Candidates applying for FPM should have the following qualifications:
1. A Master's Degree in any discipline, (10+2+3+1 or 2 pattern) with at least 55 percent aggregate marks. (OR)
2. A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55 percent aggregate marks . (OR)
3. A 4 year / 8 - semester Bachelor's degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 60 percent aggregate marks.
Applicants with valid scores from CAT, GMAT, GRE, or GATE, JRF, NET are encouraged to apply.

Candidates who are in the final year of their Master's/Bachelor's Programmes that would make them eligible can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2011 from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar or Director of the university/institute (issued on or before June 30, 2011) stating that they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in all the subjects required for obtaining the master's/bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification.

Application forms for admission to the course can be obtained from the Heads of Departments concerned and from the Principal, University College, Thiruvananthapuram on request by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope along with a chalan receipt/DD towards payment of cost of application form of Rs.25/- (Rupees Twenty five only) and Registration fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only) in all Departments except in the Department of Futures Studies.

Chalan/DD for Rs.150/- towards the cost of application form and Registration fee remitted together should be forwarded for obtaining application for admission to M.Phil Course in Futures Studies.

The Regional Mathematical Olympiad sponsored by the National Board for Higher Mathematics and coordinated by the Department of Mathematics, CUSAT, will be held on 5th December 2010 at several centres in Kerala.

This is meant for talented students of Class X/XI/XII and is the first stage for selecting an Indian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad to be held in The Netherlands in July 2011.

The first five rank holders will get cash awards sponsored by KSCSTE and Prof C S Venkataraman Memorial prizes.
