Eligibility:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology Architecture or equivalent, or Master Degree in Chemistry / Mathematics / Physics / Life Science or related subject or Professional qualification like AMIE or any other associate membership as specified in the M .Tech admission Website (http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in) and Qualified GATE 2011 or 2012 Candidate graduating / graduated with B .Tech. degree from IITs with CGPA of 7.5 and above for SC / ST category and 8.0 and above for others can apply without GATE score.

Seat are reserved for SC / ST / OBC (Non -creamy layer) Persons with disabilities as per Government of India rules.

Candidates admitted to M .Tech programme re offered Half Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) of Rs 8000/- pm. Admission to a few additional candidates who are under merit list may also be offered without. They may get HTTA after 6 months depending upon Vacancy. A limited number of selected candidates will get opportunity to do M .Tech.

Application can be submitted only online. The application fee is Rs - 100/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs. - 200/- for other (DD to be drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favor of “The Registrar, IIT Madras” payable at Chennai) Website: http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in

M.Tech Admission Scheme for Sponsored Candidates

Applications are invited for admission to M.Tech programme from candidates having BE, B.TECH, AMIE qualification with 2 years experience as on 30-04-2012 and sponsored by R&D institutions/ engineering colleges approved by AICTE with full pay and allowances for 24 months. AMIE or any other associate membership holders should have qualified either in GATE 2011 or 2012.
