About the University
JSS University is a culmination of a half century of perseverance in the field of education steered by the philosophy of noble minds.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) declared Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University, Mysore, as a deemed-to-be-University. The four constituent colleges currently under the ambit of JSS University are the JSS Medical College, Mysore, established in 1984; the JSS Dental College, Mysore, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore established in 1973; and college of pharmacy, Ooty, established in 1980.
The University offers a serene and conductive setting for students and researchers to learn and enrich their knowledge, attitude and practices.
JSS Mahavidyapeeta, the sponsoring society is a citadel of learning with over 350 institutions under its umbrella. The institutions are spread across the states of Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Uttar Pradesh in India and in other parts of the world such as Dubai, Mauritius and the USA.
His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, the Chancellor of JSS University has in his message said that:

About Training program
JSS University is organizing a 21 days training program on “Geospatial Technology and Applications” from August 6th to 27th, 2012 sponsored by The Department of Science and technology, Government of India at JSS University , Mysore. The objective of the training program is to create awareness on GIS as a tool to enhance the learning process and apply this tool for research both in epidemiology and public health care. Theory and practical classes on GIS will be conducted by the experienced faculty. This training program will provide platform to scientists/engineers/researchers working in different streams.
