Ph.D degree in Physics Admissions 2011

 

Department of Physics, University of Calcutta, has invited applications for admission to Ph.D Course and subsequent research work leading to Ph.D degree in Physics.

Candidates who wish to pursue research work should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs.100/- through a challan obtainable from University of Calcutta, College Street Campus, Kolkata-700 073.

Applications can also be downloaded from the website link: http://www.caluniv.ac.in/Phd_Dlit/phd.pdf . Candidates having Ph.D. form downloaded from the website are to pay an additional charge of Rs 50/-.

The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ examination to be held on March 7, 2011. The  successful candidates will be called for an interview on March 9, 2011.

Those candidates who have already passed UGC/CSIR(JRF) Examinations/ NET/ SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil/M.Tech or equivalent examination need not appear at the written examination and can directly appear at the interview.

The filled-in application forms, along with the challan, should be submitted to the Department of Physics, University of Calcutta, Senate House, 87 /1 College Street, Kolkata-700 073  on or before February 28, 2011.
