)

The test papers in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and General English will have questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities. Detailed syllabus is available at the website.

Online Entrance Test: In the Computer based Online entrance test, the candidate sits in front of the computer and the questions are presented on the monitor. The candidate has to submit his/her answers through the use of mouse. The computer is connected to the server, which delivers the test, in real time through a reliable connectivity. The final score will be displayed on the test screen immediately after the completion of the test.  A demo of the Online Entrance Test is available at the website.

The questions appearing on the screen will be in English. All questions will be of the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ type). Each MCQ will consist of a stem which may be in the form of a question or an incomplete statement and four responses labelled A, B, C and D. One of the four responses only is the correct or most appropriate answer. Candidates must choose the correct or most appropriate answer by clicking on the button next to the answer. Candidates can navigate freely through the questions. All rough work should be done in the paper/s supplied in the Test Centre. No paper/s should be taken to the test hall for this purpose.

Each question carries one mark. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. The wrong answer or unanswered questions will receive no (positive/negative) mark. The final score will be displayed in the test screen immediately after the test. The candidate should acknowledge the score in the print out of the score card in the presence of the invigilator.

For B Arch, the last date for receipt of filled application is 10.5.2013. Attested photocopy of 10+2/Diploma mark card and NATA score card should reach by 10.6.2013. Application number should be written on the top right corner of the photocopy.
