(EQUIVALENT TO M.Sc. MATHEMATICS EDUCATION )

"MASTER OF MATHEMATICS EDUCATION"

For the first time in India, University of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia, the two main universities of India, under the meta university concept are starting a 2-year joint degree program "Master of Mathematics Education" (equivalent to M.Sc. Mathematics Education) from the academic session 2012-13.

The course will be administered from the Cluster Innovation Centre, Rugby Sevens Building, University Stadium, G.C.Narang Road, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.

Eligibility Criterion for applying in the Course

Graduate degree in any discipline provided the applicant has done at least two full-fledged papers in mathematics at the undergraduate level.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

1. The administrative center for conducting the entire admission process for the course will be the Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi.

2. The physical distribution and collection of application forms and allotment of admit cards will be done by the Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi.

3. The online application form for entrance test can be downloaded from websites of DU (http://du.ac.in), CIC (http://cic.du.ac.in) and JMI (http://imi.ac.in).

4. The admission to the course will be through an entrance test (75% weightage) followed by an interview (25% weightage).

5. Only those applicants which will be shortlisted on the basis of entrance test will be called for interview. The number of candidates called for interview will be three times the maximum number of seats available for the course.

6. The application form is provided free of cost.

7. All applicants must submit demand draft of Rs.500 drawn in favour of "Registrar, University of Delhi", payable at Delhi along with the application form. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST category should submit a draft of Rs. 250 only.

8. All applicants applying in person will be issued the admit card at the time of submission of application form.

9. All application forms sent by mail must accompany a self-addressed stamped envelope for sending back the admit card by post.

10. Original certificates of academic records, mark-sheets, certificates for reserved seats must be produced only at the time of the interview. There is no need to attach copies of any certificate along with the application form.

11. All admissions are provisional and subject to the approval of the University of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia.

ENTRANCE TEST:

1. The entrance test will be on 2U December 2012.

2. The entrance test will consist of 75 questions each carrying one mark and will be of one hour duration.

3. The entrance test will contain questions based on mathematical skills, reasoning, mental ability, general awareness, communication skills in English language etc.

4. The centers for the entrance test will only be at Delhi.

5. The result of entrance test will be displayed at notice board of Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi and on websites of University of Delhi (http://du.ac.in). Cluster Innovation Centre (http://cic.du.ac.in) & Jamia Millia Islamia (http://jmi.ac.in) on 6th December 2012.

The application form with requisite demand draft must reach Cluster Innovation Centre, Rugby Sevens Building, University Stadium, University of Delhi, Delhi-110007 latest by 14th November 2012 (4.00p.m.).

Per Semester Fee of the Course

The per semester fee for the course will be Rs. 5000/- per student.
