Candidates who possess a recognized Masters Degree in the subject concerned or in the related subjects or subjects specified by the Departments with not less than 55% marks /B+ Grade of the University or equivalent Degree of any other Indian or Foreign Universities recognized by SSUS are eligible to apply for the above research programmes. SC/ST candidates need require a minimum of 50% marks only or B grade in their Master's Degree.

Candidates who possess the M.Phil Degree of this University with B+ Grade or equivalent M.Phil Degree of other Universities recognized by the university will be admitted for the Direct Ph.D Programme.

Admission to the Integrated M.Phil/ Ph.D programme shall be on the basis of an entrance examination conducted by the SUS.

UGC-JRF holders, the teachers of the University and teachers of Government and Aided colleges with a minimum of two published works in recognized research journals and the candidates with M.Phil are exempted from the entrance examination.

Admission to the Direct Ph.D Programme will be through an interview conducted by the Research Committee of the concerned department. Interview will be based on the written research proposal of the candidate.
