IIT Kharagpur Joint M.Tech/MCP-Ph.D Admission Notice 2015 IIT Kharagpur has invited applications for admission to the Joint Masters and PhD programme in Engineering and City Planning for the admission year 2015-2016. Eligibility: The programme is open to candidates of all categories with Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology /Architecture/ M.Sc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE etc.) and having valid GATE score. NET qualified applicants in Economics/ Sociology or Geography are eligible for admission to MCP. Criteria for institutes awarding degrees based on aggregate marks secured in all years of the qualifying degree: (i) GE/OBC: Minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale), (ii) SC/ST/PwD: Minimum of 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). For institutes awarding degrees based on aggregate marks secured in the final two semesters or final year of the qualifying degree, the criteria are: (i) GE/OBC: Minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale), (ii) SC/ST/PwD: Minimum of 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). Please see the website for complete details on eligibility. All selected candidates, graduating in 2015 have to produce the marks sheet secured in the final qualifying degree by 31st October, 2015. Seats are reserved for OBC/SC/ST candidates and persons with disability (PwD) as per Government of India rules. B.Tech students graduating from any of the IITs having CGPA 8.0 or above may be admitted to the Post-Graduate programme without GATE score. Selection: The admission for some of the programmes will be based on GATE Score ONLY. For some programmes the admission will be based on both GATE Score and an interview. For these programmes, the weightage shall be 70% and 30%, for GATE score and interview, respectively. For these programmes the interview will be held to test the following: (a) Motivation and aptitude for the Programme (b) Suitability for the department/centre (c) Skills in basic science, engineering, and relevant areas. The interview will be conducted at IIT Kharagpur. Application Procedure: Application for Joint M.Tech/MCP-Ph.D programme is to be submitted by an ONLINE process ONLY by accessing the website http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in from 18th March 2015 to 8th April 2015. The application fee is Rs. 500/- for GE/OBC Male/Transgender Candidates and Rs. 250/- for all Female or PwD/SC/ST Candidates. The application fee is non-refundable.
