Eligibility
(a) For Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence/ Strategic Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or

Master’s degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.

(b) For Centre for International Legal Studies: LL.B. (Three Year) degree after Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks or an LL.B. (Five year) degree with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an M.A. with International Law as one of the subjects with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an LL.M. degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.

(c) For Centre for International Trade & Development: Master's degree in Economics with at least 50% marks and familiarity with Mathematics and Statistics upto Bachelor’s level.

(d) For Centre for South, Central, South East Asian & South
West Pacific Studies: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.

(e) For Canadian and Latin American Studies: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Defence/ Strategic Studies, International Relations and other allied subjects in Social Sciences and Humanities with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 60% marks.

(f) For US Studies: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations, Humanities with at least 50% marks.

(g) All other Centres: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.

For M.A. Politics: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

For M.A. Economics: Bachelor’s degree (with 50% marks in aggregate) in the following subjects under 10+2+3 pattern of education: Economics (Honours) with Mathematics as subsidiary
subject; Mathematics(Hons.) with Economics as a subsidiary subject; or Statistics (Hons.) with Mathematics & Economics as subsidiary subjects.

II. School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies

(i) M.Phil./Ph.D. in Languages/Subjects other than English, Linguistics and Hindi Translation: Master’s degree in the concerned language/subject with at least 50% marks.

(ii) M.Phil./Ph.D. in English: Master's Degree in English or Linguistics or Sociology or History or Political Science or Philosophy or Folklore or Film & Communication Studies or Culture Studies or Comparative Literature with at least 55% marks.

(iii) M. Phil/Ph.D. in Linguistics: Master's Degree in Linguistics or any other discipline with at least 50% marks.

(iv) M. Phil/Ph.D. in Hindi Translation: Master's degree in Hindi with 50% marks and English or any Indian language as one of the subject at B.A. level other than Hindi or Master's degree in any Indian/ Foreign language with 50% marks and Hindi as one of the subject at B. A. level.

For M.Phil. in Portuguese: Master's degree in Portuguese with at least 50% marks or Master's degree in any other Romance Language (Italian, Spanish, French, Romanian) or in English with atleast 50% marks and an Advanced Diploma in Portuguese with atleast 50% marks.

M.A. in English and Linguistics: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

(ii) M.A. other than English and Linguistics: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% marks with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.

For MPH: MBBS degree with at least 50% marks and at least one year’s work experience after internship or M.Sc. degree in Nursing with at least 50% marks and at least one year’s experience in Community Health Nursing.

Online application portal will remain open from 10:00 AM (IST) on 6th February, 2012 till 5:00 PM (IST) on 21st March, 2012.

Offline Application : Set of Application Form and Prospectus can be obtained through Post by sending crossed Bank Draft for Rs.300/- (Rs. Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination for admission to

(1) M.Sc. (Biotechnology);
(2) M.Sc.Agri./ M.V.Sc(Biotechnology) and
(3) M.Tech (Biotechnology) Programmes being offered by various participating Universities.

Eligibility
M.Sc. in Biotechnology:

Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant Course); OR Medicine (MBBS) OR B.D.S. with at least 55% marks.

M.Sc.(AGRI.) Biotechnology/M.V.Sc.

Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3/4/5 pattern of education with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade point average from any recognized university in the concerned subjects.

M.TECH. in Biotechnology

Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one: B.Tech/ B.E. in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Chemistry/ Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Technology, B. Pharma, OR M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics.

Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2010 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2012 are eligible to apply. In other words, those who have passed the qualifying examination PRIOR to 2010, are not eligible to apply.

Note:
1. Candidates who are due to appear in respective qualifying examination
prescribed for eligibility for admission to a particular programme are also eligible

14th August, 2012 and they fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as
prescribed in the prospectus.
2. The University does not offer correspondence courses.
3. While the University, on its part, shall ensure timely despatch of Application
Forms soon after receipt of the request from intending candidates, it will,
however, not accept responsibility for any postal delay or irregularity or loss in
postal transit.
4. Any dispute with regard to any matter relating to admission shall be subject to
