Applications are invited by The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University from the eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. Research Programme in Law (60 Seats)/Inter-disciplinary field (08 Seats) (Fulltime/ Part-time) offered in the Research and Publication Department of Law, University Campus, Chennai for the academic year 2015-2016 in the  broad areas of Constitutional Law, International Law, Criminal Law, Business Law, Environmental Law, Labour Law and Administrative Law, Intellectual Property Law and Human Right.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO Ph.D. IN LAW:

Candidates desirous of applying for Ph.D in Law shall have a M.L. Degree Course/LL.M with 55% marks or its equivalent grade from any recognized University. (Candidates who have completed their Master’s Degree in Law prior to the year 1991 should have atleast a minimum of 50% of marks). In case of SC/ST and PWD candidates 5% concession in marks is given as per the regulations of the Government and UGC.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO Ph.D. IN INTER-DISCIPLINARY FIELD:

a) A Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 55% marks along with a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Medicine, Forensic Science, Agriculture or Technology or M.Phil in other Humanities & Social Science having scored a minimum 55% or equivalent in its grade (Candidates who have completed their Master’s Degree prior to the year 1991 should have atleast a minimum of 50% of marks)

b) Candidate who have passed Company Secretary examinations(ACS) or Passed Charted Accountants examinations (ACA) or Passed Cost Accountant Examinations (ICWA) are also eligible.

 Application form can be downloaded from 05-01-2015. The last date for submission of form is 27-01-2015. The Entrance test is on 14-02-2015.

 The filled in application form along with the necessary documents and Demand Draft for Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only) drawn in favour of “The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Chennai” payable at Chennai should reach the Chairman, Ph.D. Admission-2015-2016, The Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Chennai-600 028 on or before the last date prescribed.

Eligibility for Admission:
Candidates desirous of applying for PhD in Law shall have a ML Degree Course / LLM with 55% marks or its equivalent grade from any recognized University. Candidates who have completed their Master’s Degree in Law prior to the year 1991 should have at least a minimum of 50% of marks. In case of SC/ST and PWD candidates 5% concession in marks is given as per the regulations of the Government and UGC.

Application Forms:
Application form can be had in person or by post from The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai on a written request along with the Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) in person; Rs. 1050/- by post, towards the cost of application form drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai’ payable at Chennai.

Application forms will be issued in all working days between 10-00 am and 05-00 pm from 22.08.2011. The last date for issue and submission of forms is 09.09.2011.

Degree Courses [Regular] offered in the School of Excellence in Law [SOEL], M.L Programmes offered in the P.G. Departments and P.G. Diploma & Certificate courses offered through Distance Education Mode in Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Campus, Chennai -28 and also for admission into 5 year B.A.,B.L. and 3 year B.L Courses offered in affiliated Government Law Colleges in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Thirunelveli, Chengalpattu and 3 year B.L. Courses in Vellore respectively.

b) 3 year B.L.(Hons.) Degree Course:
Any Degree Viz., B.A/B.Sc.,/ B.Com/ B.B.A/B.E/M.B.B.S/ B.Pharm/Other Graduates (General Category - 60% and SC/ST - 55%)

1) Separate application forms should be obtained for each course.
2) Request letter for application forms should contain the name of the candidates and the course for which the application is sought for (Viz., B.A.,B.L (Hons.), B.L (Hons.), M.L.,P.G. Diploma, Certificate Course, B.A.,B.L and B.L Degree Courses).
3) Application form for all the courses can be obtained in person or by post from the Office of the TNDALU on a written request along with the Demand Draft towards the cost of application form including Registration, drawn in favour of “The Registrar, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai”, payable at Chennai.
4) To avail concession on the cost of application forms, SC/ST candidates shall submit a copy of their community Certificate along with their written request.
