2-week training course in Book Publishing
Applications have been invited for 2-week training course in Book Publishing being organised by the Trust in colloboration with the Centre for Studies in Book Publishing, University of Calcutta and Publishers & Booksellers Guild, Kolkata
The course is open to young graduates who are directly or indirectly attached with the trade and are inclined to learn more about it and to new entrants in publishing who may wish to gain an overall view of the profession where a bright future awaits them.
Sessions
Sessions will be held at the Chandramukhi-Kadambini Sabhagriha, University Central Library, University of Calcutta, 87/1 College Street, Kolkata - 700073 from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Saturday for two weeks from 5 December 2011. Background materials for the lectures and further reading lists would be provided to the students.
Internship
The Trust has also made arrangements to send candidates for training to different publishing houses as intern. Internship would be offered to deserving candidates subject to selection of candidates by the publishers. The Internship would begin from 1 January 2012 for two months.
Selection will be through the shortlisting by screening of the application forms based on the qualification and experience and interview if required.
Applications:
The cost of the application form is Rs. 50.00 and the course fee payable at the time of enrolment is Rs. 1000.00.
The application forms can be collected from the offices of Centre for Studies in Book Publishing, University of Culcatta 87/1 College Street Kolkata - 700 073; Publishers & Booksellers Guild, Guild House, 2B Jhamapukur Lane, Kolkata - 700 009 or Regional Manager (Eastern Regional Office), National Book Trust, India 61 M G Road, Jalan Seva Trust Building, IInd Floor, Kolkata - 700 009 and duly filled-in forms can be deposited at the same place on or before 25 November 2011 by 12.00 noon.
