Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry has invited applications for admission to M.SC., Ph.D., Fellowship., D.M., M.Ch. courses of Academic Year 2011-12.

COURSES & SPECIALISATIONS:
• M.Sc. Medical Bio-Chemistry, Medical Lab. Technology – Microbiology

• Ph.D. (Full Time): Anatomy, Bio-Chemistry, Physiology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Clinical Immunology, Pathology

• D.M: Cardiology, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pharmacology, Neonatology, Neurology, Clinical Haematology

• M.Ch: Cardio-Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Urology, Surgical, Gastroenterology

• FELLOWSHIPS: Diabetology, Medical Oncology, Pediatric Critical & Emergency Care,
Tropical Parasitology


ELIGIBILITY:
(1) M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry): Application should have qualified in a 3 year B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Biochemistry or Chemistry as main subject with Biology / Botany /Zoology as ancillary subject. Or Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized University.

(2) M.Sc. (MLT – Microbiology): Applicants should have qualified in a 3 years B.Sc. Degree Examination of a recognized University with Microbiology / Biotechnology as main subject with Biology / Botany / Zoology as ancillary subject. Or Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized university.

(3) Ph.D. Programs: Should be a Resident Indian National with a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade in any of the following examinations. M.Sc. / M. Phil. Degree / PG degree in any branch of Life Sciences of a recognized University. Or M.B.B.S. Degree of recognized University. Or DM/M.Ch./MD/DNB or equivalent Degree. Or Qualified in any of the three National Entrance Tests (NET) for Ph.D. – ICMR-NET / CSIR NET / UGC-NET or JRF under DBT /DST

(4) Fellowships:
(i) DIABETOLOGY: Qualification: M.D. General Medicine from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. (including Diplomate in National Board in General Medicine).
(ii) MEDICAL ONCOLOGY: Qualification: M.D. Medicine / M.D. Pediatrics / M.D. Radio Therapy from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. (including Diplomate in National Board in Medicine / Pediatrics).
(iii) PEDIATRIC CRITICAL and EMERGENCY CARE: Qualification: M.D. Pediatrics from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. (including Diplomate in National Board in Pediatrics).
(iv) TROPICAL PARASITOLOGY: Qualification: M.D. Microbiology from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India. (including Diplomate in National Board in Microbiology).

(5) D.M./M.Ch. courses:
(A) D.M. (Cardiology, Neurology, Clinical Immunology, Haematology): Candidates should have passed M.D. Degree in General Medicine or in Pediatrics from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
(B) D.M. (Neonatology): Candidates should have passed M.D. Degree in Pediatrics from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
(C) D.M. (Clinical Pharmacology): Candidates should have passed M.D. Degree in Pharmacology from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
(D) M.Ch. (Urology, Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, NeuroSurgery, Surgical Gastroenterology): Candidates should have passed M.S. Degree in General Surgery from any University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.

APPLICATION: Eligible candidates can apply for two courses under M.SC. /D.M. / M.Ch. / Fellowships. Such candidates are required to submit two separate application forms marking the correct code number in the individual form. Candidates for Ph.D. are required to submit ONE form only.

Cost of Application forms: M.Sc. (Medical Biochemistry) & M.Sc. (M.L.T. – Microbiology):
Rs.250/- for Unreserved / OBC candidate,Rs.200/- for SC / ST candidate (Plus Rs. 100/- towards cost of Model Question Paper). Ph.D. Programs: Rs.500/- (Plus Rs. 100/- towards cost of Model Question Paper). Fellowship / D.M. / M.Ch. Courses: Rs.1000/- (Plus Rs. 100/- towards cost of Model Question Paper)

Application forms are available on direct cash payment only from STATE BANK OF INDIA Branch, JIPMER Campus, Puducherry.

The Prospectus and Application Forms can also be had from Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605 006 up to 5th July 2011 through Postal requests, accompanied by a M.I.C.R. Bank Draft for the appropriate amounts, drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, JIPMER” payable at any Nationalized Banks in Pondicherry. 10 x 7 cm self addressed label must accompany the postal request for correct delivery of the Application Forms.

Filled in application with three identical photographs affixed in application and Hall Ticket, three self addressed slips along with the prescribed fees in the form of a single D.D.drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer, JIPMER”, should be sent to the Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry-605006.
