M.Sc BIOTECHNOLOGY ADMISSION 2013

Twelve (12) seats are available for admission to M.Sc Biotechnology Programme run by the University. Candidates with Bachelor’s Degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant Course) or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply. Admission for all seats will be made on the basis of merit in the Combined Entrance Examination for Biotechnology (CEEB) to be conducted by the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on 21st May, 2013. Out of these twelve seats, seven will be filled on all India basis. The remaining five seats will be filled in order of merit from the CEEB-qualified list provided by the JNU, New Delhi who fulfill the eligibility criteria and other conditions prescribed for the M.Sc Biotechnology Programme of the University of Jammu; the admission in this category shall be given to a candidate who:
a) Has passed the qualifying examination from the University of Jammu; or
b) Is a permanent resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the University but has passed the qualifying examination or an equivalent examination from a recognized University other than the University of Jammu.
In addition three candidates will be admitted under NRI/Industry sponsored category for which admission will be made on the basis of Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) to announce later. The advertisement for which will be issued by Jammu University at a later date.
The JNU has decided to accept the applications from the intending candidates by two Models, i.e, through “Online Mode” and “Off-Line Mode”. Those candidates who have access to the computer and printer can log on to JNU website: www.jnu.ac.in  or www.jnuonline.in  between 7th February 2013 and 23rd March 2013 and submit the application.

Candidates intending to apply through “Off-Line Mode” are required to seek the Application Form directly from JNU, New Delhi by sending Demand Draft amounting to ` 260/- drawn in favour of “Jawaharlal Nehru University” payable at New Delhi, latest by 11th March 2013 to the Section Officer (Admission), Room No. 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067 along with self addressed envelope of size “30 cms x 25 cms” clearly indicating on the top of it the Programme of Study for which the form is required.

The last date for receipt of application forms at JNU for both the modes, i.e., “Online Mode” and “Off-Line Mode”, will be 28th March 2013.
