MCA admissions 2011-2012


To meet the high demand for IT professionals in the ever growing Indian and International IT industry, the Centre is leveraging its expertise and facilities to formal education in IT field also. The MCA programme at DOEACC Centre, Calicut is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to Calicut University.


Admission (MCA 2011)
Government Seats
The government seats will be filled during the counselling to be held in Trivandrum based on the rank obtained in the Kerala Entrance Exam for MCA (conducted by CEE, Govt. of Kerala). Students who wish to join the government seats at DOEACC Centre for MCA may opt for the Centre during counselling.
Management seats
Selection to management seats will also be based on the rank obtained in the Kerala Entrance Exam for MCA (conducted by CEE, Govt. of Kerala). Those who wish to get admitted to the management seats, need to apply separately.

Faculty
The centre has a team of enthusiastic and competent engineers with post graduate qualifications. Most of our engineers have undergone specialized training in various International Universities / Industries.

Computing facilities
The IT Lab is equipped with high-end Intel Xeon Dual Processor based servers and more than 100 networked PCs with internet facility. A variety of software is available which include Operating Systems like Windows 2000, XP, NT, SCO UNIX, Novel NetWare, Linux, VxWorks, RTLinux, QNX and development tools like Visual Studio .NET, BC++, Kylix, Rational Rose, Cold Fusion etc. RDBMS packages like Oracle and SQL Server are also available.


Library
The centre has excellent library facilities with latest books and journals in the fields of Electronics and IT. Digital Library facilities are also being enhanced.


Project Facility
Students get opportunity to work on latest technology based industrial projects under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced faculty.

Placement Cell
The centre has set up a placement cell to facilitate campus recruitment by leading software companies. The placement cell will also advise the students on career planning and conduct training programs to develop soft skills.

Advanced Training Programmes
In addition to the academic syllabus, students will be provided opportunities for enrolling for Diploma level courses in Software Technology, VLSI Design, Embedded System Design, Software & Systems for Process Automation & Information Security

Course Fee
Tuition fee will be charged as determined by Government of Kerala, Special fees and caution deposit also will be payable. If a student leaves the institution after one year of study or the closure of admission for the year, he/she has to pay the liquidated damages of Rs 30000.. Note:- If the Government of Kerala revises fees, the revised fees will be applicable from the date of revision.

Hostel & Canteen
Limited hostel facility for ladies and gents are available. Canteen facility is also available for the students and staff.

Location
The Centre is situated close to the NIT (former REC Calicut) campus at Chathamangalam, about 20 Kms from Calicut city on Calicut-Mukkam road.

How To Apply
Application forms can be collected by post or in person from DOEACC Centre Calicut office on payment of Rs. 400 as cash or DD drawn in favor of Director, DOEACC Centre Calicut payable at State Bank of India, Chathamangalam (Branch Code-2207). Application forms can also be downloaded, and such applicants must enclose DD of Rs400 (drawn as mentioned above) for application fee.

All payments to DOEACC can be done as either


1Demand Draft to be drawn in favor of Director, DOEACC Center Calicut, Payable at State Bank of India, Calicut NIT Branch(2207). The DD should reach here before the last date to apply.

2Using the pay in slip available in our web site(Pay in slip) , through any branch of SBI (where this format is accepted). The original counterfoil should reach here before the last date to apply.

3The fees can be paid directly into our account from any bank where core banking facility is available. The details required for direct payment are as given below.

Certificate in PLC/SCADA/DCS -Engineer (3 Months)
Admissions 2011-2012



Objective of the Course:
This course is aimed at equipping a Diploma holder/ Engineer/ M.Sc holder ( in specific streams) with appropriate knowledge and skills in Industrial automation systems with the use of DCS, PLCs, Industrial Field Instruments, Industrial PCs, SCADA/ HMI and related Software.


Course Fees:
Total course Fee is Rs. 30000/-(including service tax). Tuition Fees/Examination fees are waived for SC/ST students. The students are requested to contact the Training Officer to know the fees payable by them for the Course Materials and other charges.



