Admission to Ph.D. Programme in Human Rights

Applications are invited for admission to Human Rights Programme, University of Calcutta (35,
Ballygunge Circular Road, Kolkata 700019) for Ph.D. Course and subsequent research work leading to Ph.D degree in Human Rights. Candidates should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan obtainable in College Street Campus or in Ballygunge Campus (Sales Counter). The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ examination of 1 hour duration to be held in this Department on December 28, 2012 at 12 noon. The syllabus of the said examination is the Post Graduate Syllabus of Human Rights (both Part I and Part II) of this University. The successful candidates will be called for an interview on January 01, 2013 at 12 noon. The final selection for joining this Department as provisionary Ph.D. student will be on the basis of this interview. Presently 15 Ph.D. students will be taken and reservation policy for S.C. and S.T. candidates will be followed as per rules, if available, under the empanelled supervisors from anthropology and other departments of Calcutta University and supervisors from other universities and research institutes. Those candidates who have already passed NET/SET/ SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations or passed the M.Phil examination need not appear at the written examination and can directly appear at the interview.

Candidates are requested to download the application form from the University Website or collect the application form from the office of the Department of Anthropology and to submit the application at the office of the Department of Anthropology, University of Calcutta within December 20, 2012.
