Essential Qualification :

(a) The Entrance Test for admission to Ph. D. degree course in a discipline of Agriculture, Horticulture & Forestry for University Research Scholar, In-service, Self Supporting, Collaborative Research and Project Fellow of session 2014-15 will be held on 13/09/2014.

b) The candidates of In-Service and Project fellow categories shall have to apply online and have to be sent the printed application form with proper documents through proper channel only. The number of seats for Self Supporting category are mentioned below for each Department under both the Faculties.

The Self-Supporting and Collaborative Research candidates will be finally admitted after approval of their study programme in the Academic Council of the University.

c) Consistently good academic records with Master?s Degree in Agriculture /Horticulture / Forestry Science having at least  7.00 OGPA (6.5 OGPA for SC, ST and PWD candidates) from any recognized Indian/Foreign University followed by Bachelors? Degree in Agricultural / Horticultural / Forestry Science under 10+2+4 or 10+1+4 or 11+4.

d) Experience of Dissertation in University / Institute for at least one year.

e) Minimum age for admission is 23 years as on 01/01/2014.

Faculty of Pharmacy:

MPharm degree or a Master’s degree in Pharmacy considered as equivalent by RUHS. Such candidates must have obtained at least 55% marks in BPharm or MPharm. A relaxation of 5% marks at PG level to the SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates shall be given.

Candidate who has appeared for master’s degree program and whose result is awaited can also apply for RUHS PhD Admission Test-2014. Such candidate shall be permitted provisionally to appear at RUHS PhD Admission Test-2014. A candidate must qualify the master’s degree program so as to submit the marks statement of the same before the interview board during its meeting.

Engineering Streams

Admission Procedure:

Applicants fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria, shall be required to take Indus University Research Aptitude Test (IURAT) and appear for a personal interview (PI).

The research aptitude test shall comprise of two sections .One section on general reasoning, and the other on respective streams.  The test paper will have multiple-choice type questions. Duration of the test will be ONE hour.

During the personal interview, the candidate shall have to make a presentation for about 10 minutes on the main theme of the proposed research, which will be followed by an interview by the panel. The DRC shall test the potential of the applicant for conducting research work.

Based on the academic / research / industrial record and the performance of the applicant in IURAT  & PI , the ARC/ DRC  shall recommend to the Dean ( Research)/ Executive President (Vice Chancellor) the names of the suitable candidates.

Successful candidates will be informed of their selection through their email ID within two weeks from the date of IURAT & PI.

Institute Fellowship

The candidates selected for admission to Ph.D. Programme as full-time research scholar is eligible to receive institute fellowship as follows. The tenure of a research fellowship is four years only but it is based on the performance of the research work and other assignments of the Department. The full-time research scholars have to assist in teaching and laboratory work assigned by the concerned Department.

(a) Candidates joining with Master's Degree in Engineering / Technology or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto,

                Rs.18,000/- per month, for the first two years

                Rs.20,000/- per month, in the next two years
