Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune, Maharashtra-411 018 has invited application for admission to MBBS course at Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Pimpri, Pune and BDS course at Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital Pimpri, Pune for 2011-12. For MBBS there are 150 seats while for BDS, there are 100 seats available.

Admission will be based on the merit as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in All India Common Entrance Test - 2011 (AICET-11) to be held at Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur & Pune on 29th May 2011 (Sunday) and also considering their preference(s) given in the Application Form.

Applicant should be an Indian National and should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2011 (Applicant should have been born before 1st January 1995).

Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C.) examination/ Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination/Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination or any other examination equivalent (in which case, equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi has to be obtained) to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board/University from any school/college situated in India after 12 years of study and should have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50 % marks (40 % marks, for SC/ST applicants) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination (10+2/HSC or an equivalent examination). Those who have appeared or are likely to appear for qualifying examination (HSC etc.), and whose results have not been declared at the time of AICET-11 shall also be considered eligible to appear for AICET-11, provided he/she has offered the above mentioned subjects at the said qualifying examination(s). Applicant should also secure at least 50 percent marks (100 out of 200 marks) at the AICET-11.

The fee for Application form is Rs.500/- and that for the Test is 1500/-. Application Form can be obtained from the University office on payment of Rs. 500/- by cash or by way of D.D. It can also be obtained by sending a requisition letter with Name of course opted for, detailed correspondence address with contact number and e-mail address, along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 600/-, drawn in favour of 'Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth', on any Nationalized Bank, and payable at Pune. It may also be downloaded from the University Website in which case, the filled up downloaded form shall be submitted along with a Demand Draft covering Form Fee, Test Fee and Postage of Rs. 100/-.

Late Fee for applications submitted beyond the due date for all courses will be Rs. 500/-.

Completed application form should be accompanied by a Demand Draft for Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 2000/- for late submission) by way of DD drawn on any Nationalized Bank, in favour of 'The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth', payable at Pune. Application may be submitted personally or by Registered/Speed Post or by Courier to 'The Registrar, Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri, Pune - 411 018'. Those who submit the application in person may pay the test fee either by a DD or in cash.

The last date for receipt of application in the University without late fee is April 29, 2011 and with the late fee of Rs.500/- is 14th May, 2011. The Admit Card for AICET - 11 will be despatched by Courier or by Post to the candidate under certificate of posting.
 
The admit card will indicate the seat number, the examination centre (with its address) allotted to the candidate.

In case the admit card is not received until a week before the test, candidate shall contact the Controller of Examinations of the University or the Centre-in-Charge at the respective test centers, on the day of the AICET-11, for collecting a duplicate admit card. In such a situation, the candidate should bring two copies of his/her photograph, taken from the same negative as the photograph affixed to the application form, with him / her and proof of submission / mailing of application form / Xerox copy of demand draft / receipt of payment of cash. In case, no proof is submitted, duplicate admit card may not be issued.
 
The test consists of one question paper of 200 marks. The question paper consists of two hundred objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 50 each on Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. In case more than one candidate has obtained equal marks at the AICET-11, a candidate with higher marks in Biology at the AICET-11 shall be preferred. If the tie till persists, then, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry at the AICET-11 shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then, the candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks at the HSC (or equivalent) examination shall be preferred. If the tie still persists, then, candidate with higher percentage of aggregate marks at SSC examination shall be preferred.

Names of only those candidates who obtain 50 % or more marks (100 or more out of 200) in AICET-11 will be included in the merit list which will be displayed on the notice board and at www.dypatiluniversity.org. Only first 300 candidates in the merit list will be called for counseling and on-the-spot admission session.

The admission sessions will be conducted at the office of the Vidyapeeth, as per the schedule. Failure to report for admission on the scheduled date and time shall result in instantaneous cancellation of the claim of the candidate to the seat. It shall be the candidate's responsibility to ascertain the result of AICET -11.

A waiting list for admission to the course shall be prepared and notified on the Vidyapeeth notice board. The candidate, who desires to have his/her name included in the waiting list, shall submit the application for inclusion. If no such application, in writing, is submitted during the interview, the candidate's name shall not be included in the waiting list.

The seat which becomes vacant during the admission session shall be kept vacant. The waiting list of the course shall become operative from 1st August onwards and the candidate(s) in the waiting list shall be offered seats as per availability of seat(s). The waiting list shall be operative till all the vacant seat(s) are filled in or till 30th September (cut-off date), whichever is earlier.

Annual fee structure for candidates admitted to M.B.B.S, under General Category is Rs.5,23,000/- per annum. For  Management seats, it is Rs.6,43,000/- per annum. For BDS, these are Rs.2,62,000/- per annum and Rs. 4,00,000/- per annum

University Eligibility & Registration Fee (One-time Fee): 10% of the Annual Fee, payable for the first year only, shall be paid by the student separately at the time of filling in the Eligibility Application as University Eligibility & Registration Fee. This fee shall be paid by the Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth Pune', payable at Pune.
