1. Applications are invited from UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES (fulfilling the conditions of nationality as laid down by the Govt of India) to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under the 10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
2. Age. 17 to 19½ years (i.e. borne between 02 Jul 1994 & 01 Jan 1997 (both dates inclusive).
3. Educational Qualification. Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).
4. Physical Standards.
(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight as per age.
(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standards for distant vision is 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/
night blind.
Note:- There will be no relaxation in physical standards.
(c) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training as per order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(d) Change of SSB venue is not permissible.
(e) Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the President of the concerned SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would
be given by the President SSB subject to availability.
(f) No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests.
(g) Return 3rd AC rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the type of commission.

TRAINING
5. The training is scheduled to commence in Dec 2013.
6. Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course, Cadets will be allotted Executive or Engineering including Naval Architect specialisation or Electrical Branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Note:- The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.


HOW TO APPLY
7. Candidates can submit only ‘e-application’ (online) for this entry. Candidates can submit their ‘e-application’ for this entry from 25 May 13 to 20 Jun 13. The procedure for applying online is explained in Para 8 & 9 below. Only one application will be received from one candidate.
8. Before submitting the e-application, it is advisable to keep all educational certificates, email address, mobile number and softcopy of the latest photograph of size less than 10 KB readily available for error free submission of e-application.
9. Procedure for submitting e-application. Candidates can submit e-application by visiting our website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in  and proceed as follows:-
(a) Click on the ‘Officer Entry’ button under the option 'Apply Online' on the Home Page.
(b) Fill the online registration form. Tips to assist in filling up fields have been provided as you highlight each field.
(c) Before clicking the submit button it should be checked whether all the details entered in the form are correct as you will not be able to make any corrections after saving the record.
(d) After submitting the form, an 'Application Number' will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. This Application Number will automatically appear on the print out of the form. If the system does not generate the Application Number, it is an indication of non-acceptance of the Application by the system.
(e) Print online Application Form having the system generated Application Number. Application Form is to be duly signed and mailed (posted) to Post Box No. 04, RK Puram (main) PO, New Delhi - 66 along with the following documents:- Self attested photograph, Attested photo copies of 10th & 12th class certificates and Mark Sheets. Application to be sent by ordinary post only. Speed Post, Courier and Registered Post will not be accepted.

Application and requisite enclosures must be properly tagged/stapled, IHQ MoD(Navy) will not be responsible for loss of enclosures/non receipt.
Note:- (i) Final receipt of the printout of the online Application Form with system generated Application Number and all documents as mentioned in sub para 9 (e) above (if received by 01 Jul 2013) will be the final CONFIRMATION of receipt of your Application at IHQ MoD (Navy). Hence, only filling the application online/ generation of Application Number does not imply that the candidate has fulfilledall the criteria given in the advertisement.
(ii) Your application is subject to subsequent scrutiny and the application can be rejected, if found INELIGIBLE at any point of time.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
10. (a) Candidates will be issued call up letter for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their PCM marks in 10+2/equivalent
Examination. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No
communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore during Aug to Nov 2013.
(b) Stage I test, consisting of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB.
Candidate who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day.
Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical examination (approx duration 03-05 days).

THE NAVY OFFERS YOU
11. On successful completion of training you will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenant. The benefits of being an officer in the Navy are enumerated in succeeding paragraphs.
12. Pay Scale & Promotions. The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions. The Pay Scale is as follows:-

14. Cost to Company (CTC). The CTC for a Sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs. 65,000/- per month. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport allowance. These rates are not statutory and are subject to change.
15. Privileges. In addition to the CTC mentioned above, Navy provides Free medical facilities for self & dependents, LTC, Canteen facilities, Entitled rations, Mess/Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation, Car/Housing Loan at subsidised rates.
16. Group Insurance & Gratuity. Insurance cover of Rs. 40 lakhs (on contribution) and Gratuity will be granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force.
17. Leave Entitlements. Officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). They are also entitled 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as per extant rules) for self and dependents. Leave during training period will be as per the Training Policy in force.
18. Sports & Adventure. The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, wind surfing etc.
19. Physical fitness. In the Naval Academy curriculum, a lot of emphasis is laid on physical fitness. You are therefore, advised to remain fit by undertaking regular physical exercise, sports, running, swimming, etc. so that you can meet the training goals successfully.

