Visiting Students' Research Programme (VSRP-2012)

The Visiting Students' Research Programme (VSRP-2012) will be held by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai during the period May 14 to July 6, 2012. In VSRP, talented students are given an exposure to research activities in areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics (Astronomy & Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics & Material Sciences, High Energy Physics, Nuclear & Atomic Physics and Theoretical Physics). The programmes are held at the Mumbai campus of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research as well as at the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), Pune.

Eligibility:
Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics
Pre-final year students of
(1) MSc in Applied Maths, Astronomy, Biosciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics.
(2) BE / BTech with interest in Physics.
(3) Medicine / Engineering.
(4) Exceptionally bright BSc students in Mathematics may be considered.

Computer & Systems Sciences
Pre-final year students of BE / BTech / MSc / MCA / ME / MTech

Before filling the online application form please keep the following ready:
1. Scanned photo (.jpg file of size not exceeding 100kb) of your passport size photograph.
2. Students are required to fill in two areas of study in order of preference.
3. A write-up of 100 words describing the students interest in the most preferred field of study is required to be uploaded (in .doc or .pdf format and file size not exceeding 1MB).
4. Names and email ids of two Referees who would be filling up the Referee Report Forms of the student. They should be teachers or persons with whom the student has interacted academically.

Students from remote areas who do not have access to internet can send a request for application form along with a self-addressed stamped envelope of Rs 10/- to The Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Homi Bhabh Road, Colaba, Mumbai 400005 on or before January 6, 2012.