The total course fee has to be paid on the date of counseling.


Eligibility: Diploma/M.Sc/BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in the following discipline.

Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Industrial electronics/ Chemical Engineering/ Applied Electronics and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Communication/ Mechatronics / Computer Science.
Ø Diploma/MSc candidates must produce Degree/Provisional certificate &
Ø BE/B.Tech/M.Tech Students must produce Course Completion/ Degree/Provisional certificate at the time of admission.


How to apply:
Students can apply for the course by either filling up the online application form or by downloading the application form and forwarding the same to the Training Officer, along with DD for Rs.1000/- as registration fee (non refundable). In the case of SC/ST students the registration fee is Rs. 500/-.
Requirements for hostel/accommodation to be clearly mentioned in the application and such requests should be accompanied by an additional amount of Rs.500/- (non refundable). Hostel bookings shall be considered only if the same is mentioned in the application and the requisite payment is enclosed along with the application.



Procedure for Online application:
Students can apply online by filling up the online application form. The students are first required to obtain the DD for Rs.1000/- towards registration fee (In the case of SC/ST students the registration fee is Rs. 500/-) and an additional Rs.500/- in case hostel is required. The students are required to fill the details with regards to the DD Number, Date and amount. The students are requested to note down their registration number allotted after pressing the "Submit" button and forward the demand draft mentioning their name and their online registration number. Online registrations not containing the advance fee details will not be considered for registration.


Procedure for applying using the Application form:
The students can download the application form from our web site and fill the particulars and forward the same to the Training Officer along with the requisite fee as mentioned above.

Distribution of seats:
20 seats are available for this PC-500 course
SC/ ST/ Persons with Disabilities are eligible for seat reservation and relaxation in minimum eligibility marks.

Selection of candidates:
Selection of candidates who have the requisite qualifying degree will be based on the percentage of marks in their qualifying degree subject to eligibility and availability of seats. Selection of candidates who have completed the course but expecting the results shall be based on the aggregate percentage of marks mentioned in their final mark list and on the availability of seats. In case the aggregate percentage of marks is not given in the final mark list, the sum of marks from the first to last for all the semesters/ years shall be considered as the aggregate marks.
The selection lists are prepared based on the details given by the applicant at the time of submitting the application.

The admission to the course shall be based on the following criteria:
The applicants should have the requisite eligibility criteria as mentioned under the heading “Eligibility”. Selection list of students will be prepared and published in our website as follows.

Selection list will be prepared based on the applications received on or before 23rd June 2011. The additional selection list will be prepared, if there are vacancy of seats, based on the applications received on or before 27th June 2011.



Selection list:
The selection list of applicants will be finalized and published in our website on 24th June 2011 after noon. After that seats will be available only against any vacancy that arises and will be considered at the time of counseling.
The students have to verify their selection to the program from our website. No separate call letters will be sending to the students for admission.
The selected students in the selection list have to take provisional admission on or before 27th June 2011 by paying the fees (as mentioned under heading “PAYMENT OF FEES”). Their admission shall be confirmed only after verifying their original certificates on the counseling date.

Before payment of the fees the applicants may ensure themselves that they meet all the admission criteria. In case applicants need any clarification they can contact us over Phone/ E-mail or come over to our centre directly before payment of fees.

