The
S. N. Bosc National Centre for Basic Sciences, a premier autonomous research
institution engaged in advanced scientific research in frontier areas, and
aided by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites
application from motivated students for its residential Ph.D Programmes.
Post-M.Sc.-Ph.D.
Programme 2013
1. Basic
qualification: M.Sc with hirst Class Division i.e., minimum 60% in aggregate
(55% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in Physics. Chemistry. Applied Mathematics.
Biophysics or Biochemistry.
2. Fellowship:
In line with the current rules. Rs. 16.000 per month for the first two years as
a JRF. Thereafter, upon meeting the eligibility criteria of the Centre and a
Comprehensive Examination, the students will be inducted as SRF with a monthly
stipend of Rs. 18000/-.
Post-B.Sc.
Integrated Ph.D. Programme in Physical Sciences (IPhD-Ph) 2013 (in
collaboration with the University of Calcutta)
1. Basic
qualification: hirst Class/Division i.e.. minimum 60% in aggregate (55% for
SC/ST/OBC candidates) in B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics.
2. Monthly
Stipend: Rs 12.000 during the first two years. The successful completion of the
Course Work will lead to an M.Sc Degree by the University of Calcutta, and
thereafter, upon meeting the eligibility criteria, the students will be
inducted as JRF. Stipend at par with Centre's JRF if admitted to the JRF
programme.
• Age
Limit: Applicant must he born on or after 01.08.1987 (for PhD) i &
01.08.1989 (for I PhD) Relaxation in age maximum of 2 years for SC ST OBC
candidates.
• On-line
Application: Starts on 12th March, 2013 Closes on 22nd March, 2013.
