Applications have been invited by Jain University,
Bangalore, for admission to PhD Courses in the following streams for the
academic year 2013-14.
Biotechnology, Commerce
Biochemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Electronics, Computer Science, Computer
Science Engineering, Management , Electronics & Electrical Engineering,
Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, English, Aerospace
Engineering, Kannada, Fire Engineering, Hindi, Earthquake Engineering,
Sanskrit, Economics, History, Cultural Studies, Public Governance and
Administration, Music, Psychology, Dance, Political Science, Visual Arts, Mass
Communication
Eligibility:
Candidate should hold a Master’s Degree (from a
recognised university) in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% (In the
case of SC / ST candidates there will be a relaxation of 5%). Selection will be
through an Entrance Test and Interview
Faculty members of Jain University or other
recognized Universities / Institutions (teaching at the Degree / Post Graduate
level for a minimum of five years in a permanent position) and candidates who
have passed UGC / CSIR / NET / SLET / GATE examination / M.Phil. Programme
shall be exempted from the Written Test; but they will need to take up the
Interview.
Candidates who are qualified for CA or ACS or ICWA
with basic degree are also eligible to register for Ph.D. in this category
Candidates who have qualified for Masters Degree
prior to 1990-91 with no less than 50% marks are also eligible to register for
Ph.D. programme. MPhil degree holders will get a waiver for part of the course
work of Ph.D. programme
Candidates sponsored by organizations are also
eligible to apply subject to their fulfillment of the above mentioned
qualifications
Candidates who hold a Masters Degree viz., M.Tech /
M.Sc (Engineering) in Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
(Structural or Associated disciplines) are eligible for the Ph.D. (Aerospace
Engineering) Programme.

The candidate should submit his / her application
in the prescribed form with a DD of 1000/- INR in favour of Jain University,
payable at Bangalore, along with other necessary documents; viz., degree
certificate, marks cards and such other documents prescribed along with receipt
for having paid the prescribed fee to Jain

The candidate should submit two copies of the
synopsis of the proposed research along with his / her application.
Eligible candidates will be required to take up a
Pre Ph.D. Entrance examination comprising an Aptitude Test, a Subject Paper and
an Interview
