Applications are invited for its M.Phil course in Bioinformatics for the year 2012

Eligibility: 

M.Sc Computer Science, MCA, M.Sc Information Technology, M.Sc Electronics, M.Tech in any branch, M.Sc in Life Sciences, M.Pharm, MD, etc

Duration: 

One year two semesters

Admission Procedure: Admission will be based on marks scored in qualifying examinations and also in an entrance examination

Entrance examinations will have 100 objective type questions (20 questions on computer field, 20 questions on general Biology, 60 questions on logic and numeric reasoning)

Index marks for ranking (50% aggregate in Bachelors, 50% entrance marks)

Applications are invited in May/June, entrance test is conducted in July/Aug and admission procedure is completed in September

Application Fee: Applicants may remit the following application fees and attach demand draft/challan receipt with the application form; general category Rs 250/-; sponsored category Rs 500/-; SC/ST category Rs 125/-

Demand draft may be obtained from State Bank of Travancore/State Bank of India or from State Co-Operative Banks, in favour of Finance Officer, University of Kerala payable at State Bank of Travancore- KUOC Branch, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram

Payments may also be made directly to the University through its cash counters at Palayam or Kariavattom, and Challan receipt obtained

Undergraduate/Postgraduate Programme Admission-2012

NRI/Children of NRI/Wards of NRI Admission-2012

A few seats in certain undergraduate/postgraduate programmes at some NIFT centres are available in the NRI category for NRI/Foreign Nationals/SAARC Countries/Children of NRI and Wards of NRI

Status of remaining seats of undergraduate/postgraduate programme will be available on 02nd July, 2012 and 08th July, 2012 respectively

How to apply: 

Candidates seeking admission under this category should apply online and submit print (hard copy) of the online application with demand draft of Rs 3000/- to Assistant Director, All India Management Association (AIMA), Management House, 14 Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003 on or before 10th July, 2012 along with following documents; 

1. undertaking required from PIO/Foreign National/ SAARC and NRI-Annexure-I; 
2. attested copies of relevant pages of passport of PIO/ Foreign National/ SAARC and NRI; 
3. an undertaking regarding refund/ withdrawal-Annexure II  from the candidate

The students shall be granted the centre of NIFT as per their merit

The procedure to be adopted for allocation of seats would be as;

First, preference will be given on remaining seats to the candidates (seeking admission’ under NRI category) who had qualified the NIFT entrance examination and are placed in the merit list during the counselling session as per merit

Second, preference will be given to the seats will be offered to the candidates who have completed the entire admission process but were not selected for counselling

They will be allotted seat on the basis of their waitlist rank/rank in the admission process

Third preference will be given to the candidate who have appeared only in written test on 12th February, 2012 but were not shortlisted for 2nd round level of entrance test

These candidate will appear for interview on scheduled date and will be ranked accordingly

Still, if there are any seats available, these will be offered to the candidates who have applied in response to the instant advertisement

The admission of these applicants will be based on their performance in the written test and personal interview

Documents required at the time of counselling/admission; an undertaking from the NRI; demand draft of Rs 4,10,000/- in favour of NIFT, New Delhi at the time of counseling /admission; certificate of 10th class for confirmation of date of birth; 10+2 marksheet and certificate or any other eligibility certificate as mentioned in the prospectus (PCM must for B.F.Tech Programme) for undergraduate programme; marksheet of graduation and certificate or any other eligibility certificate as mentioned in the prospectus for post graduate programme; two passport size and four stamp size photographs; medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format-Annexure-III; undertaking regarding refund; undertaking regarding anti ragging-Annexure-IV; Accounts Form-Annexure-V; degree and mark-sheets of all the years of study (as per eligibility criteria mentioned in prospectus) or proof of having appeared in the final year of exam from competent authority, incase result has not declared (please note; result of final year/ final semester has not been yet declared for UG/PG programme, other than result of all the previous subjects must be cleared/passed on the day of admission (the candidate will have to submit the qualifying mark sheets/certificate by 30th September, 2012 failing which the provisional admission shall cancelled without any further notice which)

In case any certificate submitted by the candidate is found to be of false or not conforming to the stipulated standards mentioned, the admission will be cancelled without any notice and fee paid by you will be forfeited

No separate written communication for admit cards, counselling etc will be sent to the candidates

SHOLARSHIP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India awards Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) under Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) to the students who are within the top 1% at Class XII examination conducted by the Board during the academic session ending March/April 2012.

ELIGIBILITY 

The candidates of Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi who have passed Class XII examination 2012 and are within top 1% (Cut-off score- 471 marks excluding 6th Additional subject) are eligible for the scholarship.

Letters to eligible Candidates along with “ Advisory Note to the Candidate for Eligibility in Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) Component under INSPIRE Scheme” have been sent to the school from where they studied Class XII during the academic session ending March/April 2012. The candidates may collect the same from the school Principal.

Performance in top 1% in Class XII Board Examination and enrolment into education in Basic and Natural Science courses at B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. or M.S. levels qualify eligibility automatically for Scholarship for Higher Education of GOI valued at Rs. 80,000 per year for five years.

If enrolled into Bachelor or Integrated Master’s level programmes in Basic and Natural Science courses (like Mathematics or Statistics or Physics or Chemistry or Life Sciences (Botany and Zoology), in any University or College in India recognized by UGC, India, the candidate is advised to register for Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) through on-line registration at http://www.inspiredst. gov.in/requirement.html or through an application to the Department of Science and Technology http://www.inspire-dst.gov.in/inspire-advertisement.pdf by downloading the application and attaching this Advisory Note and avail the eligibility for scholarship.