Three-year regular B. Sc. (Hons./ Pass) with minimum 55% marks in the relevant discipline. A relaxation of 5 % marks is applicable for SC/ST candidates.

The completed application must accompany the following documents:
i) Attested copy of valid GATE score card with greater than qualifying marks.
 ii) Attested copy of marks sheet / Grade card of the qualifying examination. If the marks-sheet of the final qualifying examination is not available, the marks-sheets of the previous semesters should be submitted.
 iii) Attested copy of proof of date of birth.
 iv) Attested copy of community certificate in the case of SC/ST candidates from a competent authority, not below the rank of a Tahsildar (for full-time regular programmes)
 v) Attested copy of community certificate in case of OBC candidates from a competent authority (not below the rank of a Tahsildar) indicating the status regarding creamy layer (for full-time regular programmes), issued on or after 01/01/2013
 vii) Attested sponsorship certificate & experience certificate in the case of sponsored candidates; the
original to be presented at the time of viva voce, if called.
 vii) Attested no-objection certificate from the employer in the case of part-time candidates; the original to be presented at the time of viva voce, if called.
viii) Demand draft towards the application fee.
An application without the copies of the required documents is liable to be rejected.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR M. TECH. AND M. SC. PROGRAMMES (WITHOUT SCHOLASRSHIP)
(a) M. Tech.
(i) Full Time GATE / Non-GATE qualified, Full-Time Sponsored and Part-time candidates, all without
scholarship: 30% weightage on Percentage of Marks / CGPA obtained in the last qualifying
examination, 30% weightage on written Admission Test, and 40% weightage on viva-voce in
respective departments at NIT Durgapur. A screening may be made after the written test and the list
of candidates to appear for viva voce will be published by the respective departments.
(ii) Sponsored candidates must have a minimum of two years full-time work experience in a registered
Firm/ Company /Industry /Educational or Research Institutions/ any Government Autonomous
Organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. A letter from the Employer
must be furnished along with the application stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get
admission. The Employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn midway till the
completion of the programme and will not claim for a job through Campus interview at NIT Durgapur.
(iii) A No-Objection Certificate from the Employer is essential for admission to M. Tech. programme for
a part-time candidate and their working place must be within 30 km from NIT, Durgapur.
(b) M. Sc.
The selection for M. Sc. programme in Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics with Computer Applications is
based on 50% weightage on written test, 30% weightage on the Honours/ concerned subject marks and
20% weightage on viva-voce.

Admission of a student to the M. Sc. programme shall automatically stand cancelled if he/she fails to
attend minimum 75% of classes during the first three weeks from the date of his/her admission.

HOSTEL
No hostel facility will be available for the students admitted without Institute scholarship.

CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION
Candidates willing to cancel or withdraw his/ her admission from M. Tech./ M. Sc. programme, may apply within one month from the date of admission. Refund of fee due to the cancellation of admission will be made as per the rules of MHRD, Government of India and the Institute subject to submission of application with all relevant documents.

FEES
Tuition Fee is Rs 17,500 per semester for both M. Tech. and M. Sc. programmes. In addition, the Institute fee of Rs 4,100 is payable at the time of admission and Rs 3,100 in each semester, while the same fees for the sponsored and part-time M. Tech. students are Rs 2,600 and and Rs 3,100 respectively. All students, except the part-time students, will pay an amount of Rs 717 towards Contingency Insurance Policy once every year starting from the time of admission.

All announcements related to M. Tech. and M. Sc. admission will be made through the Institute website
www.nitdgp.ac.in. No communication will be made to any individual separately.
The decision of the Institute will be final in matters related to the admission to M. Tech. and M. Sc. programmes.
Mere eligibility will not ensure a call for admission test and/or viva voce.

