MS / PhD Admissions 2012


Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore has invited applications for admission to MS / PhD programmes in Science and Engineering and Integrated (Int.) PhD programme in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science for the Academic Year 2012-13.

Eligibility criteria for MS / PhD programme
students who have qualified in NET-JRF / LS under CSIR / UGC fellowship schemes or DBT/ICMR - JRF or GATE / JEST / INSPIRE / any other equivalent national level examinations.

Eligibility criteria for Int. PhD Programme
For all the Int. PhD programmes, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level. Those appearing for the final examination this year can also apply.

Materials Science: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. Candidates are expected to have sound knowledge in the fundamentals of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Chemical Science: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).

Biological Sciences: This is offered in two disciplines (a) Evolutionary and Organismal

Biology: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered. (b) Molecular Biology and Genetics: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science.

Applications have been invited by Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore for admission to following courses of the Academic Year 2012:
(i) Project Oriented Chemical Education (POCE)
(ii) Project Oriented Biological Education (POBE)

ELIGIBILITY:
*POCE:
Project Oriented Chemical Education (POCE) is only for students studying in first year of three years' BSc program (preferably with PCM combination).
*POBE:
Only the students who are studying in first year of three years' BSc program (preferably having Biology as one of the subjects) can apply for POBE.