M.Tech in ES/EDT Admissions 2011-2012

DOEACC Centre Calicut has invited applications for admission to the M. Tech courses in Embedded Systems (ES) & Electronics Design Technology (EDT), affiliated to Calicut University for the Academic Year 2011-12.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR M.TECH COURSES
a. The candidates shall be an Indian National
b. The candidate should have passed the B.Tech course or equivalent from an institution approved by the University of Calicut and the All India Council for Technical Education.
c. The respective branch of engineering for each M.Tech is given under the eligibility criteria.
d. Candidates should have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the engineering degree examination. For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the Engineering degree course is sufficient.
e. Admission shall normally be restricted to those candidates who have a valid GATE Score.
f. However Non GATE candidates can also apply. They shall be considered against the vacancies unfilled by eligible GATE candidates. These unfilled seats shall be filled with NON GATE candidates from KERALA state alone. They have to produce nativity certificate.
g. GATE score is not essential for Sponsored candidates.
h. Candidates who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Examination in Electronics and satisfying the following conditions are also eligible for admission.
a. They must have valid GATE score
b. A Minimum marks of 55% for the section B in AMIE/AMIETE Examination
c. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the field of specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree
i. Candidates who have appeared for the final examination may also apply provided the results are made available on or before 31.10.2011. Such candidates may be considered for provisional admission provided:
a. They must have successfully passed at least six semesters of B.Tech. (Engg.) or three years of Engineering studies on the date of application and the application must include attested copies of the mark lists.
b. On the date of counseling/admission, the students under Semester/ Year system must have passed all including the Seventh Semester / third year of engineering Examination and he/she shall produce all the original Mark lists including the Seventh Semester/ third year of engineering Examination.
c. Produce course completion certificate.

The specific eligibility for the two M.Tech courses is as given below.

I. EMBEDDED SYSTEMS (ES)
a. The candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech in Electronics and Communication/ Electrical and Electronics/Applied Electronics and Instrumentation/Instrumentation and Control/Electronics and Instrumentation/ Electronics/Computer Science/Computer Science and Engg./Information Technology/ Biomedical Engg./ Electronics and Biomedical Engg./ Biomedical Instrumentation Engg. subjects awarded by the Calicut University or equivalent there to as approved by the University of Calicut.

b. GATE score in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ IT/ Biomedical engineering subjects is preferable.

II. ELECTRONICS DESIGN TECHNOLOGY (EDT)
a. The candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation subjects awarded by the Calicut University or equivalent there to as approved by the University of Calicut.
b. GATE score in Electronics/ Electrical/Instrumentation engineering subjects is preferable.

HOW TO APPLY
1. Use only the appropriate application form for admission to M.Tech programme obtained from DOEACC Calicut Centre or downloaded from Website www.doeacccalicut.ac.in.
2. Those who want the application form by post have to enclose a self-addressed stamped cover along with the request.
3. A passport size photograph taken not earlier than 3 months is to be affixed on the Application Form. The photo in the application should be self-attested. Four more copies of the same photograph and one stamp size photograph should be produced at the time of counseling/admission.
4. The following Documents should be enclosed with the application:
i. Attested copies of the Mark Lists & Degree Certificate of the Qualifying Examination.
ii. Course Completion Certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied and attested copies of Mark Lists up to the pre-final semester/ pre-final year for those who have appeared in the qualifying examination and are awaiting results.
iii. Attested copy of the GATE Score Card (if applicable).
iv. Attested copy of Community Certificate in the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ SEBC candidates from a competent authority not below the rank of a Tahsildar.
v. Attested copy of Nativity Certificate in the case of NON GATE candidates from Kerala State from competent authority.
vi. Attested copy of proof of Date of Birth
vii. Copy of Sponsorship Certificate in the case of Sponsored Candidates
viii. Copy of Experience Certificate in the case of Sponsored candidates.
ix. A Demand Draft of Rs 800.00 for general and Rs 300 for SC/ST candidates towards application form fee in favour of ‘Director, DOEACC Centre, Calicut’, payable at State Bank of India, NITC, Chathamangalam Branch (Code No. 2207).
5. A single application form with the above amount is to be submitted for both M.Tech’s. Preferences should be clearly mentioned in the application form.
6. The application with all the above enclosures should be sent by Registered Post/Speed Post on or before 5.30 pm of 30–06- 2011 so as to reach the ‘M.Tech - Coordinator, DOEACC Centre Calicut, PB No. 5, NITC Campus P.O, Calicut – 673 601 Kerala’.