Eligibility for Admission
The candidates seeking admission to this course must have possessed any one of the following minimum academic qualifications:

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION FORM:
A candidate must submit the following documents along with the application form failing which the application form will be rejected.
(i) Attested photo copies of mark sheets and certificates of all examinations passed.
(ii) Conversion certificate from the concerned University/Institution indicating the conversion of Grade/CGPA to equivalent % of marks (in case Grade/CGPA is awarded in an examination).
(iii) Photo copy of admit card in case the result of the qualifying examination has not been published.
(iv) Attested photocopy of SC/ST certificate, Ex-Serviceman, Serving Defence Personnel certificate, Physically Handicapped certificate, Sports certificate from competent authority in case the candidate claims himself/herself to be in one of the categories 01 to 06.
(v) No objection certificate from the employer, if the applicant is employed.
(vi) Three recent passport size photographs pasted at the appropriate space in the application form.

The SC/ST certificates have to be issued by M.P./MLA/Collector/ ADM/ SDO/Local Gazetted Revenue Officer not below the rank of Dy-Collector/Tahasildar. The Sports/Game certificates have to be issued by the Director of Sports/ Sports Council of the University countersigned by the Principal of the college. (b) Students of the sponsored courses are not eligible to be members of the Students Union, Athletic
Club and Dramatic Club of the University.
(c) All the rules formulated by the P.G. Council, Utkal University from time to time are applicable for
admission into sponsored courses.

ADMISSION
(A) Eligibility:
A candidate seeking admission into this programme should have passed with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) in one of the following examinations:
(i) Master’s Degree Exam. in Computer Science/IT/Computer Applications/Mathematics/Statistics/ Electronics/ Physics OR
(ii) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology (B.E./B.Tech.) OR
(iii) AMIE Examination/ B-level examination of DOEACC.
(iv) Master’s Degree in ITM/ Math. & Computing /AMIEIE.
Note: Candidates who have not been awarded percentage of marks, but only Grade/CGPA, must along
with their application form, produce the conversion certificate from the concerned University/Institution indicating the conversion of Grade/CGPA to equivalent % of marks failing which, their application forms are liable to be rejected.

(B) Application Procedure:
Eligible candidates desiring admission into M.Tech. (Comp. Sc.) programme should apply in the prescribed application form available with this Information Brochure. Students appearing at the qualifying examination may also apply and appear the entrance test subject to the following provisions.
If the result of the qualifying examination has not been published by the time of admission, a candidate may be admitted into the course provisionally as per the merit list, provided that such candidates shall submit their result securing at least 55% (50% in case of SC/ST candidates) of marks before they fill up forms of the Semester-I examination of the M.Tech. (Comp. Sc.) programme, failing which their admission into the M.Tech. (Comp. Sc.) programme shall be cancelled without any refund of the course fee and other fees.

Application forms duly filled in and complete in all respect should be sent by registered post or through any person to the Course Co-ordinator, M. Tech. (Computer Science), P.G. Department of Mathematics,
Utkal University, Bhubaneswar-751004 so as to be received on or before 10th  June, 2013 between 11A.M.-1.30 P.M. on all working days. Application form received after 10th  June, 2013 or incomplete in any respect will be rejected. The Department will not be held responsible for postal delay.

(C) Documents as mentioned in 0.4 must be attached to the application form.
(D) Selection Procedure:
Selection of candidates for admission shall be made on the basis of an entrance test to be conducted by the School of Mathematics-Statistics-Computer Science on 25.06.2013 (10A.M.-1P.M.). The entrance test shall be of three hours duration and shall contain questions on:
(i) Mathematics up to the Bachelor’s Degree Level (Pass Course) (40% weightage)
(ii) Computer Fundamentals and Programming (40% weightage)
(iii) Logical Reasoning (20% weightage)
The questions form parts (i), (ii) and (iii) shall be objective type only.
