ADMISSION NOTICE

The Faculty of Management. Gauhati University
invites application for admission into the two year programme in:
Master of Business
Economics(MBE) Session 2014-2016
The Master of Business Economics(MBE) programme,
administered by the Department of Business Administration and the Department of
Economies, Gauhuti University is a professional interdisciplinary course of stud)
in Management, finance, and Economics. The program seeks to respond to the
changing requirements of the contemporary business economy by providing a more
comprehensive grounding of management, finance, and economies to its graduates.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A Bachelor's degree of 10+2+3 pattern with minimum
of 50% marks in aggregate or in Honours/Major subject (if nil) ) from Gauhati University
or any other recognized University, (not through Distance mode). Those who have
appeared in the final year of the Bachelor's Degree or any equivalent
examination may also apply provided they will be able to meet the eligibility
condition prior to 31st August 2014.
Applications:
Application form along with
Prospectus can be obtained from Gauhati University Publication Department
(GUPD) till 25-07-2014 on payment of Rs.300/-(Three Hundred only) at the G.U.
Cash Counter or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Gauhati
University payable at S.B.I., Gauhati University Branch. The Application form
for admission may also be downloaded from the website at www.gauhati.ac.in in which case a Bank Draft of Rs. 300/-( Three
Hundred only) in favour of Registrar, Gauhati University & payable at
S.B.I., Gauhati University Branch is to be attached along with the filled in
application form.
Selection Procedure:
A. Eligible
applicant will have to appear in a written test, meant to evaluate their
quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, general awareness and proficiency
in English, to be conducted by the Gauhati University. All applicants
fulfilling the above eligibility criteria may appear for the written test to be
held on JULY 31, 2014 at 12 noon. They are requested to collect their admit
cards from the Department of Business Administration, Gauhati University before
the written test.
B. Candidates
qualifying in the written test will be permitted to appear in the Group
Discussion and Interview
C. Group Discussion
and Interview be held on 01-08-2014. The final selection will be based on the
applicant’s overall performance in the written test, group discussion and
interview.
D. Candidates who
have appeared in any one of the All India Common Entrance Test-after September
2013 for admission to MBA programme, viz. CAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT or CMAT and
scored marks not less than 75 percentile are exempted from appearing in the
written test conducted by Gauhati University and shall be permitted to appear
in the Group Discussion and interview for final selection.
