MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK (MSW) ADMISSION NOTICE 2015
The Centre for Social Work Studies (CSWS) invites
applications from interested eligible candidates for admission in the Master of
Social Work (MSW) Course for the Academic Session 2015- 2017.
The Course consists of 4 (four) Semesters with a
total duration of 2(two) academic year.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission: (a) A
Bachelor’s degree under the 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized University
securing a minimum of 45% marks in Major or in aggregate (40% for candidates
from the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes).
Candidates whose results for the qualifying examination are not yet declared
may also apply, provided that she/he is confident of fulfilling all the
criteria for admission and is able to submit the original marks sheets before the
admission process is completed. (b) Preference may be given to candidates from
the north-eastern States
How to Apply: The prescribed application form can
be obtained from the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Dibrugarh
University on payment of Rs.300/- at the Punjab National Bank, Dibrugarh
University Branch. The application form may also be downloaded from the
website: www.dibru.ac.in. However, the downloaded forms must be accompanied by
a receipt of Fee Deposit of Rs.300/- in the Account No. PNB A/C:
0157002100032540 (code: PNBO 994000) of the Punjab National Bank in the
prescribed format available in the University website. The Fees can be tendered
through any Branch of Punjab National Bank.
Admission Procedure: Selection of Candidates for admission
will be made through a one and half hour Written Test (50 Marks) followed by
Group Discussion (30 Marks) and Personal Interview (20 Marks).Only qualified
candidates securing minimum 45% marks in Written Test will be called for Group
Discussion and Personal Interview. The Written Test will assess a candidate’s
knowledge of and sensitivity to contemporary social issues, general knowledge
and analytical abilities of English. The duration of the Group Discussion would
be of maximum 20 minutes per group.
To qualify for admission, the candidate is required
to secure a minimum of 45% marks separately in personal interview, group
discussion and the written test. Admission will be done strictly on merit basis
(marks secured in Admission Test, GD and PI total). The selected candidates
shall have to bring all the following documents in original: a) Pass
Certificates and Marks sheets from HSLC onwards. b) Character certificate from
the institution last attended No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer
(if employed) for attending the Course. c) Medical Corticated from a registered
medical practitioner vouching the candidate’s fitness.

Intake Capacity and Fee Structure: The intake
capacity of the Course is 30 Seats.

Schedule :
1. 15thJune,2015(Monday) :i. Date of issuing
Information Brochure and Application Form can be collected from the D.U.
Information counter by paying necessary Value. ii. Form can also be downloaded
from the DU Web site-
www.dibru.ac.in and Bank draft of Rs 500.00 drawn in favour of
The Registrar, Dibrugarh University, payable at The State Bank of India ,
Dibrugarh University (code:2051) Branch must be accompanied with Completed
form.
2. 1 st July, 2015 (Monday) : Last date of
submission of complete Form. to the Office of the Department of Sociology,
Dibrugarh University. No form will be received after due date. Candidates are
requested to collect Admit Cards for Admission Test by paying an amount of
Rs.100/-in cash.
3. 15th July,2015(Wednesday) : Written Test from
10.00 am to 11.30am Results of the Written Test will be declared on the same
day at 4-30 pm
4. 16th July, 20135(Thursday) : Group Discussion
from 10-00am-1-30pm. : Personal Interview from 2-30 pm onwards.
5. 17st July,2013(Sunday) :Notification of Selected
Candidates for Admission :Date of Admission
* Candidate must take admission on the same day
i.e. on 20 th July(Monday),2015 between 10-00am to 2-00pm
** No personal intimation will be made to the
selected candidates. Selection notification will be displayed only on Centre’s
Notice Board.
