Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2011) to be conducted by all India institute of medical sciences on Sunday, 09th January, 2011 for admission under 50% seats quota in various postgraduate (MD/MS/Diploma/MDS) courses in medical and dental colleges in the country run by the union of India, state governments (except govt of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and municipal or other local authorities

Eligibility criteria: Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. The candidate must possess MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized medical/dental college or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical council act, 1956 and full registration either from the medical/dental council of India or state medical/dental council after completing the compulsory rotating internship. Candidates who have obtained MBBS/BDS from medical/dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are not eligible to apply.

However, candidates who were nominated by the govt of India (ministry of health and family welfare/DGHS New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from medical/dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the prospectus.

The candidates should complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized hospital on or before 31st March, 2011.

The prospectus is available on the website www.aiimsexams.org and must be read by the applicants before applying. The cost of application- cum- examination fee is Rs 1000/- (Rs 800/- in case of SC/St candidates).

Application procedure

Online application: A candidate can submit application on-line through internet. Visit www.aiimsexams.org read the prospectus and other details carefully and follow the instructions given therein. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (downloaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of state bank of India. Transaction processing fee (as applicable) will be payable to the bank.

Offline application: Prospectus-cum-application form can also be obtained by post by sending a crossed bank draft for Rs 1050/- for general/OBC and Rs 850/- for SC/ST category, drawn in favour of the accounts officer (exams) AIPGMEE-2011. The bank draft should be payable at New Delhi and should be valid for six months (up to March/April, 2011).

The request should reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India institute of medical sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110608 on or before 09th November, 2010.

The address at which application form is required should be written clearly in capital letters and with pin code. The following words should be written on top of the envelope request for application form for AIPGMEE-2011 .

Prospectus can also be obtained by hand from the reception counter of examination section, AIIMS against bank draft for Rs 1000/- for general/OBC and Rs 800/- for SC/ST category drawn in favour of the accounts officer (exams) AIPGMEE-2011 as specified above. Postal orders, money orders, cheques or cash will not be accepted for postal/counter sale.

Important dates

Online registration of application on www.aiimsexams.org: 18.10.2010 to 16.11.2010.

Offline sale of application forms (by post/by hand): 18.10.2010 to 16.11.2010.

Last date for applying online application: 16.11.2010 (up to 12.00 noon).

Last date for receipt of completed registration slips alongwith AIIMS (copy of challan form/offline applications at examination section, AIIMS): 16.11.2010 (up to 5.00 p.m.).

Those applying online must submit counterfoil of the challan form meant for AIIMS in original alongwith downloaded copy of registration slip failing which candidature for the above entrance examination will not be considered .
