KLE University's All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET-2012)

KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum, Karnataka-590 010, will conduct KLE University's All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET-2012) for admission to Under Graduate courses in Medical & Dental, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Ayurveda and Nursing at its constituent colleges namely, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, KLE V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum, KLE Colleges of Pharmacy at Belgaum Hubli and Bangalore; KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belgaum, KLE Shri B.M.K. Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Belgaum and KLE Institute of Nursing Science, Belgaum, for the academic year 2012-13, from 2 PM to 5 PM on 5th May 2012 (Saturday) at the following centres:

The KLEU-AIET-2012 will consist of one paper, to be set in English medium & will contain 200 multiple choice objective type questions, with 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology based on syllabus followed by 10+2 Boards / Universities. (The detailed syllabus is available at : http://www.kleuniversity.edu.in ). Each correct answer will get one mark. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.

Eligibility: Applicant should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2012. For MBBS, applicant should satisfy the eligibility as prescribed by the Medical Council of India and for BDS, that prescribed by the Dental Council of India.

Those seeking admission to MBBS course, should have scored minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination (12th / PUC II / 10+2 / HSC /equivalent examination). Applicant should also have scored 50% marks in English language in the qualifying exam. Those who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination (PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent), but whose results have not been declared, are also eligible to appear for KLEU-AIET-2012, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examination. Those who have passed the qualifying examination (12th / PUCII / 10+2 / HSC / BSc Degree / first year of 3-Year Degree course as specified by Medical Council of India to be considered as eligibility for appearing in entrance test), earlier than 2010 are not eligible for applying to KLEU-AIET-2012 for seeking admission to MBBS course. Eligibility criteria for courses other than MBBS and BDS are provided at annexure 'A' of the brochure that can be downloaded from: http://www.kleuniversity.edu.in.

Applicants should have passed qualifying examination from a Board recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.

Application :
The application form is common for MBBS / BDS / BPharm / BPT / BSc (N) / P.C. BSc / BAMS courses. The process of applying, involves:
(i) Online submission of application form for KLEU-AIET-2012 examination on or before 17th April 2012 (Tuesday), http://www.kleuniversity.edu.in (ii) Sending by post, a hard copy of submitted/printed application form along with DD, photograph and other enclosures, to reach the University, on or before 23rd April 2012 (Monday)
(iii) Appearing for Test to be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on 5th May 2012 and (iv) Appearing for counseling at the KLE University at Belgaum (Dates of counseling will be intimated later on the University website).

Application is to be submitted online at : http://www.kleuniversity.edu.in/aiet-twelve/ugtwelve/ugtwelveform.asp . A printout of the 'online' submitted application form with left thumb impression affixed in the column provided in the downloaded printed application form along with a processing fee of Rs. 1500/-, by way of DD favouring 'Registrar, KLE University', payable at Belgaum, Karnataka with the name and number of the application form (as printed on it) written on the back of the Demand Draft and (i) 2 recent coloured photographs, as per specifications in Rule 58 of the Brochure (ii) Attested photocopies for SSLC/X Std, and Qualifying examination Marks Cards (iii) Photocopy of proof of date of birth should reach The Registrar, KLE University, JNMC Campus, Nehru Nagar, Belgaum, Karnataka-590 010, latest by 5 PM on 23rd April 2012. Applicants are not required to enclose originals of any certificates with the application form. They may preserve photocopy of the completed application form. This may be useful for obtaining duplicate Test Admission Ticket (TAT) card, if required.

Seats and Reservation :
There are 200 seats for MBBS and 100 seats for BDS. Students will be admitted to various Courses in J.N. Medical College Belgaum and KLE V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences Belgaum, KLE Colleges of Pharmacy located at Belgaum, Hubli and Bangalore, KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belgaum, KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum and KLE Shri BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Belgaum, on the basis of 'inter-se' merit earned by them in the KLEU- All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET– 2012). 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / Management. 2.5% of the seats are reserved for children of teaching faculty of KLE University (KTC category). 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for students hailing from educationally backward Belgaum Revenue division (BRD category) consisting of Districts of Belgaum, Dharwad, Karwar, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Haveri and Gadag.

Students claiming seats under BRD category should satisfy the following criteria:
(a) The student's parents should be permanent residents of one of the seven districts (Parents' Recent Domicile certificate to be enclosed)
(b) The student should have studied for at least ten years including PUC II in one of seven districts (Study certificate to be enclosed). Those claiming seats in the above two categories must specifically indicate the same in the Application form. Their admission will be on 'Inter-se' merit of KLEU-AIET-2012.
