Registration of Candidates for Ph.D. in Nursing - 2009
Prospectus 2008-2009

National consortium for Ph.D. has been constituted by Indian Nursing Council (INC) in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, under the Faculty of Nursing and W.H.O. to promote doctoral Education in Nursing.

Applications are invited from candidates for enrolment for part time Ph.D. in Nursing under Faculty of Nursing, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

Duly filled in application form may be submitted on or before 15th December 2008 to the Nodal Centre.

IMPORTANT DATES:
Date of Notification: 07th November, 2008
Last Date of Receipt of Filled in Application Forms at the nodal centre (NIMHANS, Bangalore): 15th December 2008
Last Date of issue of admit card of entrance test from NIMHANS by post: 31st December 2008

Date of Entrance Test: 24th January 2009
Venue : Delhi/Bangalore

Declaration of Result (after 5:30 pm): 06th February 2009
Intimation from the univ. to the candidates for provisional admission: 20th February 2009
Last Date of Admission: 13th March, 2009 (up to 4.00 pm)
Last date of admission with late fees: 20th March, 2009 (up to 4:00 pm)
In case a candidate does not join the course up to 13tht March 2009 his/her seat will be declared vacant and will be offered to other candidates from the merit list.

Closure of Admissions for the session 2008-09: 31st March 2009

Note: Procedure for registration as given in prospectus is applicable to the candidates who qualify the entrance examination


PREAMBLE
National consortium for Ph.D in Nursing (hereafter called as Ph.D Consortium) has been constituted by Indian Nursing Council (INC) in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and W.H.O., under the Faculty of Nursing to promote doctoral education in various fields of Nursing.

The Ph.D Consortium programme is governed by the Ordinance issued by RGUHS as per Notification No. UA/SYN/ORD/2003-2004 issued on 13.08.2003.

Number of seats available: 25 Nos

ELIGIBILITY:
Applications are invited from eligible candidates who have obtained
(a) M.Phil/M.Sc (Nursing) or a Post Graduate degree in nursing recognized by INC, for enrolment for Ph.D in Nursing (part-time) under Faculty of Nursing RGUHS.
(b) The candidates should have passed M.Sc Nursing with a minimum of 60% marks.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
Selection for the Phd. Programme will be based on:
i. Merit in the entrance test (90 marks)
ii. Candidates Obtaining M.Phil in nursing (5 marks)
iii. Publications (5 marks)



Selection will be made by the Ph.D consortium and the decision of the consortium shall be final

The prescribed application form may be downloaded from

The duly filled in application form may be submitted along with D.D of Rs. 2000/-drawn in favour of Nodal officer, Nodal Centre, National Ph.D consortium in Nursingn payable at Bangalore Duly filled in application form has to be submitted to the nodal centre on or before 15th December 2008 by 4:00 p.m. to the following address:
