Admission to M.Sc. (MLT) Course - 2012



MSc (MLT) Course is conducted in the Directorate  of Medical Education,Government of Kerala,Thiruvananthapuram.At present  with 12 sanctioned seats in three branches as detailed below: 

1 MSc (MLT) Microbiology 


2 MSc (MLT) Biochemistry 


3 MSc (MLT) Pathology






Admission to M.Sc. (MLT) - 2012 




The last date for remittance of fee at Federal Bank is extended to 07-07-2012. 
The last date of Application submission is 11-07-2012. 
Entrance exam is on 15-07-2012.



Eligibility for admission: 
(a) The candidates who have passed the B.Sc MLT Degree of any of the Universities in Kerala or any other Universities recognized by KUHS, with a minimum of 50% marks for all the  years of BSc MLT Examination taken together will be eligible for admission.  
(b)Only Indian Citizens of Kerala origin are eligible for admission to the course. They have to provide the nativity certificate along with the application form.  
(c) Upper age limit for admission: 40 years for General category and 48 years for service quota as on the date of notification for inviting the application for the course. 



Duration: a)  The course of study including the Project work shall be  over a period of 2 years. 
                        b)  After the successful completion of the course, the students shall do compulsory service with the Government upto 1 year, for which the bond has to be executed at the time of admission. 

c)  Selection of candidates except for the seats reserved for  Service Quota will be made through an Entrance   Examination conducted by the  Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram 
               d)  The Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram will prepare and forward the select  and wait lists to the Director of Medical Education. 



Application form:
 The application forms are common for all candidates appearing for the Entrance Examination. The candidate seeking admission to the course can apply in the specific format online which is available in the Website at lbscentre.org or lbskerala.com of the Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram.  (Refer the notification) 



In the case of Service candidates, application fee should be remitted in the Treasury under the head of Account “0210-03-105-99” and the Chalan receipt should be attached with the application form. Those candidates who apply under General Merit as well as service Quota  shall remit the application fee separately (ie.Rs.800+800) 
The Prospectus can also be downloaded from this Website. The application forms and the Prospectus will not be available from the Medical Colleges and from the office of the Director, LBS Centre for Science & 
Technology, Thiruvananthapuram


How and when to apply
(a) Application form correctly filled up together with  the following documents should be send by registered post to the  Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Nandavanam, Palayam,  Thiruvananthapuram - 695033 with the superscription “Application for Admission to M.Sc (MLT) Course-
2011-12” before the time and date notified by Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram Service candidates shall submit their application to the Director of Medical Education, 
Medical College P.O, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 011, through Principal of the concerned Medical Colleges. Date of receipt of applications will be same as that of General category.  The candidates, who applied for both the entrance exam  and under the Service quota, need to submit only the photocopy of the application 
form to the Director of Medical Education, but separate fees should be remitted for the purpose. 
(b) Documents to be submitted along with the application.  (In all cases, true copies/Photostats, duly attested, of the following documents): 
a. Certificate proves date of birth.
b. Nativity certificate, required under Clause II (b).c. Community certificate obtained from the Tahsildar, in the form appended to the application form for SC/ST& SEBC applicants. 
d. Degree Certificate of BSc MLT Examination.
e. Statement of marks in all the subjects of the B.Sc MLT Examination. 
f. Service certificate & Experience Certificate in case of service  quota as on the last date of submission of the application. 
g. Passport size photograph to be affixed at the space provided.
h. Any other certificate required along with the application.
         
Note: 1)   Candidate who have passed their Degree from Universities other than Universities in Kerala  will have to produce the Equivalency 10 Certificate  from the Kerala University of Health and Sciences, 
Thrissur at the time of counseling to the Director  of Medical Education. 
2)  Documents/certificates furnished after the submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstance. No opportunity will be given to incorporate any details after the submission of the application.
