IIT Indore invites applications from highly motivated and research oriented students for its following Full-time Regular PG and PhD Programmes

IIT Indore has invited applications from highly motivated and research oriented students for its following Full-time Regular PG and PhD Programmes of Academic Year 2013-14.

Courses - Qualifying Degree and Exam

I. School of Basic Sciences:

1. MSc and MSc + PhD Dual Degree:

Chemistry: 1. Minimum first Class* Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as a subject for three years / six semesters and should have passed Mathematics at (10+2) level, AND 2. Qualification in JAM 2013 in Chemistry

Physics: 1. Minimum first Class* Bachelor’s degree with Physics as a subject for at least two years / four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters, AND 2. Qualification in JAM 2013 in Physics

2. PhD:

Chemistry - Mathematics - Physics

1. Minimum first Class* Master degree in a Science with UGC-CSIR-JRF / NET qualification OR equivalent fellowship, OR

2. Minimum first Class* Master degree in relevant branch of Engineering / Technology, OR

3. BTech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0.

II. School of Engineering:

1. MTech and MTech + PhD Dual Degree:

Communication & Signal Processing: 1. Minimum first Class* BE / BTech or equivalent degree in Electrical or Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Instrumentation or Telecommunication or Information Technology, AND 2. Valid GATE qualification in Electronics and Communication (EC).

Production & Industrial Engineering: 1. Minimum first Class* BE / BTech or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials and Metallurgy, Mechatronics, or Automobile Engineering; AND 2. Valid GATE qualification in Mechanical (ME) or Production and Industrial (PI) Engineering

For IIT graduates with CPI equal to or more than 8.0, the GATE qualification is exempted.

2. PhD:

Computer Science Engineering - Electrical Engineering - Mechanical Engineering

1. Minimum first Class* Master degree in the relevant branch of Engineering / Technology, OR

2. Minimum first Class* Bachelor degree in engineering or technology from a reputed Institute with a valid GATE score, OR

3. BTech degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0 OR

4. Minimum first Class* Master degree in a relevant branch of Science with valid GATE qualification OR UGC-CSIR-JRF / NET qualification OR equivalent fellowship

III. School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS):

PhD:

Philosophy - English - Psychology - Sociology

1. Minimum first Class* Master degree in relevant discipline of HSS with UGC-JRF / NET qualification or Equivalent Fellowship, OR

2. Minimum first Class* in the course work component (if any) of MPhil degree in relevant discipline of HSS, OR

3. BTech from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0. OR

4. Minimum first Class* Master degree in Science / Engineering / Environmental Science / International Business with UGC-JRF / NET qualification or equivalent

Fellowship may also be considered.

IV. Biosciences and Bioengineering:

PhD:

Bioscience & Bioengineering:

1. Minimum first class * Master’s degree in engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Biomedical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace,

Biotechnology, Signal Processing, or any relevant branch with knowledge in Optics and basic biology) OR

2. Minimum first class * bachelor’s degree in engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical,

Aerospace, Biotechnology) with a valid GATE qualification OR

3. BTech degree from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) with a minimum CPI of 8.0 OR

4. Minimum first class * master’s degree in Science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics, System Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biophysics) valid GATE qualification OR UGC-CSIR-JRF / NET qualification OR equivalent fellowship.

How to Apply

 Application must be submitted ONLINE through our website (http://www.iiti.ac.in).

 After Submitting the application online, the same is to be downloaded and the signed hard-copy along with recent photograph and self-attested relevant certificates, document and Statement of Purpose

must be sent to the following address on or before 9th April 2013.

 There is NO application fee.

 The application received after the last date of application OR not meeting the qualifying criteria will NOT be considered for further processing and no request will be entertained in this matter.

 The envelope of the application must CLEARLY mention "APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION IN (name of the programme and discipline) for AY 2013-14."
