Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), an autonomous organization of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, one of the premier Institutes in the country offering education, training, research and consultancy in the field of tourism, travel and allied sectors, has invited applications for admission to the various Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in Management for 2012-14. Specializations include Tourism and Travel, Tourism and Leisure, Services, International Business and Tourism and Cargo.

Tourism and Travel (PGDM -TT) is offered at Gwalior and Bhubaneswar centres.
Tourism and Leisure (PGDM-TL) is offered at New Delhi,
Services (PGDM-S) and International Business (PGDM-IB) with focus on International Tourism Business at Gwalior,
International Business (PGDM-IB) with focus on Tourism and Logistics at Bhubaneswar and
Tourism and Cargo (PGDM-TC) at Nellore.


Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline, of a University or equivalent thereto. Those appearing for the final examination are also eligible to apply, provided they complete it by October 31, 2012. In case the candidate fails to establish eligibility by this date, the admission would be cancelled and fees will be forfeited.

As part of the Admission process, an IITTM Admission Test will be conducted at Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Ranchi on February 26, 2012. Applicants may indicate three choices of centres but centre will be offered only if there are sufficient numbers of candidates available.

The test will be of two hours’ duration and will comprise of multiple choice type questions in four sections- Language Proficiency (60 questions), General Awareness (40 questions), Numerical Ability (40 questions) and Reasoning (60 questions). Each question will be followed by four options for answer including one correct answer. Each correct answer carries one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Answers are to be marked on the answer sheet, which is provided separately, by darkening the oval for answering, using only HB pencil. Candidates should not darken more than one oval against any question, as scanner will read such marking as wrong answer. To change any answer, the candidate should erase completely the one already marked and darken the fresh oval with an HB pencil. Sample questions are available on the website.

Admission to the Programme will be through an admission process carrying 100 points. A weightage of 70% will be for the performance in the IITTM Admission Test. Another 15% points each are for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) respectively. A candidate to be eligible to be considered for admission must participate in all components of the admission process -Admission test, GD and PI.

To seek admission, interested persons should apply to IITTM latest by February 3, 2012 using the form that can be downloaded from http://www.iittm.org and submitting the same duly filled with the admission fees of Rs. 800/- (500/- in case of SC/ ST/ PH) through a Demand Draft payable to ‘Director-IITTM’, payable at Gwalior.

Applicants should use A4 size paper for printing the Application Form. Candidate will have to fill a total 4 pages including two copies of Admit Card.

Those Short-listed based on the admission test, will have to appear for GD and PI at any one of the IITTM centers:

(i) IITTM, Bhubaneswar & Nellore April 2- April 3, 2012

(ii) IITTM, New Delhi April 4- April 6, 2012

(iii) IITTM, Gwalior April 9- April 11, 2012.

Successful candidates must participate in counselling on 14th May and 16th May 2012. Candidates can exercise choice of programme and study centre during the counselling.

Admission and full fee deposit has to be undertaken latest by June 18, 2012. Reservation for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) and physically challenged candidates will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules.
